  Hello. I have an Acer Iconia 500 which is about 4 years old. I bought it when my laptop was stolen but unfortunately hardly used and only recently rediscovered it. Despite several attempts by a relative of technophiles and advice from a very helpful Lady in the Acer customer support I couldn't update the device. I tried to use the instructions provided by the customer to 'restore factory settings' but still without success. I'd like to be able to something with it, but for now it's just too much room. For any help or suggestion would be appreciated thanks.

  Billsey thanks for your comments. I don't know why, it's now different, but now I went into settings and restored to "factory setting" from there. Now all works well.

  I understand that after the update to Windows 8.1, you encounter a problem with your Internet connection. Have you tried to turn off everything on your network, including the router, and then their departure to the top, start with the router.

  Here is a link to a document (of www.mediacollege.com) to replace the default DNS server.  Change the DNS settings in Windows XP.

  To configure the DNS to google entry 173.194.115.18 preferred DNS server and the replacement of 173.194.115.17.

  I see that you cannot print because of an error regarding the print spooler. Have you tried to remove data from the app to the spooler? For that; Settings > Apps > Plugin printing HP Service > clear data.

  Another thing you can try is to start the table in safe mode and see if the print spooler error is always present. How to start your Android phone or tablet in Safe Mode Let me know if you can print in safe mode.

  I just this tablet and everything so far is ok, but it fails to connect to the Google server. He has no problem connecting to other servers however.   1. go to setting-> Applications-> shop game Google-> erase-> empty the Cache.
  2. go in setting-> Applications-> Service Google Play-> erase-> empty the Cache.
  3. Enter your Google username and password after opening Google Play Store again.

  Hi Roberto, hmm, the double screen Iconia is not part of the official Win 8 upgrade program. Thus there is no official support. That said, I can say I've seen a preview version to win 8 running on an Iconia without problems.

  I'm afraid it sounds like a hardware failure with the battery. Contact Acer support and they will repair it for you.
