After Windows automatic update, laptop screen becomes completely white

After the automatic update of Windows, the screen of my laptop to become completely white. I have to Ctrl/alt/del to Task Manager. The bottom of my screen appears, but no wallpaper, shortcut icons, etc. I disabled the automatic update and it seems to work fine. What could be the problem? I am running Vista.

Following the advice of a friend who had the same problem, I deleted all my cookies. Surprisingly, this fixed my problem. Thank you very much for your help!

  • Crashing after Windows automatic update

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this.

I have Vista running in my laptop and this morning reported a number of updates pending. I leave auto update to download and install all but other than IE8, I don't know what was there as I wasn't really paying attention. After restarting Windows will not load and I get the blue screen of death on the normal or safe mode. "Use the good last setting" option does not work and crashes and just Startup Repair tool brings back me to the option to run the tool or start Windows normally.

I can not even in windows to do something and I don't know what I'm doing with Vista, so any help is appreciated.

    Simon

    Try this:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista repair disc.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

There is not a disk of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    See you soon.

  • Blue screen after windows xp update...

I got the blue screen now well documented after windows xp update. I'm away on business and so unable to make my records at home. My question is without the disk is there a way I can fix it the laptop? Microsoft took 3 days to order discs and now tell me it might take 7 to 10 days so that they arrive. Not really customer service.

Anyone has any ideas, is there something that you can download? or is there a fix on the Web site?

    Thank you

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Firefox don't appear or start on my XP PC after an automatic update (12/02/2014?); IE appears but freezes. Always have access to the e-mail. Advice to restore Firefox?

The morning after the automatic update, my XP PC monitor had a black solid (or was it blue?) screen with only the arrow cursor visible. Move the mouse did nothing except move the arrow cursor. I rebooted and fortunately the Windows logo appears, and I was able to access all the programs I normally use except Firefox. When I click on the Firefox icon in the XP boot screen, the arrow cursor turns into the hourglass. The hourglass stay right there. Firefox can run in an alternate universe, because when I ran CCleaner, I received a message saying that Firefox took a long time to close, and I want to force it to close.

I'm still able to send and receive emails, which indicates the Internet access. However, with no visible browser, I don't know how to connect to my XP PC Web sites. How can given these limitations, I go about restoring Firefox on my XP PC?

    Thank you.

    You are welcome

  • Satellite L300-PSLB8E - screen becomes all white and the laptop freezes

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 PSLB8E. I initially bought with Windows Vista already installed on it. After a few years, I changed the operating system Windows 7 Ultimate. I installed the display and all the other necessary drivers (that is, sound, network, etc.).

After I installed Windows 7, when I use the laptop for a while, the screen becomes all white and the laptop hangs. This happens spontaneously. Sometimes, in less than 10 minutes and other times that it can work perfectly for hours. I checked for loose batteries and other components, but everything seems fine.

Physical damage only that there is a tiny crack on the screen in the bottom right of the screen. The operating system is not good? If I put windows Vista back as it was?

Please advise and help understand me what the problem is with the laptop.

Until we start discussion can you tell me what you do when this happen?
    Hard stop and restart?
Is everything OK again when you do?

It is not easy to say what exactly is the problem, but I put t think there is problem with OS and preinstalled display driver. A long time ago I installed Win7 Home Premium on friends L300 and it works perfectly.

What you can try is to use the external monitor for a while and see if everything works well. If so, there is no problem with the operating system, drivers or graphics card. It may be that the display problem.
