• Text button problem

  Hello everyone, just a quick question about the text buttons:
  
  I am part of a group of three people who assembles simulations for our training department. Recently, we used a block of the menu buttons to chunk trust more long for easy to manage download.
  
  So here's the question - the buttons we use are plain old buttons 'text '. When two of us use, the exported sequence shows simple gray rectangles with black text. When the third user makes, the buttons export as objects of white edge, round with rollover highlighting.
  
  We miss all the exact same version (1.01.148), and we are all from the same development model.
  
  Any ideas?

  In Vista... Zoom must be set to 100% to make the live button text.

  View / Zoom / Custom / 100%

  If you left click the 'A' in the palette tools and click left/drag
  a box in the position where you want the text... the bar of text tools
  should become alive.

  FWIW... the free Picasa software has better options for adding
  text of photos.

• Vertical button discussion questions

  I've been at this for hours and can't seem to understand the problem.

  What I want is simple - vertical skinny 6 buttons that stretch to the top of the screen down (fact). I want that they regularly spaced from left to right (done). So I want to click on each of them for different actions. What is happening, it is the first button immediately Gets the focus and seems to have the focus on the entire screen. No matter where I click, the first button is the one that keeps the focus. Help? Here's the code to application below. The buttons spread the field and are inspired by PictureBackgroundButtonField one of the examples.

  Never fails. Post something, then shortly after solve it. It turns out that the super.sublayout (maxWidth, maxHeight);

  Buttons text takes up the style of the buttons system, you can't control them at all.

  Best way would be to replace the text by form buttons buttons, which you can style so that they perfectly resemble text buttons, but you can control the style of the three States. I recommend to do with the object Style (on CP8) Manager.

  Transparent buttons don't have any rollover State, you can also use image buttons but then you must create three different images with proper nouns, such as image buttons you have included in the CP.

  Is it on any PC or only specific parts?

  I don't know if it still applies to Captivate 5 and 5.5, but it can. When you use a text button, it will adapt to the Windows theme used. Though it may appear to go on your own PC, but look differently on another, depending on the theme of Windows in use.

  This is why the Image buttons are useful. If you want to make sure that they always appear little any computer or Windows theme is used when you view your presentation.

  I have Captivate 3.0.0 Build 580 on my work computer. Some of my colleagues have the same version as well. Despite this, if we publish any Captivate file with text buttons, text buttons look dark grey in color (with border only on the two edges) in the SWF file published on my computer while they look more light color Silver (with a blue border on all 4 edges) in the SWF files published on their computers.   I have a DVD menu created in Photoshop that doesn't look like it works when I Preview in Encore. Basic navigation is a series of 5 buttons on the left, with no visible text at first. When a button is activated, the text States, as below:

  The button group (+) Red contains the Red Stripe layers, which is the button itself. The (= 1) nail red element contains a white line for red and the button fill for text. Each of the 5 buttons work in exactly the same way, by using 5 different colors for each button.

  FYI, there is a method to simulate the autoactivate usikng to take you to a menu different than a button colors etc as part of the background image. -Will not work on computers because mouse on does not autoactivate.

  I'm on Mac CP5. In my module, I Dove immediately the learner in a scenario. If they can do it, fine; If this isn't the case, I want to help to be available. My plan was to have buttons to image on the slide where they could see an example, or watch a working tool. I tried just to insert a button on the question slide so I could navigate to another screen to provide help and now I see that CP5 allows me to add a button (or other standard objects) to a question slide. I also tried to copy and paste a button to another slide and that does not work either.

  How can I insert these additional navigation buttons on a slide in question? I did the quiz on option in the preferences.

  Hello Kevin,

  If you are using the Question slides coming with Captivate, you can not insert interactive objects: buttons, click boxes, text entry boxes. It is also not possible to insert the rollover slidelets or Zoom areas. You can insert other standard objects.

  I think I'm repeating something I already told you: If you want to have total control, especially if there is no declaration required for an LMS, create your own question slides. Do you have the link you asked for more details on creating question slides?

  If you want to stay with the default Question slides, you can maybe try to join an advanced action in pass/fail options.

  Also be careful if you have a "Quiz", which means that if you Question slides: you can not navigate to a slide outside the scope of Quiz, which begins with the first slide where something is orchestrated (usually a Question slide) and ends with the score slide. The setting to 'Optional' for the quiz settings change at all.

  I am very new to Flash, and I'm not a programmer, so I hope you people can help me with some basic stuff.

  I have a text box of entry named txtNe2 where a user types an answer to a question. I want to evaluate the response when the user press the button ENTER and respond by sending the film to the image of "Ne2C" or part of "Ne2I" (for the answer to the good or incorect response).
