Airplay-to-Peer on Apple TV 4

I just bought the Apple TV 4 mainly because I wanted to feature airplay - to-peer I've heard so much about the new revision of the Apple TV 3. I thought that the Apple TV 4 would have the same characteristics and much more than the old model, but I can't seem to get the functionality airplay - to-peer to work.

My favorite Setup:

  • TV4 Apple connected via Ethernet as well as all my other devices fixed 8-Port Gigabit Router on WiFi network
  • All mobile devices are on WiFi.
  • All devices are on the same network and can use airplay very well
  • A friend comes with an iPhone, a friend is not on my network but wants to broadcast certain images to my Apple TV 4, but cannot. Why not!?!?!? A simple-to-peer device (direct) wifi (Apple TV 4) should not appear for my friend.

I tried to unplug the Apple TV 4 Ethernet and he removed completely the network but none.

Is this a bug? It going to be fixed? or should I try to find a Apple TV (3rd generation Rev A, model A1469)

You must allow your friend to join your local network, the problem is solved.

  • Why - what is take a minute to connect to an Apple TV via AirPlay?

We have recently updated our iPad Pros 10.0.1 and one of our Apple TVs to 7.2.1 (he is described as the Apple TV software version). We found that the Apple TV would go to a white screen as it linked. See how we were minutes a meeting where it would be necessary, I ended up swapping on the Apple TV with another. The second APPLETV logged a lot more quickly. I took the first Apple TV at the office to work with and test. I found that it it takes 30 seconds to act as AirPlay logs when it goes to a white screen. It takes another 30 seconds before displaying the iPad screen connection. It seems very long.

Hello. You are maybe not on the same network as the ATV WiFi slow? In this case, you can use AirPlay-to-peer that implements discovered via Bluetooth (must be activated on the iPad). The discovery of Bluetooth is slow because it has to wait for the answers. Connection may be slower, because the devices to implement a direct connection via an unused WiFi channel. 60 seconds is a bit long, however.

  • BBC iplayer is not AirPlay APPLETV since recent iOS upgrade 9.3.3. I used 2 iPads and 2 iPhones to do for at least two years, but now all content not mirroring BBC iplayer blocking Apple TV... Netflix still works!

I used AirPlay Apple TV from Mac, iPad and iPhone without a problem for a while. Recently, just after the update to iOS 9.3.3 BBC iPlayer will not AirPlay without mirroring. If the mirroring, content blocks once streaming begins. All the settings are correct for the network and devices. Everything is up-to-date with the latest versions. Other media such as Netflix and Filmon still AirPlay perfectly if I suspect a conflict between BBC iplayer (who has not had an update for several weeks) and iOS 9.3.3 (which has been updated a few days ago and coincides with the beginning of the problem). Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, found a fix?

    Thank you

  • How to use audio only AirPlay on iOS10?

    UseCase:

-listen to music through headphones on my way back

-When reached on home stereo and activate AirPlay

iOS9 - low slide menu - AirPlay - Audio sent to Apple TV and stereo, play music (took about 3 seconds)
