Hi all
I'm getting ads on all the sites that I opened. And this page is still my home page no matter what I do to change it.
I tried to disable all the add ons and extensions. Moreover, it happened without me adding an extension or an add on.

in the picture you can see what I mean.

Hello zaytoun, sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

More information can be found in the article troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware .

This solve your problems? Please report to us!

Thank you

  • How to prevent the FF loading all Web sites using the HTTPS protocol

FF is trying to load initially all Web sites using the HTTPS protocol, including of mozilla.org. Then I get the error of no reliable connection of course. Mozilla .org is the "invalid security certificate" and "the issuer of the certificate is unknown." I tried to delete the file cert8.db as suggested elsewhere but that did not help. If there is an option for this somewhere, I can't find it. I have the latest version of FF and Win7 running. Thanks for the help.

There must be some sites that are still using a secure connection, as http://www.amazon.com/. If even a link to Amazon is redirected, you can check if you have an extension like HTTPS Everywhere.

For Mozilla sites, Yes, you establish a secure connection.

But you shouldn't get certificate errors! When you get this for virtually all secure sites, the problem is usually as follows:

    (1) error of date, time, or time zone who throw checks validity of the certificates of your system. Sometimes allowing to use a timesource on the internet, the computers can introduce this problem.

    (2) not be set up to work with your security software that intercepts and filter secure connections from Firefox. Products with this feature include Avast, BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky; AVG has a shield search function which can cause this error on search sites.

    (3) malicious software on your system for the interception of secure connections.

    So... who is?

If you have any of these specific security products, which would be the first thing to check. We might be able to help with specific next steps based on what you have if you tell us.

Alternatively, you can examine the certificate to which Firefox is opposed to see if the issuer information pointing to the culprit. Take for example my test page:

    https://jeffersonscher.com/RES/jstest.php

You should see a section "I understand the risks" in the page. If you expand this section, you will find a button Add Exception. You don't need to complete the process of adding an exception (I suggest not adding one until we know that it is not a problem of malware), but you can use the dialog box to display the information that makes Firefox suspicious.

Click Add an Exception, and then view. If the view is not enabled, try first the button get certificate. Then in the certificate Viewer, refer to the section "issued by". What do you find here, or under the hierarchy of certificates? I have attached a screenshot for comparison of screen.

Hi vijaysampath, please make sure first that the date, time, and time zone are set correctly on your system. If this does not solve the problem (or it is already set correctly), a possible solution depends on different factors:

    • What is the error code indicated under Technical Details on the error page?

in case the error code is equal to sec_error_unknown_issuer, please try to add an exception on the bottom of the error page to verify the certificate, as shown on the attached screenshot:

    • What information about the issuer of the certificate contain?

Please take these two pieces of information. Thank you!

    Hello

You run any anti-virus software to make sure that there is no virus on your computer? Also, have you implemented that could block Facebook accidentally content filters? You have blockers cookie that could prevent you to access facebook? Or are they all cookie blocked in Firefox settings? Java script is enabled? (Check by going to about: config, type javascript.enabled, and then make sure that it is set to 'true') If none of these help, when this problem started to happen?

Thank you for your time and for you to answer these questions!

  • Firefox blocks all https sites-, I can not even my Google mail!

Firefox blocks all https sites, I can not even my Google mail - there is no option to bypass this blocking!

Or, I can simply go to http://google.mail.com... I don't see ANYTHING in the settings to disregard certificates

Firefox has gone downhill the way in many ways...

I respectfully disagree with you about Firefox...

The code of Firefox is so bad that I only use it as a last resort. Constantly, it crashes and has done this on several PCs in 2 or 3 years.

In any case thanks for the suggestions, but it turned out malware that Panda deleted.

If Firefox is a 'last resort', why you use it to check your emails? Do you use Google Chrome to access Google mail? I've never had problems with Firefox, then maybe I'm just lucky.

Added the: Chrome and IE are coded by companies funded by programmers. Firefox is a program open source funded through donations to not-for-profit, which means that's what users are doing. If the 'bad code' is probably just different, not bad.

  • When I cannot connect to all my sites requiring a password, and then close browserand reopen browserand I open a session in the agianevenwhenIsay site remember me the facebook

When I log on all my sites requiring a password and username for example Facebook and Gmail, then I close the browser with "remember me" selected it disconnects me Gmail and Facebook. So I log into these sites once again. This does not happen to me in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.

Firefox seems to save the password and username but disconnects me all my sites that requires a user name and a password after each session. This happen to me before an update of Firefox.

The only way I found to get around this problem to keep Firefox open.

    Thank you

The box ' remember me ' indicates the site to place a cookie in Firefox. Persistent means that the cookie is marked with a future expiration date to keep Firefox it between sessions.

There are a lot of ways out of this. For example:

    • Visit the site in a private window
    • Change the default setting in Firefox to accept persistent cookies of all servers (first and third)
    • Set Firefox to clear the cookies at the stop
    • Install Add - ons that erase cookies
    • Use cleaning/security/privacy software external which clears the cookies from Firefox

If you are not sure about your settings of cookies, see the Panel of the Privacy Options dialog box:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > privacy

If you have "conservation rules: don't forget history" then the cookies are accepted and stored.

If you have a "conservation rules: use the custom settings for history" you can check your settings on cookies below this line.

If you have "conservation rules: don't remember history" while you want to use full time private browsing and cookies are thrown between sessions.

If the cookies settings are okay, and you would like some advice on your extensions, it would help if you could post a list of them. Open the troubleshooting information page by using either:

    • Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the upper left corner, click the text of the copy to Clipboard button, then paste it into a response.

After you have previewed, you will see there are additional information below the list of extensions that you can change them if you wish.

  • All the sites I visit via Firefox are distorted. Including your homesite. I had to use IE to send this message.

Earlier today, Monday, I started having problems with FireFox, which I use mainly. What happened is that all the sites, I visited, from about 6:00 pm CST, has been distorted visually and structurally. Including the other sections of your site and your homepage.

It seems as if someone had been altering your browser encoding regarding the ability to correctly display web pages. Your site, in particular, has been stripped of images, videos or staining. Just a page of text skeleton leaking showed. I had to open IE 8 to reach your site to send this message because I couldn't do it in Firefox.

I checked the fact that he is not a RAM problem. In addition, I did 2 United Nations/resettlement of Firefox, which did not help.

I like FireFox is why I felt I should wear this to your attention. I will continue to use IE for now and keep checking back with FireFox hoping that the problem has been identified and corrected.

Thanks for your hard work in creating a browser really superior that you give, and I wish you all the best.

    Sincerely,
    Jerry Johnson

You can set the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the topic: config page 1.0 (current default value is - 1.0) to restore the behavior of earlier versions of Firefox.

If necessary adjust layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 0.1 or 0.05 (1.0 or 0.9) measures to make the icons to display properly.
An extension allows you to adjust the size of the text in the user interface and zoom the page in the browser window.

This extension allows you to adjust the font size for the user interface.

You can watch the Default FullZoom Level or NoScript extension if the web pages need to be adjusted after changing the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx preference.

  • In Firefox Library History all Web sites are displayed and no organized by days more

When I used to go to the story and click Show all history Web sites would be organized in folders that have been listed as today, yesterday, last week, last month etc. Now, all Web sites since the last time I erased from history are all crammed in there how to change this back have once again records?

I think it has changed recently. Maybe other people are complaining that they do not want to have to click to start the display of history, a date range, they have always wanted to see more recent history immediately?

  • All https sites are with sec_error_untrusted_issuer and watch a specific certificate

All https sites I visit will get "this connection is untrusted". I tried reinstalling (entirely) firefox and also uninstalled all kinds of virus software (I had Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10). Tried to clean the cache, cookies, history, and all temporary files disk cleanup. Also tried the file cert8.db regeneration and reset profile. Nothing seems to work, but on other browsers, pages Web (facebook, youtube, banks) work very well. What would be the next step to get closer to the solution. (Keeping in mind a constant restart was part of the process).

      • Also when I "Add Exception" and obtain the certificate, then it shows "thawte, Inc." on each site.

For some reason any using CCleaner to clean my computer fixed the issue... While I used the disk cleanup to clean all my files, but if anyone has the same problem, then CCleaner would be an option to try.

One possible cause is security software (firewall, antivirus) that prevents or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

    See:

You can try to reset (power off / on) of the router.

This happens since I updated from FF6 on all sites that use the protocol https for logging under... I contacted most of the sites and they say that's not them... they are all sites that I have seen in the past and regularly use... now since I updated to FF, they no longer work and I had to use another browser to access these sites... it's a royal pain!

Thank you very much! Who has resolved, but is it safe to leave it off?

    Thanks again!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    You are welcome.

Firefox sometimes automatically recovers from these problems once a few reboots or you can open another window.

  • Certificate error of constant security on all THE SITES

It has happened for months.    All THE SITES, including Msn and outlook.

Windows XP is not very good to store root certificates (those by which all other certificates are checked) updated.  You must perform a manual update of your root certificates.  To do this, go to the following site:

"Members of the root Certifacate program Windows.

then go down to the subsection titled "Root Update Package (designed for Windows XP only)".  Below that is a link 'Update root certificate'.  Follow this link, and eventually you'll download a root certificate update package.  After downloading the package, double-click it to install it.  Who should take care of your problem.
