All my photos when I import into lightroom are blacking out? I saw a previous suggestion, I did, but still photos that turned Blacks are black... What is going on?

@

When I download pictures from a card reader to my computer, and then try to edit in Lightroom, the work that I did does not appear in my original file is saved in my pictures. Something about lightroom does not work properly, there did not seem to work when I first tried to buy in the monthly paid program of Lightroom and Photoshop.

    Hello

Does anyone know how to get the Sony raw (ARW), taken with the new camera Sony 42megapixel, working with Adobe Lightroom.

When trying to import maps on my pro Sandisk extreme sd in Lightroom app said: Impossible to generate the preview for files that have been taken with this camera... I can't import these files.

Lightroom says cannot import files-non recognized by the raw support in Lightroom.

However, the raw files generated by the camera of Sony a7rs, imports and plays well with Lightroom...

I'm now using lightroom 6 edition of lifetime license not CC (just updated to 5.7).

I thought that this upgrade would have solved this problem... but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Is someone having a similar problem... and if so how is it resolved.

    Hi robertlue,

Sony 7RM2 files are supported in the latest version of Lightroom is 6.1.1 (Camera Raw 9.1.1)

Make sure your Lightroom is so far through this link: keeping up-to-date for Lightroom

Then, try to import into Lightroom.

  • Error and files impossible to read when you import into Lightroom

Hello! I have Lightroom 5.7 and I am having a problem trying to import my photos. It comes up with error, cannot read photos and lists the pictures that it canoe read which is all of them, so he then proceeds to import anything. I am able to then import in iPhoto fine but not Lightroom ith. Help, please!

An exact quote from the error message would be useful.

The most common cause of the error of 'reading' is a problem writing to the destination primary or secondary destination. (Badly written error message.)

Check the names of directory for the typos in the import dialog box.

Using your OS (Windows Explorer or Finder) tools check the privileges on your destination directories; you need both read and write privs.

  • I had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos of cecently.  I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there.  How to import these?

I recently had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos.  I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there.  How to import these?

Default LR stores all changes in the catalog file, not in the pictures. So if you have a backup of your original catalog you will need to copy on the newly rebuilt system and open it in LR. You will then need to recreate a link to the images in the catalog depending on where are your images and where the original LR catalogue think they are.

It looks like you can be pretty new to Lightroom.  If this is the case, you will find Victoria Bampton useful books:

  • If I edit a photo in Photoshop Elements, I can't re - import into Lightroom. If I open the file on my Mac, the image is present, but Lightroom is not 'see' at all.

For some reason, does not recognize my Lightroom (Mac) 5 images in folders on my Mac I have edited in Photoshop Elements or perfect 8 effects. If I have previously imported images in a specific folder, Lightroom will show these images grayed (as usual), but will not display other images I've saved later in this file. Similarly, if I, say, select three images in Lightroom to use the option of Photomerge in elements, later saved image will not be recognized by Lightroom.

I tried to move locations, record under I don't know how many different formats etc., but the problem persists. No problem importing existing images to SD card or old files on the computer.

    It's very frustrating!

The file with the name "panorama.pds Lakes" cannot be imported into Lightroom, maybe you mean that it must have the .psd extension?

But I really want you give me an example: Specifies the name and the extension of a picture that cannot be imported into Lightroom.

Also, when you say that you drag the image from your desktop and LR opens, but the image does not appear, what appears? You have enabled filters (if so, please disable filters with Ctrl-L once or twice and see if the photo appears.

Uninstalling and reinstalling are a last resort and probably a waste of time at this stage.

Recovery of DNG issue: I have photos stored on an external hard drive which have previously been imported into Lightroom and converted to DNG.  The laptop on which I was running Lightroom died and I had to replace the hard drive and rebuild the computer.  In the process of my Lightroom program and catalog related to these images have been lost.  When I re-associate these photos with my new installation of Lightroom and a new catalogue is there a way to retrieve the keywords or other changes or metadata catalogue Mountaga?  Is any of this information embedded with the imge DNG file or was it only in the cataloght lost on my failing hard drive? I re-import just as if it were new images with no prior treatment of Lightroom?

By default, LR saves all changes in the catalog, and that applies to any type of file.

Optionally, you can save changes to the file as well, for raw files owners, this will create a xmp file - for DNG that changes are going to be cooked in the file, without additional xmp file.

But it does not default. Go to the catalog and parameters under the control of metadata automatically save changes to XMP.

Unless you do this, the changes are saved only in the catalog.

    Hope this makes things clearer.

  • RAW NEF images are completely different (darker) when they are imported into Lightroom?

Recently I faced a problem for my RAW of NIKON D750 images after imported into Lightroom.

For example, the brightness of the RAW images I shot in the camera is completely different after imported into Lightroom.

Yes, the RAW files include more data that can be adjusted backwards in brighter in Lightroom, but it occurs the most noise to the image that I don't really like.

I just curious is my setting in camera (maybe the screen is too bright perhaps?) or it is common that viewing through the camera LCD screen is brighter than the visualization in Lightroom?

Behind closed doors (the brightness I want):

    20150606_122350.jpg

    Through Lightroom:

    Untitled.png

If you want to be in non-Nikon raws software processing, turn off the ADL and leave it off.   The same applies to other settings where the camera is something special for lighting or the brightness of the camera jpg.

ADL will deliberately underexpose the image, then artificially pushed the dark areas while leaving only brighter area.  This more dynamic compress in the camera-jpg, but will make no-Nikon software see the true underexposed image.

  • Import into Lightroom

My photos will not appear on the left of the screen.  This is why I can't import into lightroom.  I have a new mac so just get used to it.  When I click on the photos to my albums are but the only option under 'Photos' in the table of Lightroom's 'Lightroom' but I have no pictures there that I'm just getting started!  Help!

    Hi ann-mariek,.

You have all your images to the title of the Photos App on your mac, you must export your images out of the Photos app and save it to a specific location (internal or external hard drive), now when you browse this site under Lightroom since the import window and then you would be able to import images into Lightroom.

    Kind regards

  • Why records are imported into Lightroom remaining gray?

Remaining files imported into Lightroom 5 gray, why? I am a fairly experienced user of LR5 and have been using it to organize my photos for a few years now, and I've never had this problem before. It happens when I import directly from my card using a card reader and also if I download on the computer and import from there. Same result, so be it: once I have imported the photos folder arrow remains gray. I updated the folder locations and synchronized folders, and there is no change - folder stay grey arrows. What happens and how can I solve this problem?

    Thank you.

Are the grey icons or the grey triangles? If the triangles are gray dark, it means simply that there is no subfolder in this folder. If they are light gray, it measnyou can check the triangle and see the subfolders in this folder.

  • import into Lightroom 5 is automatic, color/contrast change?

Was hoping you could shed some light on something for me.  After you import Lightroom 5 by clicking on an image for 1-2 seconds it looks as it did when I shot (nice contrast, nice colors etc.). After 1 or 2 seconds to bland seams of color and contrast to change so I do use lightroom to bring what she looked like, why is this?

It is normal for some GROSS photos imported into Lightroom. Initially, Lightroom displays the preview JPG embedded in the RAW file. then after he has a chance to make the photo, it shows you the RAW format, essentially non-edited. There is no way to disable this option. You can configure a develop preset that is applied to the import which will automatically the photo look more to your taste.

    You must be

    Lightroom 6/Lightroom CC 2015

    OR

The free Adobe DNG Converter version 9.0 or later, use this to convert RAW to DNG, and then import the DNG in your Lightroom
