  as JordanB said, the recovery USB key you created was all, so no need to create a backup of drivers.

  If you want to create another USB recovery media and Acer erecovery doesn't work, you can use the USB windows media authoring tool, it's the same Acer erecovery use.

  by the way, if your HARD drive is always okay, with all the original scores, you can reset - reinstall windows without the need to support USB. just press ALT + F10 at startup and it will start the process erecovery.

  I tried to get rid of a hijacker rather bad for several weeks and after many attempts, try to remove such malware, support removal programs. I decided to reset my computer by default. When I tried to use recovery management, as long as I got last weekend was the UAC warning and then nothing. I tried rebooting and using Alt + F10, I got a black screen and it remained so until I released the key. So, as a replacement for the packaging of this thing, sending Texas to repair warranty and then be without it for about 3-4 weeks, is there something that I can fix this?   The best thing to do is a USB to SATA/IDE adapter. It will allow you to connect a standard SATA drive (or even the older IDE type) to a USB port on a different PC.

  

  It also comes with a power supply. This will allow you to test whether a hard drive does not work, and you can even recover data from it. They are inexpensive and very useful indeed!

  Or you can plug it inside a desktop PC using a SATA cable and a SATA power connector.

  If none of the above is possible for you to do, you could ask a friend/family member if they can do it for you, or even ask your local PC store if they can test the hard drive for you.

  Create a USB stick recovery before you make changes!  Do not create a set of recovery discs!

  A set of recovery disks is very fragile and can be destroyed with a single scratch on the disc label. A USB stick recovery is, unlike a DVD, very durable recovery.

  If you install Linux on the hard drive it will change the boot loader if you aren't careful and is more you allow to start on Windows.

  We have a HP Pavilion A6400Z that origionally came with Vista Home Basic.

  Apparently at some point they thought it was too slow, so they took an acer recovery disk and put XP on there. There is no drivers / whatnot.

  I put vista Home premium on there to see how he could play, and it works well. The recovery partition is surprisingly intact, with all of the HP Preload files there.

  What I do:

  Only I have a disk of vista Home premium and want to the factory restore using the recovery partition that is always there.

  Pressing F11 at startup is not in recovery mode, I need to get the software HP Recovery Manager, or find a file on the partition recovery that will do it for me.

  By pressing F11 on HP Invent blue screen, as soon as it presents, should start the Recovery Manager.  If it isn't, there are two other ways to get it started.

  (1) try to start in Safe Mode, tapping F8 (not now) after the blue HP screen.  Then go on the recovery partition and mark it as active in the "disk management", then restart.  Back in safe mode, and it must ask that the installation of Windows you want.  If it does not order them HERErecovery Kit.  You can see several items that apply but do not require the "Vista Business". 5092-7398 or 5092-7399 should work.
