App World - short Descriptions, support

Is it just me or someone else has noticed that for several applications, App World now only by presenting a brief description of an application and not the description complete?

Woot Woot!

I noticed that in the downtime last night BlackBerry World has been updated and now it is possible to see the screenshots and the full description of an application that has already been downloaded.

Thanks Blackberry team!

  • App World - BIG ISSUES - support provider needed!

    Our support email receives much too many e-mails regarding our application of SoundEffects.  I would really like to work with someone to BlackBerry on fixing these problems.  Here's what has happed because first of all, we have published our application:

    1 SoundEffects v1.0 was released and we began to receive many emails from users of storm sounds complainant has not played

    2. we confirmed that the Simulator has worked but devices have not issues.  The only work is about to set the volume after the sound is played.  There are several positions to a firmware issue and how it was fixed, but Verizon does not seem to get the upgrade.

    3. we take the storm off the coast of the list supported for v1.0

    4. created v1.0.1, which works around the problem to constantly adjust the volume when playing sounds.  Post us this new version and configured to be used only for the storms.

    5. the correction seems to work for new customers.  Impossible to former clients who were on v1.0.  They get the option click on upgrade, but it never downloads and always error.  Some customers get just the button to buy the app again.  It is not good that we have set is a free update.

    6. we get also some emails on how to download apps again or downloads fail to Download Center.  I would like to know how to react to this.  Is there an email support for blackberry App World, because there is nothing we can do to solve these problems.

    I wish I could say this process has been worth, but given the number of purchases compared to all emails we have field for reasons beyond our control – bad firmware, bad downloads, has no updates, etc.  We would like to get a better understanding of how to answer these questions and if there are future improvements that will provide a better end-user for our customers experience.  Thanks for any help you provide.

    I got the word of support from RIM.  It seems that the problems will be solved soon!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Thank you for your e-mail.  I wanted to address a few points/issues you mentioned below and try to bring a light at the end of the tunnel.

    a. the user is impossible to pass your app (connection error message)

    b. the user by not seeing your application when you log into My World

    The 2 above issues have been identified early last week, and we are working on a fix to solve these 2 problems.  We expect to implement it and to live in the next 24-36 hours. Once this fix, users must be able to correctly reconcile their applications purchased by logging into my world, but also to move your application from the old version to the latest version.

    App World is not supported on the BlackBerry smartphone Simulator.  You will need to use a real Smartphone for BlackBerry use.

  • Installation of BlackBerry App World on Simulator

    I try to install App World on a BB9300 Simulator. I open the web browser and follow appworld.blackberry.com OTA installation and the application installs fine. However, when I go to run it, I get the message:

    "The non-operational data service.

  • Back to a version earlier than App World? * urgent *.

    Hey all,.

    One of my apps just released an update that has serious problems. We are looking for a way to restore our previous version as soon as POSSIBLE, but from what I can tell App World does not support this. * Forehead smack *.

    If I disable the compatibility of the devices in all areas, or selectively by device, in the ISV portal, devices that are not listed as compatible will be not shown the previous stable version? If so, how long will it take?

    Thank you!

    Yes, selectively editing the list of devices should work. You might be able to do an intersection of criteria that translates a set of null value. Say, your application is configured to request the OS 5 + and you select only a BB 8700 as supported.

    The App World Server has a cache of 24 hours, and App World customers a cache of 7 days. At worst, 24 hours after changing the compatibility list any attempt to download your version of 'bad' should result in an error.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB App World and 8703e

    First of all, I want to apologize because this question may have been treated in the forums before.  I am new smartphones BB and I don't know too much yet on how to search the forums with precision.  My question: I tried to download BB App World on my phone, so I can start downloading apps and I get the answer that the BB App World does not support units that use the track wheels.  I have here a work around for this problem?  Any help is appreciated.  golddot

    Hello!

    Unfortunately, it is not... Here are the required Configuration page:

    Each requirement must be put... there is no room for manoeuvre.

    The alternative is to browse the catalog of applications from the AppWorld and then look for other ways to obtain them. AppWorld is just a storefront, vending machines for applications that are developed by others. There are many other sources of sales on the internet. You, of course, is limited to assistance of compatibility which provide other sources these vending machines may (or may not).

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry App World Smartphones gives files of the application of the old version of whatsapp

    Hello

    First of all...

    • Your carrier-> OF Vodafone
    • Your BlackBerry model-> Bold 9700
    • Your BlackBerry OS (can be found in the Options->)-> v5.0.0.545
    • Version of App World (can be found by going to Options-> Advanced-> Applications)-> v1.1.0.33
    • If you have BIS or BES (personal use or business use)-> BES

    I bought Whatsapp about 2-3 weeks - at this point Whatsapp performed v2.1.

    A few days ago I resetet my camera (there were some problems with the connection to BIS) and wanted to install whatsapp worldwide app - download worked and everything has been installed very well - but app world give me the files to v2.0.1 but claims to be v2.2 - so whatsapp couldn't initial step correctly and does not work!

    I've already sent with the support of whatsapp and they say that it is a bug in the app world.

    Support WhatsApp: "Yes, it's a bug of AppWorld. He gives files of the application of the old version, but claims that it is the new version. »

    Someone has any idea how to fix this?

    thanking you in anticipation

    Everyone - please read my response above. There is no formal AppWorld press here - zero. If the developer of the app wants to have users try to introduce the issue with RIM, only channel users to do so is through your official support - which is provided by your operator.

    Good luck.

  • Portal provider shows new Description, app world old poster

    I changed the description on my app, and two hours later it was "applied" and closed.  How much time does it takes for reflected changes app World? (Note: its been two hours since its closure)

    I submitted a new description with an update and it took about 5 days from the presentation before the description has changed. Odd part is I changed the photos two days after sending and which has supported in about 2-3 days.

  • Pre-fill devices supported when submitting to the App World?

    Hello

    My application is compatible with all the devices of BBOS5 +, but whenever I release an update that I need to re - check all the device options supported on the supplier portal.  Is it possible to include this information in the bundle?  What will happen if I chose 0 devices?

    In addition, can users on devices that are running an operating system not supported (older) view/download my application if I chose a minimum requirement of OS?

    Thank you

    (1) not at all, unfortunately

    (2) you must select at least 1 device. In general, if you select a device, only users with this device will see your app.

    (3) n ° using App World your application based on OS minimum and selected devices.

    Example: you select minimum OS5.0 supported and all devices - only users with devices OS5.0 will see your app

  • StageWebView - does not support links in the app world

    Anyone who has ideas on how to get StageWebView in your game supporting type links "http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/xxxxx"?

    If you click on one of these links in your html from an instance of StageWebView it reports:

    «Error: the browser doesn't know how to handle web page.»

    This is still part of my quest to provide an easy way to update/display for PlayBook users my other games that are available.  It would be so easy if there was a simple way to open a page of the seller in the app world app of your game.  No really good luck so far.  The idea of StageWebView was great, until I discovered it's the inability to manage the links of appworld.

    OK, so here is how I solved this now:

    private function openAppWorldLink(e:UnknownProtocolEvent):void {
        moreGamesWebView.stop();
        openURL(e.url);
    }

    I add an event listener to the QNXStageWebView to a UnknownProtocolEvent instance.  Who is fired off the power as soon as you click on the link "http://appworld.blackberry.com/blah/blah".

    You can see that I don't then stop any additional load (I did because otherwise you see 'ERROR' screen for a bit, and I thought that ugly).

    I then enter the url of the event and open it upwards (this is just a custom function that basically a call navigateToURL on the url string.

    It works great even if you do not see the error screens, it opens to the top of the page of game in appworld and I can update my html page customized each games change/update.

    Thanks for your suggestion to consider the QNX events!

  • Your smart phone BlackBerry Smartphones does not have system requirements that are needed to support the BB App World

    Hello

    My latest lamp died with a JVM. I just replaced today and I want to retrieve my downloaded applications. After I restored the device of BlackBerry Desktop, any of my downloaded apps are there. I have a brand new 9860, together running 7.1.  I run the App World. He told me to upgrade. When I followed the upgrades of the screen, I get an error message: notice: sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support the BB App World. I have a brand new phone has so first question... I can update App World on Wi - FI. or should I do my first phone company data Plan? I've been running my old phone without data plan but enjoying use BBM and cell phone. Not happy.

    Yes, hopefully soon... I know that the right people are aware of the "incorrect" error message

  • Smart phone BlackBerry Smartphones does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Blackberry App World

    Hello

    I just all new BB Curve 8900 on Vodafone. Its the first BB I've owned and I seem to have a bit of trouble. When I try to download the App World, I get the following error message:

    "Device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Blackberry App World"

    How can this be?

    OK then... interesting for Vodafone to push support far... Well, by I guess.

    So I guess that I change their instructions... rather than to remove an installed version of the AppWorld in the way they suggest, I suggest go to:

    Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications

    See if BB AppWorld is listed as installed. If so, highlight (but do not click) it and then press the BBKey and select Delete. If she wasn't there, then continue on these steps.

    Then do a batt pull reboot:

    With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.

    Then re - activate your THS:

    Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > BBKey > sign up now

    Then re - send all the service books:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02830&SLIC...

    Then do another reboot batt-pop.

    Then, get a new link for AppWorld from here:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/appworld/download.jsp#tab_tab_download

    And re - download and install it.

    I hope it's going to go right. If not, then it could still be useful a call to Vodafone...

    See you soon!

    Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

    If you encounter a problem with the version of BlackBerry World, then download BlackBerry World version 4.0.0.55 which is the best solution now available for BlackBerry World, first uninstall any existing version of the BlackBerry World from your device, options > device > application > locate and remove BlackBerry World, then do a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered.

    After restarting the device from your BlackBerry browser search or click here http://mobileapps.blackberry.com/devicesoftware/entry.do?code=appworld3 to download the 4.0.0.55 version. Also check out this Knowledge Base for assistance:
