Apply transparency to letters in Illustrator

I am trying to apply transparency to the items in a logo I created. Right now, I had lettering on a layer above an opaque circle. I wish that the lettering to show through transparent rather than display them in the form of a separate color at bottom. It might help to think that the logo is an adhesive logo to be attached to a storefront window. Anything white on the logo must be cut and show through the transparent glass behind it.

I tried to use a clipping mask, but the circle disappears, and its color is applied to the registration.

Here is the logo. Help much appreciated.logo.PNG

JCBOSCO,

You can use a mask opacity as follows:

(1) select the letters, which can be direct or outlined letters, grouped together if more than one object, as well as the object to make it transparent

(2) in the transparency palette dialog box, click the unchecked with Clip opacity mask and invert the mask checked.

If you want the two white circles on the sides and/or white central in parts too transparent, you can just group them with the letters (whish can still be live Type) while they are also selected in 1).

You can release the opacity mask and change what you want, then reapply.

Keep the text as a direct Type gives you the opportunity to change your mind on this matter without having to start over.

The best way to do it: import the Illustrator document as a model and blending of check-out from the AE modes.  You hit on one that will do the trick.

    Hi Bertus,

If the logo is composed of different layers in artificial intelligence, maybe you flattened their (by choosing to remove the layers) when importing the file IN Flash. However, you can keep these layers when the import and use of AI file in Flash. Remember to flatten your HAVE deposit when importing into Flash, ie remove HERE all the layers and import the file? If so, try to re-import without flatten the file. Then, the layers will be kept within Flash, and I hope that you can add separate transperency.

Please let me know if that clarifies, otherwise, I'm happy to give you more information and explanations.

  • I have a problem with the path, what is? No effect applied, some new preset in Illustrator? I need to disable

    Screen Shot 2015-07-22 at 19.20.13.png

    ferkomrkvicka,

Two suggestions that may be too far:

You can try to disable the GPU performance by clicking on the icon of the rocket in the bar of the App, or on the top of the menu bar, deselect the box Performance GPU; You may also uncheck performance GPU in your preferences. There are a few problems with the GPU and Adobe are working on them. They should be resolved with the 19.0.1 patch, but some are not. Link to 19.0.1 release notes:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/Illustrator-CC-2015-crash-bug-fixes-19-0-1.html

Try to move or work assigned to scale (a little) and then Ctrl / Cmd + Z to undo, to get it in place. If usable, it is a roundabout way to use until the issue is resolved. or you can turn paste remembers layers in the layers panel, if you can live with the side effects.

    Thank you :-)

    ily

Your photo is for conditional Ligatures, and your answer is correct.

Did you choose your text with the text tool as in the example of tone before unchecking conditional Ligatures? Maybe it's the step that you missed.

Common ligatures found in the menu of the Panel, FYI.

  • Transparent surface in filling

    Hello

I'm new to Illustrator, so you'll have to excuse my newbish question.

I am creating a few letters in illustrator using paths, but I have a problem with the letters like that have an area in the middle of them. When I apply a fill on the outer part of the a it fills the centre aswell. I was wondering how to get the central part to be transparent, it just goes right to the background. I've attached a picture to show you.

    I use Ilustrator CS5.

    Kind regards.

  • Transparency, overlapping and object

    Hello

I am trying to solve a problem as when you change the opacity of an asset.

    Here's my pirate:

    pirate1.jpg

When I design my stuff in illustrator, I tend to only mind not draw accurately what is visible, as you can see here:

    pirate2.jpg

Now, I mean to have this character disappeared into the background of the illustration. When I select the whole pirate image and drop the opacity, there are hidden below forms that become visible and you lose the image a bit:

    pirate3.jpg

So my question; Y at - it an option to choose where everything that is hidden is deleted, so nothing is behind another form and reduces the opacity of my pirate without a change in its appearance?

I hope I've explained my question pretty much, any help will be appreciated!

Try to group the objects and apply transparency to the group.

  • Shading (vs transparency)

Hi all! I did research to find out how to do this, but I keep getting stuff that is much more complicated that I'm looking. I guess the word "Shadow" is what is shake my search.

Anyway, in InDesign... you can take a solid... and you can make 50% transparent. You call also do a 50%

shade of the original color (which, then, is not transparent). How should I do shading in Illustrator? I can't just do a 50% color by applying transparency that him.

    Thank you!

    Julie

For a tint of a color sample should be defined as a global color.

  • Layer of transparency in InDesign?

I was wondering if there is the ability to apply transparency to an entire layer (layers panel) in InDesign (similar to Illustrator)? Or I have to select each item on my workspace to change their transparency?

    ... I have CS4

    Thank you kindly.

No, transparency is not a property of a layer in InDesign. Layers in InDesign are mainly groups of objects in the stacking order of objects on a page. Layers as a whole can be locked, not displayed or not printed.

  • Transparency on the converted forms

    Hello

I use this effect in the appearance Panel to create copies of the form that overlap. I was wondering if it is possible to set the transparency of the copied form so that you can see the shapes under it.

Apply transparency settings to fill only (and not the object).

  • using transparency multiply with spot colors

Does anyone know if spot colors can be used with transparency are multiplying in illustrator CC. I want to create a third color of pieces that overlap / two forms of spot color printing?

Not agree with John, you just have to watch you preview separations to get your answer. Here the 7691 dark blue gradient is on multiply on 7688 blue light, so we get more degraded rich e, rather than the color is dull where the 2 colors meet.

At the same appearance with CMYK, showing that Nothing's going to CMYK.

Nothing else in CMYK mode, except for the black
