Apps launch in Windows 8

Just purchased, downloaded and installed Windows 8.  So far, the only application that I've been able to launch is cards.  None of the live tiles and closed everything right back to the start screen when I try to launch them properly.  I think that is maybe a problem of display driver support but not sure.  I am running 2 Radeon HD 6950 s in crossfire but windows 8 does not seem to be properly recognize them.  The latest drivers refuse to install as well.  Install the latest AMD Catalyst drivers refuses to start, either.   There is a 24 hours support number that I can contact?  Really need help here.

I might be able to help you here. Your antivirus is more likely to block applications, preventing them from opening.

For example, I had this problem when Avast running. Deactivation of shields for 10 minutes and going back to one of the causes applications that they can work again.

My Windows Mail app stopped working, so I deleted and tried to download a new one. Then, after a while, I get a message: can't install, error 0x80072ee2

Had the same Message on other applications too

Can someone help me with this?

Not sure if this will help, but my wife became the circle of perpetual rotation trying to launch the app store in Windows 8. We loaded 8.1 to Windows, and then always the same error except that we started having error 0x80072ee2 when it would be dismissed. After trying the "WSReset" and powershell scripts and many other suggestions that I found online, I finally found the cause.

While the application screen is in place (not), go to right and make appear the parameters. Choose Change PC settings. Then choose network, then choose Proxy. There is a point 8.1 of Windows setting which is "use a proxy server". For us who turned and he should not have been. Turned it off and the app store expenses very well now.
We could browse internet and other property before this change. The only behavior was that we couldn't get the app store to load.
Hope this helps you and or other.

  • Please free App Firefox for Windows Phone.

Please free App Firefox for Windows Phone. Thanks

The very low market share with Windows Phones, it is not worth to spend money and essential resources to make a mobile version of Firefox for these devices.

Mozilla has versions for Windows Mobile starts a few years ago but as would have stopped due to low users.

    http://www.windowscentral.com/just-1-market-share-why-are-OEMs-choosing-Windows-10-mobile

Initially when Mozilla experimented with a mobile browser they did with Windows mobile OS while she was Minimo. Mozilla later changed to Android as the platform for mobile Firefox.

  • Ban the lifelog app launch

    Hello
I would like to ban the lifelog app launch when I tap my phone using NFC on my SmartBand. It is especially annoying because I use the SmartBand to unlock my phone. Is this possible?

As much as I know it is not possible without the use of 3rd party software. Would be possible using a kind of task killer, but I wouldn't recommend that these tend to do more harm then good.

Windows Vista: When I try to start Firefox I get! "Error launching browser window: No XBL binding for browser". I get this msg of error only with launch ff. Chrome 9 and IE 8 without problem.  What should do?

@Syed: though even this link is very old-info, I took the advice of completely uninstall FF and then redownload and reinstall. That solved the problem. So thank you!

  • Respond to create/customize a toolbar in Windows 7 (replaces the quick launch for Windows XP)

After several hours, with many MS research and research on google to try to get the famous and beautiful Quick Launch Toolbar that no longer exists in Windows 7, I thought it after 3 hours.  Here's how:

    Create a toolbar

    -----------------------

    1. create a folder on your system

    2. right click on the taskbar, select toolbar, select the new toolbar

    3. new toolbar - select displays a file dialog box

    4. Select the folder created in step 1-based

    Customize the toolbar

    -------------------------------

    1. right click on the taskbar

    2. click on bar tasks unlock

    3. right click on the new toolbar

    4. menu popup appears

    5. click on title of show (allows the user to hide the name of the toolbar, which is of the Deb Toolbar)

    6. right click again on new toolbar

    7. click on the text (allows to hide the name of the icon, IE.) Microsoft Office Word 2007)

    8. right-click again on new toolbar

    9. click on view (allows the user to change the size of the icons on the toolbar)

    10 lock the toolbar

When I spent many hours and kept getting the Quick Launch bar does not exist in this version, it is true; HOWEVER, you can get everything too close with a custom toolbar.  No answer came close to telling how to customize a toolbar, but only how to create a toolbar.  Originally, I had posted a question, but then found an answer and thought that after having no chance he is on this site that I post the answer.

So I hope this helps anyone who has upgraded to Windows 7 missing and are looking for this bar Quick Launch bar.  This is the closest you're going to get.

No more frustrated.  NOTE TO MICROSOFT: The search engine provided by MS, you stick with your terminology.  I can't tell you how many times I reformulated my search with your terminolog and kept getting "taskbar" vs "toolbar."  The most I could get it is how to create a toolbar, and that's all.  Then you wonder why users get frustrated and I want to just throw it out the window (no pun intended - perhaps although YES).

    Deb

    Thanks for the tip!

  • Windows 7 will be available to buy after the launch of Windows 8?

As that provider OEM and the support of many local businesses, would we be able to always purchase and supply Windows 7 with new computers instead of Windows 8 following the launch of Windows 8, as we have done with XP during the launch of Vista?

You will always be able to acquire Windows 7 upwards to 2 years after the release of Windows 8.

Windows 8 Pro will also include downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional.

  • I uninstalled the App STore of Windows 8 (and some others). How do I get it back?

I uninstalled the APP STORE of WINDOWS 8 (and some others). How do I get it back?

Thank you very much! It is very easy to find. I also discovered that just by clicking you will find a lot of information - for instance if you right click on to the bottom in the left corner, where the Start button should be, a menu will appear with Control Panel, search, run and all sorts of things. If you right-click on any web page a menu will appear, much like with a print on file menu, save as, send to and more. If you right-click on the search bar (top) charms button all programs on your computer will display. Maybe Windows 8 is not if badly but sometimes I can't find an arrow to the left or even the task bar or the address bar and it's still boring. I also hope that the Start button was left where it has been for twenty years with all programs, etc. Well, I guess that's what they call progress... Thanks for your help - I am really grateful for this forum

  • Get the error code 0 x 80070002 when try to install apps from the app store for Windows 8

When I try to install apps from the app store for windows 8, I get an error code 0 x 80070002. I have a Lenovo laptop.

I had this problem and I have searched and searched for a solution. Finally, what worked for me was creating a new account, don't use do not account the store put in place.

    1. make a new account with a different email address and

    2. move all the information that you have your first account to the new account.

    3. delete the first account and create a new account with the first e-mail.

    4. once do you move all the programs and files back into this account and delete the account with the different email address.

This is what worked for me. He was very involved, but doing it this way is not reset your desktop settings and others. You can search the exact solution I described above, because I did it in February and I don't know that I've linked all the steps correctly.

  • Cannot install and update the apps store of windows 8

Cannot install and update the apps store of windows 8. When I click the button install is not install only loadin. Plese help me.

After trying all suggestions from several sites, I found that the problem is that the Firewall window must be running in order for the applications to install.   If you are running Windows 8 Pro, go to the desktop and click on "My computer" and double click on 'manage '.  In the window on the left side computer management, expand "Services and Applications".   Click on 'Services', in the Center window, scroll down to "Windows Firewall" right click on "Windows Firewall" and click "Properties".  If the Startup Type is "disabled", click to drop down and select "Automatic".  At this point, you can click on 'Start' under the service status.  Once the Windows Firewall is started, you should be able to start installing and or update your apps from the app store.

  • Closure of the Apps in the Windows start screen

Looks like it should be simple enough, but I didn't understand how to close a windows splash screen application. I hit the windows button on my keyboard, go in the office, Ctrl-alt-del and end task. There must be an easier way.

    Hi Candace,

You can also read the following steps to close an application.

Step 1: Press the keys Alt + F4 (F4 function key) on your keyboard.

Step 2: To completely stop all processes related to an application, drag the application to the bottom of the screen and hold until the app turns.

See the following for more information Microsoft article.
