• Problem with the EMU 9 and App volume 2.10

  I'm surprised that no one else has made the experience... but if you have 9 EMU with App volume 2.10 any stacked application that connects to an external system like vsphere client, Remote Desktop Manager, xming or similar opens but you get what looks like a firewall, dns on winsock error.   I tried the following while Troubleshooting which lead me to discover the EMU 9 > 2.10 AppVolumes question.  Do not forget that all the problems described were nonexistent before the upgrade to the EMU 9.

  1. create new vm of capture for the volumes of the app
  2. created piles of individual application for customer xming, DRC, termnals, vpshere
  3. created a desire unique appstack applications
  4. installed applications on the write-able volume with the same results
  5. remove all agents and install them in the correct order
  6. 9 removing MEU... Bingo appstacks work
  7. tested all combinations of the appstacks and they work all all users as EMU 9.0 is not installed.

  I don't have app blocking (its off by default) and I don't think that there are other settings in EMU who wanted to have that effect.  I also looked around and found no problem of compatibility between the EMU 9 and volume 2.10 on any doc App.

  I'm going to downgrade the agent of EMU on the endpoints to 8.7 and test

  AppVolumes Version 2.5.2.1187 installation I get an error after that installation is complete.  When I run the shortcut to access the Manager, I get "could not start the Volumes App Manager could not load this file - tiny_tds" uninstall this version and reinstall 2.5.0 it works fine once more.

  So a few reductions in John Kramer at VMware, we solved the 2.5.2 install problem.  We were able to get 2.5.2 running with a SQL express installed on my server that has led us to question what was wrong with the server sql2012.  The new test, I removed App Volumes leaving the sqlexpress installed and reinstalled pointing to 2012.  Meanwhile, I checked something that before, I had noticed that the system DSN for the svmanager were not created during the installation process.  Finally, suggested John blow up in the database and start from scratch.

  1. Blew the DB original we created on our server SQL2012
  2. Updated the SQL account too to have rights of creator of DB
  3. Uninstalled AppVolumes
  4. Cleared all ghost data from the previous installation in program files and registry information, and program confirmed were clean
  5. Rebooted the system
  6. reinstalled 2.5.2 as service account
  7. The SQL account to create a new database on my server sql2012.
  8. Confirmed the system DSN has been created and filled.
  9. Rebooted and checked everything was working

  I have been recently UEM9, AppVol 2.10 in my environment of Horizon 7 on some Machines Windows 7 Linked Clone (systems no-no intentionally) initially the connection time was around 30secs with Agent display 7, UEM9, AppVol 2.10 installed with a mandatory profiles with the folder redirection MSFT (Windows 7), but as I expanded stable about 30 user... and they started to use the system on a regular basis I started to do & see logins for one more minute. Nothing has changed in my environment and the material is extremely less use so Im trying to figure out what is causing the delay in the connection. Does anyone else know extremely long connections using UEM9?

  I could solve this problem by updating 10.0.6 to 10.0.8 vmware tools. This login corrected and the performance of the virtual desktop.

• CRM using SQL database in an environment of small business often inaccessible with the following error message

  This is my first time on this forum so bear with my ignorance!  I'll expose the background of my setup and then explain the error.

  We have a small business with a server running SBS2011 and PC running Windows 8 and 8.1 connected to the server in a domain environment.

  We use a CRM product called Emu Tall that uses SQL Server 2008 R2 on the server for the database and the PC run a local application that connects to this database.

  On a daily basis, but completely randomly and sometimes several times a day, a user will try and open the application on a PC and get the following error message.

  Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlEnum, Version = 10.0.0.0, Culture = neutral, PublicKeyToken = 89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the specified file.

  At first, I thought it must be a matter of waiting time as it seemed to happen every morning, but I've proved since that it occurs at any time of the day and is apparently unrelated to amount of users or idle time or something like that.

  Here's another oddity that hopefully sheds some light on it. If I go to the server and open the CRM application on the server, it works very well since it is only the PC that have the connection problem.  In addition, as soon as I connected to the server of any PC can connect immediately (until it happens again later in the day).  I don't need to stay connected to the server, connect one time and close the session and he "fixed" it for a few hours for all PC users.

  I contacted the CRM vendor, and they are completely confused and have no idea what to do.

  The albums predefined in the Photos on a Mac are sorted differently, in order to have different ways to access your photos.

My mini2 ipad works great with the same son and TV.  I tried two ipads with different TV but get the same result. The ipad mini works OK if not connected to the TV. Two minis are working on the same operating system setting.

  The Digital AV adapter can be finnicky.

  Have you tried simply unplug and plug the adapter with the HDMI cable connected with it?

  With the adapter always plugged into your iPad, have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by pressing the sleep/wake and Home buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to the dark and restarts with the Apple logo, then release them buttons?
