• Keyboard shortcut for a Page break

  Hello

  I use InDesign Version 20141 on a Macbook Pro.  Operating system is OS X 10.10

  I like to use the Page Break option, located in the Type Menu.  When I enter the keyboard shortcut on my Macbook Pro laptop, it does not.  So I went to change the shortcut, but asked if I want to create a new set of shortcuts.  That sounds complicated to me and I wonder why the default shortcut does not work.   Is there something special about the use of a computer laptop mac that prevents the shortcut to work?

  On a MacBook Pro laptop (that I use as well), there is no dedicated enter key because there is no numeric keypad.

  Page Break (Type > Insert Break character) is command + Enter.

  You can do this on your keyboard by adding the SHIFT key. It would be the command + shift + enter.

  It is not difficult to set up your own set of shortcuts. Just give it a name, like "Patrick shortcuts" and choose it instead of the game by default, which cannot be changed.

• Keep options avoid the page breaks between consecutive paragraphs

  Why ID CS5 will place a page break * between * separate paragraphs? My unbreakable options are set for 2/2 at the beginning and at the end of paragraphs. But obviously, I want the page breaks occur * between * consecutive paragraphs. In other words, I want two lines to be kept together on one page from the beginning or the end of a paragraph. But I don't want all the 4 lines, those two paragraphs to be kept together. Yes, it's that fact ID. He asks me to insert manual page breaks between consecutive paragraphs that fall naturally to a page break.

  Is there maybe some hangover of MS Word code that is originally for this? I can't understand.

  Do you have something to keep with Next? or are you the Dungeon with the Previous buttons checked?

  I try to get the text, which was placed near the end of a page, to break to a new page, but I can't get this to work.

  I have a subform, called FOOTER_TEXTS, and containing 3 text fields, just below and outside the content area of 'HAND' and just above a fixed (static) subform called COMPANY_FOOTER.

  The JavaScript code you see is just there to make sure FOOTER_TEXTS is printed only on the last page.

  I have all 3 text fields in FOOTER_TEXTS the value "Allow multiple lines" and the height is set to "Expand to fit" but the ability to "Allow Page breaks in the content" is gray in the subform and all 3 text fields, with result the text in the COMPANY_FOOTER subform are overwritten.

  What I would like is the 3 fields of FOOTER_TEXTS text to be printed on the bottom of the last page, just above the COMPANY_FOOTER subform, and I want the text to break to a different page, if necessary.

  Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to work?

• Merger of option buttons that are on separate pages and contained in the same subform

  My question can best be described as follows:

  1. I have a two page (form) document... PAGE A and PAGE B, which are considered as subforms.

  2 page A is set on "flowed - high to low" and has a total of 4 pages when rendered.

  3 A page PAGE 1 contains a group of buttons radio Page 2 contains also a group of radio buttons that should be part of the radio group on page 1, but due to the design running to a second page, it does not.

  4. in view of the foregoing, I am looking for a way to "merge" the games of buttons two radio one, while they remain on separate pages. I know you can merge the Group of exclusive radio buttons that are on the SAME page, but I did not understand how to proceed when they reside on different pages. At first, I was able to do work by giving the two groups of radio the same name and the same parameter of overall liaison, but it became a question with question #5 below.

  5 PAGE also has an ' Add' button which creates a new instance of A PAGE, when you press on. Having the option button global value binding, it automatically value groups radio every time that a new instance of the subform is/has been created... who must be provided.

  The question now is... is there a way to separate radio button group merge two that are on separate pages and they have still work properly as new instances of the subform are created?

  You can probably achieve this by writing script...

  If you want to exclude two radio buttons that are on separate pages:

  (1) change them boxes. and bottom of properties...

  Appearance: Solid circle

  Check the Style: Circle.

  In this way they looks like you are using a radio button.

  (2) write the script to the Click event of the checkbox to disable the check box on the second page.

  Page2.CheckBox2.RawValue = 0; (Or what ever you want when it is not checked.

  (3) Similarly, write code in the Click event of the checkbox in the second page.

  Page1.CheckBox1.RawValue = 0; (Or what ever you want when it is not checked.

  (4) write the code below in the initialization event of each check box, as below...

  The Initialize event Page1.checkBox1

  If (this.rawValue == "1") {//(Or what ever value you want when it is checked.

  Page2.CheckBox2.RawValue = 0;

  }

  The Initialize event Page2.checkBox1

  If (this.rawValue == "1") {//(Or what ever value you want when it is checked.

• Numbers of PDF 1053-1067, but there are only 15 pages. How to explain this?

  Why page numbers is not order from 1-15? Also the page numbers on the actual PDF interface does not match the actual numbering on the scan. I don't think it's a bug. It may be more than one feature that I've never met before.

  It depends on what created the pdf file and how it was created. Tell someone exported the pdf from InDesign file, it will use the page numbers that are used in the document. There could be a variety of reasons, that the page numbers in a document, InDesign (and other types of document) are not simply labelled 1-15.

  Improving the management of multiple line text fields is in our plans, but for now, you need to add manual carriage return (Enter).

  Where can I find what functions are part of the OLAP option, which I'm not allowed to use without the extra cost of option?

  Not sure, what comes to my mind is such function as LISTAGG, CUBE, PARTITION BY and the like, but I would like a complete set so that we can ask our developers to avoid using functions that require an additional license.

  None of the ones you mention are part of the OLAP option.

  The official license https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/license.112/e47877.pdf document describes which includes the option.

  If you do not have him a license, then just make sure that it is not installed in the databases you create.

  Assuming you're on Windows, try changing the following preferences

  • Documents: series "Show the documents in PDF/A mode" Never
  • (Protection): Disable "protected at Startup Mode.

• Insert Page breaks in Documents

  I need to insert page breaks in some documents and cannot find information on how to do it.  On win 98 it was control (enter) but this does not work on Vista.  Can someone help me on this stupid problem, please?  I would be Greatful SO I can at least do SOMETHING with Vista!

  Without knowing the program, it is impossible to tell you how to make a page break (they are all different).  Notepad or Wordpad supports the pagebreak feature (CTRL-enter as you say for Microsot Word {version today as well} and a few others that I wasn't aware that it worked in Windows 98 supplied "processing" programs more than it does today).  Maybe you were using a different program, and then (as Word or WordPerfect or Works or something like that).

  If you have no Microsoft Office (so do not Microsoft Word), then I strongly suggest you download the OpenOffice free at www.openoffice.org , which reflects a large part of the core functionality of the Office (with the exception of Outlook) and has a program called writer which is a program of processing excellent - better by far than what comes with Vista.  It can even open and work with Microsoft Office documents (even those of 2007 and I believe that the beta of 2010).  It will certainly have a page break function (as well as MANY other features that come with the office suites only expensive (but again, this is free and despite this, it is excellent).)  If you do not have Microsoft Office or another suite purchased offfice, then I HIGHLY recommend you download and use this set of programs instead of what comes with Vista (although there are times when what you really need is an option such as Notepad - cheap and Notepad is also good for making batch script files if you are into that sort of thing).  But if you do a real word processor, you must definitely pass.  If you go, try CTRL + entry for a page break and if that is not working then check page break in helping get the correct keyboard command - but I bet it's the same thing.

  Don't be too upset that this means that you need a 3rd party program "do something with Vista.  OpenOffice is so much better that it is not yet a comparison value.  The truth is that products delivered with Vista are just not as good as some of those available on the open market (be it for a price or sometimes free).  I happen to love Vista Center backup and restore (but it's really good in more expensive versions of Vista (business and above)- and yet, there is a 3rd best product part out there for that as well (Acronis: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ but it is not free).)

  There are some Vista programs that may be useful.  Some people use Microsoft Mail and Microsoft Contacts as long as their email client (and customer contact) - Although many who start this way switch to Microsoft Live Mail (it's a little better than Microsoft Mail), and of course, if you have Microsoft Office, you should definitely switch to Outlook (which is MUCH better, but it costs money that the Office is not free).  As a free alternative, many use Mozilla Thunderbird http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ as, yet once, it is a better product with more features and options (and it's free Unlike Outlook).  The program Microsoft Search in Vista is very good if you take the time to learn how to use wisely and has need of no alternative.

  Remember that none of these other programs would work without Windows Vista (or some other OS) behind it - so it does not serve an important purpose.  You wouldn't be able to post on this site without Vista and a browser.  If you use Internet Explorer, it's kind of like using Vista because version 7 comes with Vista and cannot be added or removed (it's part of the base OS) - If you're probably using IE8 that was the upgrade (and a value of upgrade).

• Page break problems

  I have a multipage document that is part of a more general ledger where the pages keep break apparently at random. Even when there is a lot of space, it will break mid-sentence.

  

  Keep options are all currently turned off, I tried it on, off, nothing seems to help, there is No here hard page breaks and what happens to me several times.

  What's going on here and how can I stop it?

  Not in this picture they are. It clearly shows "solidarity: 2 lines", and so it is that ID. You probably have similar settings for the following paragraphs as well.
