My listings guide stopped to update almost a week ago. I tried to configure my guide new ads as well as Media Center.

A manual update today and it worked.

  • How can I turn off the guide in windows media center?

I recently downloaded the guide in windows media center, and I want to disable it or uninstall it now.

Go on settings, click general, and then go to the automatic download options and uncheck both options, save.

This will stop him to download or update the predefined settings.

Another parameter would be general and click on start up and the behavior of windows, uncheck the box open with windows, save.

That it will take off from the list of start menus.

  • Program guide Windows 7 media Center not updated

We have very little data to guide our Guide was date of 01/01/13 end 22:00 it's DVB-S Astra 28.2 East, 250282 Im in the United Kingdom. We have a few bits of information of courses and the next on 3 or 4 channels BBC1 Channel 4 etc, but that's all.

I reread the TV signals, deleted the directory epglistings and re downloaded, I ran the ObjectStoreRecoveryTask, I ran MC Update, Ive tried to disable the firewall. The data seem to download but Media Center does not load the data. Nothing works.  I cannot now schedule new recordings or much to watch TV Online. I spent hours trying to understand what is happening.
UPDATE: seems to me now have the curriculum and the next to most of the channels but nothing further.  The guide to update really slowly?  If I leave it will pick up the data possibly?

    Yes, should work now.

  • Guide to Windows Media Center TV shows what's on, on any given station

    * Original title: my TVguide WMC shows what's on, on any given station (now and after) after clicking on the aforementioned station. (No further than the following is no longer available)

    Hello

I have windows 7 (64-bit) and I use WMC with a satellite dish (for free-to-air) channels.
I have an internet connection on the PC (I use it to make this post) and the PC is not running and connected to the internet 24/7.
The issue I'm having is that my TVguide WMC shows what's on, on any given station (now and after) after that clicking on the aforementioned station. (No further than the following is no longer available)
This means that I can't record or see what's on. I tried to update the guide (or re-install) and no luck I read all the blogs I can find on the issue and none of them have been the solution to my problem.
The standard options guide do not appear to be available in my version of WMC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards

  • Download Windows Media Center in Windows XP Home Edition?

I want to download Windows Media Center in Windows XP Home Edition. I can do or do I have to install Windows XP Media Center Edition? If I install XP Media Center Edition can just move from Windows XP Home Edition?
    Thank you!

There is no such thing as a download of MCE to XP Pro or home.

You may be able to find an upgrade, if you search the Web.

Operating system upgrades are not a good way to go, always better to have the full version.

Since MCE is an older version, you can find now a lot cheaper than it used to be.

  • Microsoft is aware that the guide in Windows Media Center programs is no longer up-to-date?

original title: MICROSOFT to KNOW THAT THE PROGRAM GUIDE IN WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER IS 'n' IS MOST UPDATE (LOTS of MESSAGES ABOUT it online)

Microsoft is aware of the fact that the guide in Windows Media Center programs is no longer up-to-date? There are a lot of posts about it on this problem in the section "The Green Button" of your web site and seems to be a problem that happened recently in all areas with all Media Center users. Data Guide for everyone runs 18:00 December 26.

There has been many threads open in Microsoft Connect with no response from Microsoft to one of them.

  • Guide to Windows Media Center (Vista x 64) will not download

The Windows Media Center TV guide stopped downoading automatically. When I try to load it manually nothing happens at all.  The Guide is now Virgin complelety (each channel does say "No data found") so I can't save this upcoing view shows, nothing.

    I found the answer here:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7itpromedia/thread/e123068e-8ac4-4e37-AF97-691b408582a6

    In particular, follow these steps:

This happens because the mcupdate.exe process, downloading tv setup data, is not active which should have run automatically during the installation of the tv. So make a shortcut on the desktop with this path "C:\Windows\ehome\mcupdate.exe-manuel - nogc Pei" and run it. Everything will be fine.

  • Cannot download for Media Center tv guide - says download but no results?

Media Center seeems to work properly on the new Windows 7. No problem with the display of television channels or other records, but I can't seem to get a guide to download. The program says the guide is obsolete and you propose to download the ads but never seems to finish and no descriptions or check names are displayed. How can I fix this?

    Hi mcfat,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    (1) you get an error during the download?

For now I suggest you to download the latest announcements of guide manually and see if it gives any error or that the download is finished successfully.

Follow the steps below to download the lists guide manually.

You can configure Windows Media Center Guide lists auto update, but you can also download the latest Guide information manually.

    Method 1:

    1. on the start screen, go to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then get latest Guide listings.

    2. When prompted, select Yes to begin to download the Guide listings. You are notified when the update of the Guide is complete. You can continue to use Windows Media Center and the Guide while new Guide information is being downloaded.

Access the link below for more information on the above steps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/download-updated-Guide-listings-in-Windows-Media-Center

If you have any question by downloading manually too, then try Method 2 and see if that can deal with the issue.

    Method 2:

    (1) close Media Center
    2) click on the start menu, choose run and type cmd
    (3) run the command regsvr32.exe atl.dll
    (4) run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched /unregServer
    (5) run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched
    (6) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /unregServer command
    (7) run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr
    (8) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /unregServer command
    (9) executes the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe/regserver
    (10) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /unregServer command
    (11) runs the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe/regserver
    (12) restart the computer
    (13) restart Media Center

If the problem persists, look for any similar error you get during the download in the link below and let us know what it is to continue troubleshooting.

  • Canadian station guide listings in Media Center

I use Media Center for quite some time now watch television in Blaine, WA, 98230. The TV in Media Center guide works well. There were about 5 digital visible Canadian stations compared to a visible American station. But when Canadians arrested tranmitting analog TV on 01/09/2011, they also changed their frequencies on some of their digital stations.  Zap2it (the company that assembles the Media Center guide) did not have this solved yet. Because they have bad matches between stations, I was able to add 2 Canadian workstations to the Media Center. There are 7 entry in my computer when I use different software to analyze and visualize.  Media Center is an excellent program, but became unusable for TV applications for where I'm located.

  • can I download windows media center

is then where can I get

    Hi Alain,

Windows Media Center is a feature that is inside Windows and you could not download it separately. If your edition of Windows comes with media center, then you might find it in the menu start otherwise, you must run edition as Windows Media Center, included in this document, which is Windows XP Media Edition.

However, you might consider getting a Windows 7 that is running Windows Media Center.

  • help on the re - download windows media center!

When I got my PC he had Media Center but it just stopped working...

Can you help me. my PC was just recovered form a bad virus because he moved to my files on my backup drive. So my media center does not work and I can't find any web link that will allow me to re - download.

Microsoft you can send me a file if you can?

Unless you use one of the versions of Windows 7 K/N/KN, WMC is a basic Windows component that is already built-in.  This is why there is no download necessary.

Instead, you do these two steps [they are the closest thing possible to uninstall then reinstall WMC & will actually provide a new installation of WMC]

14.1 discharge WMC - Panel, programs and features, Windows features turn on [left] on or off, media features, clear box Windows Media Center, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

14.2 recharge WMC - Control Panel, programs and features, [left] turn features on or off, Windows multimedia functions, set the Windows Media Center checkbox, Yes, OK, restart the PC.
