Aspire 5253 series

My Aspire 5253 series does not illuminate. I need to replace the battery or the power supply? Or both?

I found my answer. Removed the battery and the computer started with the power supply is plugged in. Looks like the battery is bad.

  • Acer Aspire 5253 Sluuggish acting

I'm trying to fix Acer Aspire 5253 a friend. It came with Win 7, which has been altered, so I installed Win 8.1. He worked for a while and then refused to start so I reinstalled Win 8.1. It worked well, but now is sluuggish, taking too long to respond to commands from the keyboard. When I go online to a news article it freezes when I try to scroll to the bottom of the page. Windows says that internet Explorer is unresponsive. When I try to restore the same web page. This has happened on two successive days. I discovered after installing Win 8.1 that Acer does not support Win 8.1 for this laptop. However, it supports 8 Win, & I have been informed that Win 8.1 should work. I found scan with HD Tune recently that the hard drive has 40 bad sectors, according to the most recent analysis 41 today. Makes it sound like I should forget Win 8.1 and reinstall Win 7, buy a new hard drive, or is there another solution? Antivirus software is updated and a complete analysis of the system shows no malware. All Windows updates have been downloaded & installed. I tried to update all the drivers, but in each case, said that the best driver is already installed.

buy a new HARD drive in my opinion.

Of course, it sounds like a hardware problem, not a a Windows.

  • my laptop fell to the bottom of the acer aspire 5253

After the slaughter, I logged in but when I turned on, he gave me notice that I have to start with disk recommending that it cannot start because it is no bootable disk. Can someone help me what I need to do?

Seems to me that you'll need a repair or replacement of equipment.  There are several things that could cause this error, but I guess that something on the laptop is damaged: the hard drive, connection is the motherboard, something else, and how much it will cost is impossible to say.

    Good luck!

  • Definitions of key Acer 5253

After having been screwed on a TIME TOO MANY and wasted a lot of time due to inadvertently clicking on a Fn key and completely disable certain features of the base system, I try to find documentation exactly what it are all the nasty little keys Fn for the Acer Aspire 5253.  You would think that I have found this with a simple websearch or a search in the Acer support site, but you would be wrong.  What I found instead is an absurdity of waste of time much more in the form of a generic manual for Acer (everything that is in the Acer area support for the 5253) whose key mappings have nothing to do with reality and a lot of craziness on the installation and Launch Manager, which requires a download and decompression and a backflip and a plie , a reboot and STILL does nothing running.  So I ask you, as a last resort to write an oath of blood to never buy another product Acer: where can I find the Fn for the Acer Aspire 5253 keys?  I don't want to change them, I don't want to do something with them, I just want to know what they are doing (allegedly), so that the next time that some incredibly vital system functions cease, I'll at least have an idea that affects Fn to use to unscrew, rather than randomly by clicking on the Fn keys and thus more hugging me even worse.

Don't know if this will help but...

On the support page for document downloads 5253, there is also a "Quick Start Guide" available (aka Aspire Notebook Series Quick Guide).  It has a page on the uses of the hotkey, for example Fn + Fx.

    GMD,

We have removed the SNID of your post to keep your personal information private, but I was able to determine that your model is an AS9413Z. I can also confirm that the unit will support a maximum of 2 GB of RAM to our specifications.

    Hope this helps,

  • Aspire BIOS 1414WLMi

    Hi all

I searched for weeks for an answer to this, but no luck.  So I hope that someone here will be able to help.

I have an old 1414WLMi book sucks (since 2005).  He came out with BIOS version a 3, 06, and I've updated from 3 to 10.

When I do a check of numebr series on the site Acer he tells me it's an Aspire 1410, so it fits in this category.  The older version of BIOS that I find on the site is 3108, and the most recent is 3314.

When I try to update the BIOS 3108 or 3314 (of Windows), I get an error saying that Insydeflash is not supported and an other error message on IHISI something or other.  When I try to update BACK I get an error about an interruption of process 10: 00.

I tried updating using the Fn + Esc, but I just get a continuous flow of 3 beeps (one long, two short).

How can I get these updated BIOS up-to-date?  (I want to install Windows 7 and he told me that my BIOS is not ACPI compatible and I should update).  I have a feeling that he must have had a BIOS update some time back, somewhere between version 3 has 10 and 3108, which activated the function Insydeflash.  But I had no luck finding it.

    * Extra info: I contacted Acer in South Africa and they tell me that the BIOS versions listed on the site (3108-3314) are only released versions.  That cannot be, because it is very clear that my BIOS is currently 3 to 10 which is not on the list.  They were not much help.

I've updated the 1.25 GB RAM and it works quite happy.  He got the original Windows XP with SP3 now.  I just did a system restore is back to factory.

    Look forward to your comments!

There are two versions of the Aspire 1410 series.  Those with LCD 11.6 "is the latest system and what you seem to be looking on the page drivers.  BIOS for this system are the 31xx versions.

LCD 15.4 version "of the system, which is the oldest circa 2005, includes a series of BIOS which is 3Axx.

The two BIOS are not flashable-Cross and are intended for different systems.

Please understand that, due to the age of the systems LCD 15.4 ", we do not support Windows 7 above.

We have published only Windows XP drivers for this system.

  • Acer Aspire 5742 G died. I think the BIOS is damaged because all I get is a blank screen.

I was a heavy task on my other laptop and I wanted more RAM, so I decided out of the 4gigs of my Aspire 5742 G only to find out that this is not not a 4 × 1 GB of RAM (instead a 2x2gb DDR3). All I've done is out of RAM, I saw that it was only 2gigs and put in (nothing else, I know my way around computers quite). Then I thought to share work on the network, only to find out that my Aspire 5742 G will not start. Nothing. Not eveb the Acer logo appears. Access to the hard drive led is always off (not a single blink). Terrified. I thought it would be to display, but like I said the HARD drive light flashes once again.

So I jumped to Google. Discovered it probably a BIOS problem. So I downloaded the BIOS Acer will, comes to be welcomed with a ZIP file of gibberish. I have no idead how to use this ZIP to update my BIOS. The exe file is not good as the PC starts no and all other methods seem unlikely given the boot selection is not yet possible.

Can someone please guide me to the right maybe average to refresh my BIOS?

    Thanks in advance,

It may be almost impossible to diagnose a problem remotely, I hazard a guess and suggest that your problem has nothing to do with your BIOS.

Given your description of your actions, I would recommend you check and double-check your RAM seats. Also, make sure there is no damage to the socket. There is also the probability that static was able to destroy the RAM. You may need to try known good RAM to exclude this possibility.

It is not always possible to update a BIOS if there is a hardware problem.

Of course, I can't risk a BIOS Setup until there is absolutely no doubt that a problem does not exist elsewhere. If an update attempt fails, you might find yourself worse. In short, make sure that your RAM and the seating is 100% before looking elsewhere. Your choice of courses.

  • Windows 7, re - install the new hard drive was a success, but I now get guests that it is not valid, and I need to buy Windows 7

From January 2013, after a series of about 13 automatic updates, Windows 7 hang in the boot process.  Using the repair function of the system on the Windows 7 installation disc, I was able to select a restore point at the beginning and Windows would be operated until I chose shutdown and updates would be automatically install 13 updates and then freeze at startup.  Finally, in a workaround, I would choose standby extended instead of shutdown until the system would break down after 10 days.    After going through this loop until the end of February, I bought a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 again.  I used the product key and the OEM ID on the back of my Acer Aspire 5253 - BZ849, but keep getting prompts is not valid.  How can I get this fixed WITHOUT PAYING for WINDOWS AGAIN!

The product key on the back label of the Acer PC is: * product key removed privacy * (initially, it has been accepted as valid.  Now I get guests that it is not and I have 22 days to activate.)  There is also a code in parentheses (X 16-96072), followed by 168-00196-149-361.
