  Got a Satellite A135-2356 opportunity, everything seems fine but BIOS will not identify SATA HDD, shows no disk BIOS downgraded to 1.30, not good, upgraded to 1.40, not good. BIOS has no change/test/detection of HDD/SATA settings options. Tested the drive in another laptop and it reads very well. Received the Toshiba (Vista Basic 32) recovery CD, but given that the BIOS will not read the disk, can't do anything. Cleaned contacts, not good. This HARD disk must be too large, or something for the Board of Directors.

  To be honest, I do not think the disc is too big for your laptop. I can imagine that your laptop can handle with drives of 160 GB too. Unfortunately there is no public document on the possibilities of HARD drive upgrade. I can imagine that ASP in your country has information about such things.

  It's also quite strange that HDD is not recognized correctly. Long ago, I had the same problem. Every time when I used F12 at startup disk HARD were not as boot device. Solution in my case was to upgrade the BIOS to the default settings. I believe that your BIOS has already the default settings, but try to do it again.

  After I've upgraded to pro 8.1 windows 64 bit 64-bit windows 8 (preinstalled), I thought that windows will not let me install the chipset drivers (downloaded from "toshiba site" for windows 8.1 pro 64-bit), but they stay with windows drivers installed for them.

  I get the popup "update" whenever I connect to my computer and it gives me an error message but no code error. The update starts at 0% and stays there indefinitely.

  It's VERY frustrating because on top of working 10 hours today, I have now lost another hour, trying in vain to find a solution.

  By quitting their stand alone suite (CS5, 6 etc) and later support for it, Adobe has FORCED me to use their Cloud Creative suite subscription. While I HATE not being able to buy a standalone program, I like the CC Suite and I'm PAYING for this subscription that provides the latest updates. Now, all of a sudden the updates will not download and install and Adobe wants me to follow a set RIDICULOUSLY long and complicated steps to solve the problem? It's a complete and absolute nonsense!

  I am a self-controlled, respectable and intelligent individual, but it makes me want to use profanity! I HAVE NO TIME FOR THIS NONSENSE.

  According to the latest information (see: Adobe : Cloud accelerates since 3.4 million paid creative members |) ProDesignTools) there is over 3.4 million people like me PAY for reliable use!

I uninstalled Norton and the McAffrey and improved the AVG free version of 2012. I also uninstalled the pesky diagnosis/buy me for the correction and the ask.com toolbar software. I installed ccleaner from piriform as well. The laptop seems to run a little faster, but the next morning he projected blue and when I tried to start it in safe mode it not loaded so far and then frozen, always in the same spot something AVGi and then it crashes, it will not load the rest of the necessary drivers. I tried to boot to the last known good as well. I even tried to downgrade to Windows xp home edition sp3 and when I do it it says there is no hard drive detected, and do I have to make sure that it works correctly.  I am at a loss, my sons friends bought the laptop (Acer Aspire 5315) for $50.00 and did not get a recovery disk so that the option does not exist or the other. What can I do to solve this problem.
