ATG Oracle environment

Hello world!

I'm new here on the forum (this is my first post)! I am building a development environment Oracle ATG here in my company and I need some advice. We use Weblogic, but we are looking at the possibility of using JBoss. The ATG 10.2 supports the version of JBoss?

Hello

ATG 10.2 supports Application servers below:

    You should you/bin/bash, not/usr/bin/bash

    The line should look like:

    Then log in as user Oracle and see if the correct environment is source.

    What is the output if you run the "env" command after a change?

    Hello

    The recent version 10.1 of the application at the Service of Trade Center (CSC) comes with ATG search orders and profiles. 10.1 CSC uses repository search to search the catalog (not ATG search). In general, the range of products of trade Web ATG use ATG research version 10.1.

    We research using the short search for future versions of the CSC, but these plans are still in the examination and discussion.

  • get the oracle environment variables by using the plsql code

    Hey Geeks,

    Can someone tell me how to get an environment variable Oracle (for example db_cache_size) from inside a plsql code or via a sql query block?

    You can query the parameter$ v.

  • How to set up the Oracle environment...?

    I have a new copy of Oracle Enterprise Linux with Oracle 11 g R1 installed.

    Steps that I made and I am trying to understand...

    1. start the server OEL.
    2 to login remotely using PUTTY, I connect to the OEL
    3. I'm setting the variables (ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID) with the "export".
    4. connect to sqlplus under sys with sysdba
    5A started the database. Everything is fine!
    6. If I log out of PUTTY and log back all my step 3 variables have disappeared.
    7. you know by now, I can't start the Oracle database without error.

    My question is...

    How to make the proper environment for the Oracle database?
    Do I have to have the above two variable filled all the time. Should these two variables be part of any (for root) login script? Once the session (shell) must be running all the time?
    Missing link here. I'm learning.
    Thank you
    Smith

    For starters, there are several environments shell could be defined as a default, such as: sh, csh, ksh, bash, tcsh, zsh or rc.
    Depending on what shell environment you have defined, you can or will have a different startup file when you connect.

    But the fundamentals still apply:

    For the most part, the first thing is that you should not run anything as root (related to Oracle).
    Oracle must have his own user name and be part of the DBA group.
    Maybe you have entered.

    Then Yes, your environment variables to be reset when you reconnect.
    There are several ways to achieve this.

    One of the most popular ways (although I do not necessarily), is to set the environment variables in your connection startup script.
    for example, your .profile file (dot - profile). For ksh shell, for example, it runs at first upward when you connect, once your session has read the script/etc/profile to wide control panel.

    If the environment variables are set correctly, they are exported, which is source as your login script runs.

    (Which I prefer), is in turn, you can 'source' environment variables yourself.
    It is again differently according to your default shell.
    For ksh, just type. . (I.e.: point-space-scriptfile)
    It is important that you include a space between the point and the file to run.
    This will make your additional windows in your main window and see these settings approx.

    Another option, favoured by Oracle, is to set the Oracle $PATH in your login script (.profile or other) and then run. oraenv. (point-space-oraenv). Supply the parameters that are defined when you run the oraenv that defines things like your ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME.

    HTH...

  • How can I configure the Oracle environment for an app of the OCCI crontab?

    I have a set of OCCI apps that I run from crontab on RHEL 5.2.
    Get the environment properly configured Oracle (the way shared lib for example) is proving to be a challenge
    like crontab ignores .bashrc and .bash_profile.
    Anyone got any smart suggestions on how best to do it on RHEL?
    Thank you

    Having the OCCI app run in a shell script. The shell script can define all necessary environment variables and then can call the OCCI app.
    for example. (Bourne shell script, say app1.sh)
    ORACLE_HOME =...
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH =...
    PATH =...
    ORACLE_SID =...
    TWO_TASK =...
    TNS_ADMIN =...
    Export ORACLE_HOME LD_LIBRARY_PATH PATH TWO_TASK TNS_ADMIN
    myocciapp

    chmod + x app1.sh
    Make sure that app1.sh works fine without setting the environment variables to the outside.
    Make an entry in the crontab to run app1.sh

  • CentOS Linux in Production Oracle environment

    Hello Sir,

    I get the comment below from oracle...

    None of the versions of Oracle DB and editions are certified to run on CentOS. It does not mean that technically it won't work, but it is not officially certified by Oracle. This means that if there is a problem due to this combination of operating system and Oracle DB, Oracle support is not available for this combination.

    So I can install Oracle DB production on linux CentOS? or if you have an appointment with readhat?

    Kind regards

    Ahmed.

    I would say that... is preferred for the installation of Oracle db.

    Made by oracle for oracle.

    And as John Stegeman showed free to use.

  • Problems opening existing Oracle 9i in the new environment of 11g

    Hello world

    I have a challenge for you! Just to be clear, I am not a specialist of the Oracle (or call me a noob Oracle).

    Challenge: Open an Oracle 9i database in a new Oracle 11 g environment.

    Result: Be able to connect to an Oracle database running with "SSMA for Oracle" to convert it to a SQL database.

    Starting point:
    -Receipt of the customer: DBF, CTL and logs of an Oracle environment existing.
    -Since I can't download Oracle 9i environment, I chose to install 11g environment and hope for a good backward compatibility.

    How I got:
    -Installed 11g environment
    -Set up a database pointing to the files DBF
    ~ Change init.ora to use CTL files
    ~ Create init.ora spfile
    ~ Start database mount and rename the database and data files using sqlplus (liaison with "sys as sysdba")

    Questions:
    Now I can start the database, but sometimes with a * "ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure" * and recommend I start it with the UPGRADE option. "» Start with UPGRADE option works and I can navigate through the database using Toad tool (login 'as sysdba'). But 'SSMA for Oracle' is not an option to connect 'as sysdba' and gives me a "ORA-39710: only connect AS SYSDBA is allowed when it is OPENED in UPGRADE mode.

    Since the MASA for customer Oracle cannot connect to a database started with the UPGRADE option I probably have to fix the "ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure»
    I tried to avoid the upgrade option in trying to upgrade the database to 11g. But utlu112i.sql and catalog.sql give me errors like "ORA-04023: object SYS." STANDARD cannot be validated. "

    Issues related to the:
    -Do you think I want to achieve is possible at all?
    -Can I easily run an Oracle 9i database in a 11g environment or what I really need to upgrade?
    -Do you think it is the best way to get an Oracle existing database running in a new environment?
    -If Yes: how to solve the error ORA-00704?

    If you need more information, alert logs, files .ora or anything to give an appropriate response, please ask and I'll give them.

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards

    Hello

    9i binaries are no more on the website of oracle since this version is located in the long ago.

    What I would do (since you have your files backed up somewhere, at least I hope) is simply:
    Set oracle_sid = xxx
    sqlplus/nolog
    Connect / as sysdba
    start upgrade
    @?\rdbms\admin\catupgrd.sql (to upgrade the database)
    @?\rdbms\admin\utlrp.sql (to compile the modules)

    Wait a while (2-3 hours)

    immediate stop
    startup

    Check no errors in alert_log and you have access to your data.

    Then 2 possibilities:

    It worked - so everything goes well for you.
    It does not, replace your original files and try something else.

    I think this will work if, as we have already said, you're 9.2.0.4 or more.

    Do not lose time on futile questions such as 'what is really the version of my files. You care, upgrade script works for all of the above versions 9.2.0.4.

    Don't forget that:
    Passwords are now (11g) case sensitive (but you can change them when logged in sysdba)
    Some pl/sql will not compile, but I think that you are mainly interested in the data.

    I hope this helps.

  • Quick question on one Oracle development environment

    This should be a quick and simple question. I could swear that someone told me that there is something that I can download that will allow me to set up an Oracle environment mini on my computer can I use to create my own databases, etc., but for the life of me, I don't remember what it was called or where to find it. Can someone help me to jog my memory? I just need to be able to have read/write access in a database to create examples of tables with sample data to test a query on a small scale to make sure it works before running it on the production environment.

    Thank you!

    Please let us know. Indeed it is a bug in the package APEX_CSS package which is called instead of the internal version of add_3rd_party_library_file. I filed the bug # 20317978 and fixed it 5.0.

  • Linux Script - ORACLE_BASE environment variable is not shipped

    Hello

    I created a Linux script to execute a SQL statement and have several variables being passed in the script.  The script executes the SQL statement with no problems, but I see the following message in the log file:

    [/ u01/app/oracle/scripts/insert_asm_disk_usage.sh[8]:. : line 87: dbhome: not found

    ORACLE_HOME = []? ORACLE_BASE environment variable since it is not defined

    You can set ORACLE_BASE manually if necessary.

    The content of the script is:

    #!/bin/ksh

    # Declare variables
    export ORACLE_SID=$1
    export ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle
    BACKUP_MOUNT=$2

    . $HOME/.env_variables

    # Login to SQL Plus and execute the script
    sqlplus -s / @$SCRIPT_DIR/insert_asm_disk_usage.sql ${HOST_NAME}

    As I said, the script and SQL statement runs without any problem.

    Is there anyway around this message?

    It's not really help make the portable script, but no idea why it does not work with what is in the .env_variables?

    If you (you should be) using oraenv, do not set the oracle environment variables yourself. I put the following in each shell script that calls everything about oracle:

    # ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    # set the environment for ORACLE_SID

    # We assume that parm $1 was the name of the database, we work collaboratively with

    #

    export PATH = / usr/local/bin: $PATH

    export ORACLE_SID = $1

    Export ORAENV_ASK = NO

    . oraenv

    unset ORAENV_ASK

    I have seen the error that you report it.  I do remember not the exact fix, but what I do recall is that I found exactly the fix actually reading the oraenv script, focusing on where this particular error message is issued, then back followed the logic of there.  If I can do it, if you can, and it will be an exercise in good learning on several levels, not all of which relate to this specific problem.  I think SB has already referred to this approach.

    What else I remember correctly, is that the fix had to do with permissions... I think it was that I was connected the operating system with an account that did not have permissions to run certain process called oraenv.  But again, read the script and you should be able to get by.

  • 'modernize' forms and reports Oracle version 6 (1995)

    We would like to 'modernize' forms and reports Oracle version 6 ERP (1995) that we have developed and I saw gold alternately Oracle Forms and reports in APEX is. We saw a little bit "and we had some problems related to the navigation of the 'grid'. " Our customers in data entry are accustomed to move in grey with enter or Tab to insert new lines and move with the arrow keys. APEX, from the little that we have spent to make a new line, you must click on a new line, you must click on Save to save, to move the arrows are not covered. 90% of our masks are masters details and I tried using the example and I tried to adapt to the navigation of our customers with poor results, but I didn't spend too much time. A good alternative to the deferral report and form in Oracle environment it? Apex is the right way? you can get these things slamming a little ' head? Now, we have tried with PHP configured so that to approach the masks made with forms and States, and libraries DHTMLX... but they are a bit "away from the excellent and actually I use this combination more like business intelligence and statistical computing in general as actual data input masks. " I'm at a crossroads and continue with DHTMLX PHP or try to get your bearings on APEX. For years, we use Oracle DB and if we could take advantage of the APEX in the right way (without changing the lives of our customers with too many clicks on the buttons!) It would be great! Or is there something else around!

    Apex is a very good product, however is not a replacement for forms.  It can be used to replace Oracle Forms, but he will rewrite a complete application for most.  It will have benefits and drawback compared to Oracle Forms.  Oracle ADF tends to be a better match for Oracle Forms solutions.  That said, why did you choose to completely rewrite your old application Forms investment of 20 year?  Why not upgrade to forms the latest version which is 11.1.2.2.  With this new version, you can easily integrate with other product (Oracle and non-Oracle), take advantage of many new features and much more.  The main advantage for you (your organization), it's that you won't need to completely rewrite the code of your application.  It is quite simple to form 6 to 11.  Some minor code changes peut prove necessary, but most of the time you can move at will 11 version very little effort in most cases.  Many customers have upgraded to the latest version without changing code at all.

    Information on the latest version of forms can be found here:

    "When a servlet in my servlet pipeline ATG wrote a PDF document to the HTTP response output stream, well that the PDF file is delivered to the browser of the client user successfully, an error is recorded on the server: Servlet failed with Exception java.lang.IllegalStateException: response already committed."  Why does this happen?

    Details

    My ATG 10.1.2 application needs to be able to generate and return a PDF document to the client browser when the user clicks on a particular button on the site.

    Although I don't know if it is a best practice of the ATG, the approach that I landed on this is to insert a new custom servlet, 'PdfExportServlet', in the pipeline of servlet ATG.  The PdfExportServlet, for the applications it considers PDF application and decides to manage, generates the PDF content (using Jasper reports engine) and writes the PDF content to the HTTP response output stream.  Here's the relevant part of the code:

    response.setContentType("application/pdf");

    // (... The code that generates a JasperPrint object with the PDF content...)

    final byte [] pdfBinaryContent = JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdf (jasperPrint);

    response.setContentLength (pdfBinaryContent.length);

    final ServletOutputStream outputStream = response.getOutputStream ();

    outputStream.write (pdfBinaryContent);

    outputStream.flush ();

    outputStream.close ();

    It works very well, and the PDF file is displayed in the client browser.  However, a mistake is also recorded in the log file of the application on the server:

    [< WL-101020 > < [path of the module: shop ServletContext@1369332778[app:storeFront: / shop spec-version: 2.5]] Servlet failed with Exception

    One frustrating thing about this error that had made it difficult to solve, is that it does not occur on my PC; local development this log message appears only when the application is running on one of our servers of pre-production or production.  This made try scan multiple possible solutions that are problematic, because every change to the code requires a fresh deployment to our shared, pre-production server which takes time.

    I tried the following variations on the above code, or resulting in a change in the manifestation of the question (the error message that appears in the log):

    1. After the call to outputStream.close (), on the theory that it may help prevent the servlets downstream demand has already been posted, and no other attempts to modify and validate the request should be made added a call to response.flushBuffer ().
    2. Removed calls to outputStream.flush () and outputStream.close (), on the theory that some members of servlet (TailPipelineServlet?) downstream pipeline may be responsible for closing the outputStream, and try to do it prematurely was responsible for the mistake.

    I also have so far have not found anything relevant in the documentation of the ATG/Oracle may provide a clue as to what is happening here, or what general best practices about having a custom servlet in the ATG pipeline that generates output to outputStream of the answer.

    All the tips about the cause of this error, or what needs to be done to resolve this would be welcome!

    Thank you

    -Jon

    I figured out the call to outputStream.write () is originally the HttpServletResponse to commit, because the size of the buffer of the ServletResponse is less than the size of my PDF data Byte.  Reference: ServletResponse (Java EE 6)

    However, when I let my servlet to return with the HttpServletResponse in a State that is not validated, the client browser gets served a 404 instead of the PDF data.  I am currently looking into this issue.
