Atheros ar5009

Hi after a hard disk crash, I reinstalled my Presario cq60-114em with windows xp pro version 2002 and installed service pack 3. Went to the Manager devices and found that it lacked the Atheros ar5009 802.11a/g/n WiFi card and the Ethernet controller and Audio on high definition audio bus device. After the search and download of many different drivers I can't find a solution to these problems. Can someone point me in the right direction.

PS drivers atheros for Vista does not work it seems that they are not retrospective.

Thank you very much

With XP Pro, however my Atheros cannot run with the mode 802. 11 g. When I set the router to use 802.11n mode, that I enter the WPA security key, the wireless adapter tries to connect to the router but finally gave up and finished to try it. • Impossible to get WRT300N/Atheros AR5009 working draft-N

My HP laptop with Vista Home Premium is an Atheros AR5009, which is supposed to work with draft-N card.  Unfortunately, I can't get my WRT300N and the AR5009 to connect to any better than g speeds.  I tried first to specify the router to run only at the draft-N, then the laptop couldn't connect.  I tried to find an option for the adapter work on the project-N only, but failed.  I read a few forums where they said that the problem was that WPA2 security must be used, so I mounted that - no change.  HP of not responding on their end, so I hope that someone else had my problem and can offer a solution.

Nevermind, I managed to solve the problem on my own.  The router and the wireless card must be set to WPA (not WPA2) encryption.  Strange, but it works.

  • No driver for Atheros AR5009 Wireless LAN adapter Win7

Hi, I am ready to upgrade my HP G70-468NR for Win7 laptop and downloaded all the drivers Win7 from HP, there's a new Win7 driver for all my devices except the Atheros AR5009 Wireless LAN Adapter. Research on the Web as a whole does not produce a no more. There is one for VISTA, which I already have and currently employs. I know the obvious solution is to use the VISTA driver or try to download from Windows Update after the Win7 update - I'm just puzzled as to why it is not any mention any of this device on the page for my laptop Win7 drivers. Laptop is only two months.

    Thank you, Ken

  • Atheros AR5009 weird solution for a weird problem!

I know there are a lot of people having problems with the WIFI Atheros AR5009 blessed same card I had. I am the owner of 3 HP Notebooks that 2 of them have the WiFi model. The problem has been composed in an error code 10 after each start up to the top of the laptop, since long, after much wasted time in music with technicians, upgradeing to the Bios and drivers, removing the laptop WiFi card to reset and so on, I noteiced that if I turn off WiFi using the front quick launch button stop the laptop is fixing the code 10 error and the WiFi works fine on the next time you start, with the exception of a period of 10 minutes before connect you to the wireless network. So it was ok with me still a litlle bit boring but good. About 2 weeks ago, that I wanted to install the RC of Windows 7 X 64 to test because I heard a lot of good things on this subject and so I did. I have deleted the C: partition, created a new and format it using the Windows 7 installation disc and after that I just instaled 7. Drivers HP for Windows Vista X 64 perfect where except for Atheros I received the update of Windows and everything worked ok especially WiFi which gives me more the Code 10 error. After a few days of testing, I come to the conclusion that Windows 7 is buggy for me then I haved reinstalled Vista again delete the C: partition, creating a new and format before the installation of the operating system. I reinstalled Vista Home Premium X 86 and HP drivers and I noticed that the AR5009 is no longer gives me the error Code 10 when I stopped my laptop without plugging down WiFi first. A previous theme, that I know that are many o people have trouble with this map and that some o them even managed to get it replaced by Hp, but is not it is simpler for the technicians HP just look at this problem and solve it rather than simply replacing parts? I hope that this message will help someone at HP for a solution or a user HP the same problem faceing. Until now I failed to keep my laptop closed for several hours and then and I can't do the same thing on the second HP laptop so until I managed to keep closed for more then 24 hours, this solution must be regarded as a probable, but on Windows 7 works 100% , the cell phone being off more then 36 hours. I'll keep you posted when I get it for 24 hours just to be sure.

When I was young I used to pray for a bike, and then I realized that God doesn't work that way, so I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness!

I finally figure is why the Atheros AR5009 works correctly under Windows Vista after all this month. How I told you in the previous post, I installed WIndows 7 X 64 OS on my laptop and Windows Update provides a driver for Atheros AR5009, and everything worked correctly without error Code 10. After that I reinstalled Vista again I asked Windows driver the driver installation folder where I keep all my drivers (I saved Windows 7 drivers there too) and everything worked, only I thought I installed the driver Atheros normal from the HP site. Hey well yesterday while I was looking for an explanation why the cursed WiFi card work properly I noticed that I have installed the wrong driver, I had the drivers for Windows 7 X 64. Have uninstalled and delete the device and the drivers and reinstalled again and I after that 16 hours, I turned on my laptop and the AR5009 is a lot of work. If anyone need this driver, can I download it for you, or you can search in the database of the Microsoft driver. The real question is why in HP world did not come to the top with a new driver and all the world let down? They are busy cash?

  • Update on Atheros AR5009 802.11a/g/n Wifi adapt

I have a Home Premium HP Windows Vista 32 bit I bought about 7 years ago... only the computer that I have... always works pretty well... well that slow and slow, but only on wifi. So I installed a software to check for driver updates. It shows that the Atheros is old... installed in 26/04/08 available 20/08/11. My guestion is how to get it without having to pay for it. Shouldn't have came to me since I bought it?

    Hello

Say you the computer; Wireless normally comes with laptops, unless you buy a USB Dongle wireless or Wireless PCI Card for your desktop.

Get the drivers of the computer/laptop or a hardware manufacturer directly.

Here is a link to the page of the HP driver.

Enter your model number and then select the operating system to the appropriate drivers and latest.

  • HP G60 - 127CL with XP laptop hardware Downgrade from Vista to XP question

We have recently bought a HP G60-127 CL laptop and downgraded the OS from Vista to XP Professional with SP3 home.  I found all the drivers and installed them.  All pilots show that "working properly" and everything works except the network controller (wireless I think).  When I go to Device Manager, then in the other devices section, it says "network controller" with yellow?  Note: I installed the driver wireless adapter lan Broadcom 802.11 including hp recommended, rebooted, but still does not work.  I tried reinstalling the drivers, installation of versions of different driver, installation of service pack 3, reinstall XP, etc, but nothing works.  My network card works fine, so I figure that he need Wireless Lan because I can't turn on.  Any ideas?

Here is the answer. It's an Atheros card not a Broadcom. Atheros AR5009.

  • Downgrade from vista to XP pro on Pavilion dv7 - 1247d (need drivers)

Don't know if you call it without decommissioning, I prefer to call it an upgrade.

In any case, I need help to find the drivers for this laptop. I did a forum search for my model and found nothing.

    Thanks advance!

Excellent... Thank you Daniel. That MS doesn't have the stuff, but at least it helped identify the wifi card. After the installation of sp39403 the wifi in the device manager card installs other devices - network to network cards controller real but has an exclamation point. Pilot wasn't always right. He has been identified as a series of card Atheros AR5009. I searched and found an updated driver sp42654 (tried to add shortcut HTML) and loaded. Card WiFi immediately started working.

Success, finally. I think that everything is operational under a best Windows XP Pro instead of Vista.

Thanks again for your help Daniel.

  • Receiving the message "Wireless association failed because Windows did not receive response from the access point or wireless router" _

My laptop was working fine yesterday, but when I started it today I get the message "Wireless association failed because Windows did not receive response from the access point or wireless router.

I can see my network and I can connect to the internet using my desktop pc, but just to make complicated I can't even connect to the network when I plug the ethernet cable into my laptop.

I think it might be a driver problem, but I have no idea how to solve this problem without access to the internet on my laptop.

I'm running Vista and my wireless router is an Atheros AR5009 809.11a/g/n

I need step by step instructions on this Yes please treat me like a fool!

    Thank you

Laptop would not work at home thus concluded that it was a BT Broadband do not issue my driver (despite BT telling me the opposite last night)

After the call to a fantastic Lady in BT it's all fixed and thanks to Jack I now know a lot more on connecting wireless to my laptop!

  • Cannot install Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver sp45524

I have a HP G60-120US and had very slow wireless speed problems since I upgraded to Windows 7 (I have no problem when connected with a LAN cable). I tried to upgrade to the sp45524 driver (Broadcom 5.60.18.8 REV: B) but he kept to return to driver Atheros AR5009, even after I tried to remove the software. Please help with any suggestions you may have on how to replace the driver Atheros with Broadcom one. Thank you.

  • Windows Vista problems wireless on laptop

First of all thanks in advance to anyone who can help me solve this problem. It really starts to drive me crazy. I have a laptop HP under Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, I built in adapter wireless and until a year ago it was working fine. I used a public WiFi access point, and I honestly think it crashed my adapter because it has never worked since. At the time I didn't it was something important.
I can be right next to a wireless router (at home) and a laptop shows excellent signal and my HP link see the strength... until I hit... Then he throws a "Windows cannot connect to"
I click on diagnose the problem and told me "Wireless association failed because Windows did not receive response from the access point or wireless router.
I am looking for the extra wireless and it shows the same thing but this time one that I want to connect to is now the low signal strength... I tried a signal booster and I have tweeked every setting I can think. I'm lost. Here is a partial of my ipconfig and my all in the event log. (btw, this is the same event log whenever I try to connect to the same wireless connection)

I ran ipconfig/all and my share wireless is as follows:

    Hi DJGabby,

    • What is the only computer that is connected to the wireless network?

Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or some non-Microsoft DHCP servers

To resolve this issue, disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
    3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    4 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}
    5. in this registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the network adapter that is connected to the network.
    6. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.
    7. in the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.
    8. right click on DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, then click on modify.
    9. in the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.
    10. close the registry editor.

By setting this registry key to 1, Windows Vista's trying to get an IP address using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets. If that fails, he will try to obtain an IP address without using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets.
You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the wireless card.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.
