Attach a PDF to e-mail blocking Acrobat DC

We have a number of Windows users (Windows 7 x 64) who report that, when you try to attach a PDF file from anywhere - office, a network share, etc - in Gmail (i.e. write a message via the Gmail interface for the web browser and then attach a PDF file), the attachment seems to work, but then crashes Acrobat DC. This happens in Chrome and IE 11.

Verification through error messages, we get this:

The description for event ID 0 in source Adobe Acrobat cannot be found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer

... that we tried to fix it and nothing changed... and

Exception code: 40000015

... who could be trying to create a PDF in AutoCAD 2012, however, so I'm not sure if the error has to do with this problem.

Anyone else have similar problems?

Hi Fred,.

Early days, but... I think you nailed.

In the case of the user, it was missing the file: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\ToolsSearchCacheRdr

Once it existed, I did a test of a PDF email and no AppCrash occurred.

Thanks for your research!

    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.

  • Attach a .pdf file in a form

    Hello

I am trying to improve a petty cash refund process by introducing a form. The form contains a list of expenses box that allows users to select Taxi, meals, telephone, etc.. These items require a purchase receipt. Employees, complete the form, analyze their receipt and send them to their Manager for approval.

I wanted to know - is it possible to put in place a navigation button to select and join your .pdf (scanned copy of a receipt) so when the Manager receives the form by e-mail that they can open the form, and then open/view the receipt attached.

    Thanks for your help

    Michael

Yes, you can use JavaScript to prompt the user to add attached files. Here is a link to an example of document that should help get started you: http://acroscript.net/pdf/demos/importFileJS_v1.pdf

You will need to download the PDF and open it in Acrobat to see the code in JavaScript to the document level to understand how it works.

  • Windows Mail blocks - suggestions for a fix?

    Hello
Here's the situation. I have Windows Mail running on a desktop with Windows 7 as my operating system.  When my old computer crashed, I asked the technician to put Windows Mail instead of Windows Live mail on my new computer.

Everything was fine until 2 days ago. Now, Windows Mail blocks whenever I'm doing one of the following things:

-a click or even overview and email from different people sending a particular server
-try to work in offline mode

Everything works well with Windows Mail on my desk.  I don't think that the problem is the server that sends emails, because these emails do not cause a crash when I open with Windows Live Mail on my laptop.

The server emails sent by is on my 'allowed senders' list in Windows Mail.

Any ideas on what is the problem or how to fix it?

The reason why I did not Live Mail on my new desktop computer is because I have more than 10 years of records organized of all the emails I received.  I was afraid to lose this info during the upgrade or passing.  I also find very confusing to use Windows Live Mail on my laptop.

Another question... I could download Windows Live Mail on my desk and run in addition to Windows Mail, without losing everything that I have stored in Windows Mail?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
    Sue

Not sure if it's too late, but I had the same problem and found a workaround.

Specific messages were originally the crash - not everyone, only some. After some trial and error, I discovered the problem - by displaying the message in HTML format can cause a malfunction. I don't know what specific problem in the message causes the crash, but I found that switching to plain text resolved the problem.

Switch to plain text turns off display HTML messages. You lose some formatting and images, but it does not crash, and that's what I found most critical. If you really want the screen, Windows Mail appears to include the HTML code as an attachment you want to open in another browser. I was able to do this successfully.

Here's how to change plain text:

    1. in Windows Mail, select the Tools menu.
    2. Select the submenu Options. You will see a dialog box.
    3. Select the playback tab.
    4. check the option "read all messages in plain text.
    5. click on OK

You should be good to go!

I always intend on the study of other e-mail clients - Windows Mail is not supported for Windows 7 and I like either Live Mail. If all goes well, that you pass the problem while you other research programs.

When you try to attach a PDF file as an object the WORD 2013 64 bit I'm estates following error: "the program used to create this object is AcroExch. This program is either not installed on your computer, or it does not. To change this, install AcroExch or ensure that all the dialog boxes in AcroExch are closed. "even disabled protection at startup mode. Who made no difference

    Hi sdesk.

This problem occurs with the 64-bit application as Acrobat is a 32-bit application making it incompatible to insert objects into a MS Word 64-bit application.

As a workaround solution insert the object as a 'Create New' rather than create a file.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Why creative Cloud is supported my ability to attach a PDF without this function Send & track very awful?

Since the installation of creative cloud I can simply attach a pdf file to a message from the Outbox. A few awful little app support prevents this and tries to suggest to use Send & Track. So far so good, but if I said 'no' so nothing is attached, and if I said 'Yes' and then it's done only in case I'm online. So I can't edit more emails to send while offline later. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. Please fix this bug!

    Just a thought:

That disabling the Add-in in Outlook at all help?

How can I disable Acrobat track and send?

  • Files do not attach as PDF

I saved from Word to PDF documents under the drop-down list format in Mac OS X Yosemite, but when I attach them to an e-mail message to send, they turn into Text Edit files. Any suggestions?

    Heather,

Mac OS does not require a file to use a file extension (for example, ".pdf"). This is not the case with other systems of the OS. Even the Mac operating system prefers that you add this file extension. When you have sent the file without the extension of pdf file, the browser probably guessed what type of file it treated and sent is if if it is a text file. See if you add the ".pdf" extension and see if that helps.

Mac OS 10.10.2 is installed and can open documents on my new Mac Air but an error message occurs when you try to attach a PDF file to emails.  Apple was not able to solve.  Any thoughts?

It is not broken, just confused. The recipient must save the file and open it in Adobe Reader. Your e-mail application is not using Adobe Reader.
