Audio CD not a recognizable file (after reinstalling media player) extension

Windows Media Player 11 somehow got corrupted so I had to uninstall media player and reinstall it... After I do, if I insert an Audio CD and tell Windows Media Player to read the disc through Windows Media Player AutoPlay still errors with «the media selected (.)» is an unrecognized format. Do you want Windows Media Player to try to play? "no matter whether I select Yes, Windows Media Player will not play the CD. If I open Windows Media Player 11 manually (in the start menu) I can play from there, but not in the menu AutoPlay!

Are you referring to the .3gp format?

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported by the player or not supported by the server.
If you encountered this error by clicking a link on a Web page, the link isn't valid.
If you encountered this error by typing a URL in the open URL dialog, try opening the file using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:").
The following is a list of protocols supported by the player and the correct URL syntax examples:

If the Player supports the protocol you used in the URL and you can't always read the content, check that the drive is configured to use all of its supported protocols.

    To configure the protocol settings
    (a) in the Player Windows Media, on the Tools menu, click Options.

  • How can I separate backup files on my Media Player?

After restoring my computer, I tore the back of files in my Media Player, but they go back in their original format.  Now, they are all listed on 1 album which is, of course, unknown.  I edited all the songs by title and artist, but I can't understand how to separate categories of artists and recover the original album info. How can I move the songs from the album at their own records of each artist?  I use Windows XP and Windows Media Player 11.

OK, first thing to understand that when you rip a cd and it is not recognized, he'll call the 'artist/album/song' (or how ever you have your game settings) as an artist Unknown/Unknown Album / unknown song.
The first thing is so raise your internet connection, and then run your files through windows media player search. Means the faster is to open WMP and drag and drop everything. The upward gaze should start automatically (unless you have disabled this feature), and you should start to notice.
If you have any questions let me know.

  • Play AIFF files in windows media player

    Hello

I'm reading some AIFF files in windows media player. I get the error message "Windows media player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file."

As WMP supports AIFF files I guess it's a problem with the codec.

Is there a solution out there that I can play the files?

    Cheers, Matt.

Where are the files? Are you sure that they are in the AIFF format?

You can try to install FFDShow . If this does not help, please open some of the files in GSpot , this program will signal the audio codec used in the file. Then, you can report this codec here.

    Hello

The .m4a and .aac file extension is not a type of supported Windows Media Player file. However, you can user your favorite search engine to search for a solution that can convert the file in a supported file type Windows Media Player.

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Unable to read the .avi files with Windows Media Player 11 on XP

Original title: Media player upgrade was worse than basic
I recently updated my Player multimedia media Player 11 and now it won't play movies from AVI file that I used to be able to play easily on the outdated version. Why is this?

    Hello

Do you have an error message when you try to play with Media Player AVI files?

When you try to play a file that uses a codec that is not installed on your computer, Windows Media Player attempts to download the codec from a Microsoft server. If the
Codec is available, the Windows Media Player installed on your computer, and then bed file. However, if the codec is not available on the server (for example, because)
the codec not created by Microsoft), Windows Media Player displays a message that your computer is missing a codec.

In some cases, the file you want to play uses a codec that is not available or compatible with Windows Media Player. When this happens, you may be unable to use Windows Media Player to play this particular .avi file.
