Automatic update never automatic updates!

I have an automatic update for, well, automatic update.

However, there is always a message saying that I need to download the new update, it opens a browser asks me to install McAfee, I said no, and then press to download, save a file, then run the file to update... How is this automatic update?

Flash upgrades so often that it is boring. It defeats the whole purpose after pressing the automatic update.

Is there any solution for this?

(1) I went the Flash Player Settings Manager and it does not say "Allow Adobe install updates"

(2) the mms.cfg file (found this on the net) says:

SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

AutoUpdateDisable = 0

If it's important I'm on Windows 7 64-bit

Hi TruSake,

The latest version of Flash Player has been a "strong" release, so it will be not updated via the background update process (automatic update). Please see an overview of the Flash Runtime installation options, including the section"Setup Options", for more information on why this is and how many times updated Flash Player.

Device drivers are OPTIONAL and you must make a conscious effort to go to this article of WU and check them off the coast. It is NEVER a good idea to get the driver of WU. The best place for drivers is the device manufacturer's Web site...

  • Windows installed the automatic windows update agent and I would appreciate help with the settings option in this newly installed agent update so no update never install or download unless I choose to do.

    Hello.

I have windows vista 32 bit home edition.

Today somehow automatically installed windows ' automatic update agent 747600226

I always keep my settings to check the updates but let me choose whether to update or install.

With this new "update automatic agent" which automatically installed on my system, I want to make sure I have place it properly so that it remains in the same way that I always have my settings but two settings (options), he checked, and are confusing for me to know what those checked settings will do.

I would like to help you with these settings to make sure that the update is still as I want.

Below chose correctly when the new program installed today.  That's how I still want the settings to be:

Look for updates but let me choose whether to update or install

Please let me know if I need to change all the options account required in addition to this update agent to ensure that only, I choose to update or install.

There are four options and a box is in two and I don't know if I should remove the check marks or not.

Here are the other four options that I need to know how to configure it so that only I have update/install.

Once again, the download automatic microsoft today (update automatic agent 7.4.7600.226) without asking for my incentive preset automatic update options and that's what I'm trying to make sure is set correctly so that nothing installs or updates without asking me or let me do.

Option 1: (this option is checked. If I leave it checked will be it install or warn me only?)

Give me updates recommended in the way I receive important updates.

Option 2: (this is not checked and am not worried about this one)

Allow all users to use installed on this pc.

    Option 3:
(this is checked and want to know if should uncheck; what I don't want is any what to auto install, but the wording of this option and option 1 are vague because of the "give me " so I don't know what it means or will do.)  If this box is left to it automatically update/install?)

Give me updates for Microsoft products and looking for new optional microsoft software when I update windows

Option #4 (this is not checked, and I am not concerned about this).

See the notification me detailed when new microsoft software is available.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Take care! :)

    Hello

The Windows Update automatically updates the updater (himself), regardless of your settings.

    1. Yes it will alert you so you can update or install.

    2. check if you need more of yourself (other users) to be able to select and install the updates.

    3. it will let you know when they become available.

    4. just gives the news of additional details about some of the updates.

Looks like you're ready for anything you like.

  • TB 31.5.0 Win 7 after the TAB key for the automatic update no longer creates new address line "write" (enter the done key) but I want the TAB key! Why this keep happening after

TB 31.5.0 Win 7 after the TAB key for the automatic update no longer creates new address line "write" (enter the done key) but I want the TAB key! Why is - this seems to happen after each automatic update? Cant we get 'option' to use the TAB key to navigate through the lines of address "write"?

TAB through the fields that exist. It is the function of the TAB.

Otherwise you could never use TAB to go out in a field for example: subject. It would create an indefinate number of fields and are unable to function as a TAB key.

TAB does not back to THE fields,
New crests to THE fields or donkey typing/selection enter/return address, you can use the selection of mouse click.

  • Stop the automatic updates.

I won't use Firefox 29 or newer to the interface introduced v29 shit it's user friendly and bring some missing thing the v28 (they may be survivals of an older profile), no. Restorer Classic theme does not bring them back.
The above is here simply to try to stop suggestions on the use of v29

I tried to go into the menu options Firefox > Options > advanced > never search for updates, but this does not prevent updates.
I had to uninstall Firefox 29 5 times today, each time after he said to "never check updates."

Not to start a war here, but Mozilla won't return to the entire user interface that they spent 2 years working on. That would be a downgrade to them. Mozilla is all pushing forward. Some users may the hate, but it's that there are other alternatives such as the Restorer of classic theme for people who dislike the design Australis.

There is a way to disable updates by going through the menu Options, but after this, when you go to help > on Firefox, it would update regardless of this setting.
    2 methods here, pick a.
You can set these prefs in about:config to turn off the automatic update:

    App.Update.auto - false

    App.Update.Enabled - false

    App.Update.Silent - false

Or you can use this method to do it for you:
You can create a new file in a text editor (default values are: Notepad of Windows, TextEdit for Mac and Linux text editor) called user.js . When you save user.js, is ensure that it's file type is all FILES like leaving as it's going to add the extension .txt (user.js.txt) and it will not work. Place this file in your profile folder. See link below to find out how to access the file

After you create the folder, simply add the following to your user.js file, save and close, restart Firefox

    // turn off application updates:
    user_pref("app.update.enabled", false);

  • Why don't the automatic update to my Firefox always hang up when it verifies compatiblily with my addons?

Towards the end of an automatic update of Firefox, the program opens a dialog box that says that it is to check the compatibility of the new version with my addons. He also mentioned that I be patient, the process may take several minutes. The process continues without normal ending, and I have to use Windows Task Manager to stop it. I have let it run the form as long as 35 minutes, but it's never complete the process. This has happened for each automatic updates of last 3 or 4. What is going on?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions or is not compatible in ' Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the side of the left end of the search bar to check if there is an update available compatibility.

If this did not help, then also delete the addons.sqlite file.

  • Disabling automatic updates...

I can't seem to permanently disable the automatic updates of the parameters, so I tried everything: config and set these values manually:

    App.Update.auto; false
    App.Update.Enabled; False
    App.Update.mode; 0
    App.Update.Never.12.0.0; true
    extensions.lastAppVersion;

Yet he still wants me autoupdate lol (but very rarely now).

If the files have already been downloaded, then delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates.

You can also remove active - update.xml, or even updates.xml (this will clear the update history).

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
    (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)

The "Application Data" in XP/Win2K folder and the folder "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

  • Have 3.6.28 like my boyfriend, hate v4 layout and refusing to update. Today, that he found his update automatically. Any way I can avoid this cruel fate?

When its automatically updated to 4 against his will, he lost everything... cookies, bookmarks, history, etc. He is also seen extreme lagg now and everything is so slow for him, especially selected bookmarks... If it moves the mouse over the list and rapidly down the highest point is unable to follow and it bounces always up and down trying to catch up for a while after that it stops.

I really want to share this horrible fate, I love my FireFox 3.6 and use it over other browsers. I don't want to just lose and be forced to this provision of the terrible version 4, if I was I might as well switch to Chrome when I start again from scratch, because it is at least a bit more tolerable (though of course less than FireFox 3.6) design.

Is it all, ANY way I can avoid this and not have my torn 3.6 away from me as my boyfriend did?

in the Options window > advanced Panel > Update tab > Firefox updates > CHECK never check for updates (not recommended: security risk), click OK to save, exit firefox and restart.

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/options%20Window%20-%20Advanced%20panel#w_update-tab

BUT don't forget not 3.6.28 is out of date, see: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Each update (automatic) lost all my passwords (and existing 'aid' is a nightmare)

I read a LOT of other people who have this problem, and I've seen no good answer. (Answers require several days of analysis, and I don't have much time.)

Whenever Firefox updates automatically, it loses most of my passwords!

Yes, I read that there is a 'profile' blah blah blah. But does that mean that I have to go through all kinds of loops, when this automatic update occurs?

If so, I gladly leave Firefox and switch to another browser.

I never had this problem with any browser, never with Safari, I left only because he did not work with many websites.

    I use a Mac, OS 10.6.8

    Thank you

Why not update manually? If you do it this way, the profile is not in use when the update takes place, so nothing in it should be corrupted.

  • Automatic update of the BIOS

    Hello

Last week, I bought a new HP Pavilion laptop and when I went on last night he went straight into the BIOS update.  I never asked that day.  Should it be updated BIOS automatically?

    L

It seems that if you have automatic updating turned on, probably in the HP Support Assistant.  I recommend that you check the settings and change them if it does not happen.

I'd rather have the utility update inform me opportunities to update, but prefer to check before taking the trouble to download and install them. This leaves the process of updating my device (s) in my control.
