  My assumptions:

  Reviews 258 and 382 - you try to push a bad for these members. Is there a reason that part never can't go to them?

  1476 and 1611 - reviews you reuse aliases that are already affected

  Record 3110 - you pass properties accounts only to a dimension of accounts not (although what you show, never share and + hardly seem like properties accounts only). You also try to write a formula to a shared member. Really, you want to change properties for a stored Member? Why?

  The last two--you have references early, that is, the shared member is in outline before the base member. Which tells me you have a BSO here as ASO cube would be much more emphatic about this error and in fact would not allow it at all. Be careful of this condition - he can do things twisted with Essbase.

• Adding attributes to elements of text

  Hi all

  is it possible to attach a custom pieces of text attribute?

  In InDesign, we can do that and it allows to link pieces of text to the content of the database so that the text can be synchronized on demand.

  We essentially attach metadata to chunks of text.

  As far as I understand, adding information to art objects is possible using dictionaries - we just need even pieces of text.

  The reason why we are simply not that store in the art object (store the indices of the text in the dictionary), is that we need to update the attributes such as character attributes:

  When the user changes the text by adding or removing characters, attributes must be stored as character attributes.

  The individual text runs can be assigned to attributes; the only thing that has a dictionary is the subject of the art itself.

  That said, the dictionaries can themselves have dictionaries, then maybe you can write something that is not as nice (I understand why you want to join directly to text) you may be able to make a system that does what it takes.

  You should also be aware that knowing when a user has changed text is going to be problematic; It is easy to know the art has changed, but it is much harder to know what art has changed.

• Financial Reporting Studio - added attributes to the Page will not appear in the workspace

  I tweaked an existing report by adding 2 attributes to the grid and assigning "Point of view of the user" for both of them.  When I go to the workspace Explorer to try running, however, the two new attributes are not listed, so it is impossible for the user to select the.  I tried deleting the POV, thinking that would like to start the selection process, but the two new attributes are still not visible.  Any ideas?

• The attributes of the element list empty when adding attribute #FROM_ROLE to the message (Type CREATEPO element)

  I'm customizing item type CREATEPO adding a new notification with the corresponding message and I am facing a problem with the workflow designer (using the v2.6.3.5.0 Oracle workflow Builder).

  This notification must have a specific sender, which is already stored in a custom element attribute.

  According to the developer's Guide, I add a new message attribute with the internal name = "#FROM_ROLE" for the new custom message.

  I put all the remaining data, according to the instructions of the Manual: Type = role, source = send, full name and description = ' role', default = attribute Item type.

  But when I try to set the default value, the list is empty and I can't choose any attribute of the element.

  I tried to define a new message in other Types of items, such as REQAPPRV, and in this case, the list of attributes is displayed correctly.

  Any idea or solution?

  I already solved the problem.

  So that the attributes of the element to appear as default values for the attribute Message #FROM_ROLE, they must also be of type role.

• Adding attribute error

  I have a BSO cube with 9 dimensions and want to add dimension attribute to generate the report based on the managers responsible for different places. When I created a dimension a dimesion again and changed its dimesion to dimension 'Attribute' type I get error that says ' dimension/attribute calculations member name already used', but this name is nowhere in the dimension. No idea what could be the cause of this error?

  I don't think that "Avg_Rate" should be a problem. Only if you have an exact match in a name or alias with one of the 'special' calculations of the attribute dimension names.

  That said, it's such a quick test, it is interesting to try anyway. You can change the names of members of dimensions of attribute calculations using the Regional service. The process is described in the online help for the Regional service: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/eashelp/attclcdm.htm

• Why can I not associate an attribute of a Dimension Dense?

  It is more of a theoretical question rather than to a specific need, but I do not understand why it is not possible to associate a dimension of a Dense dimension attribute. The SER60 said what follows, but does not explain why:
  
  "Dimensions with the associations of the attribute cannot be on Dense. Essbase allows associations of the attribute to be set as Sparse dimensions only. »
  
  Everything I've read attribute Dimensions offer more features in all cases compared to a UDA except that the Dimensions of the attribute can be associated with the dense dimensions. Obviously UDAs can be associated with the dense Dimensions, so why not add this to the Dimensions of the attribute and throw UDAs completely?
  
  I considered the possibility that attribute Dimensions require a to-many with their associated dimension (Eg. Several products that are 12 ounces), and all aggregates can be associated with a member (for example. A single product marked in 12 Oz, 14 Oz, etc.), but I can't really think a realistic instance where you WOULD multiple attributes associated with a single member.

  Also consider a few other things. UDAs have always existed. Dimensions of the attribute are not arrived on the scene until 6 version (I think). You would not take away the existing functionality of UDA during the presentation of the attributes. Other things to consider. A UDA can be used on several levels of a cube dimension in a one attribute. If I wanted to do something stupid like dynamic calculations ot several levels if a certain UDA is where you can, but could with attributes. Or how about the fact that a member cannot have a member of an attribute, but several udas. Yes woth attributes, you might not have to if plurivalent statement. Say you have products that are color products are sold as some like red and others come in two blue colors. With an attribute to tell me how to have a calculation where the product is both blue and red.

  Some examples of the differences. There are many more. I understand your attributes you want to do all things, but sometimes there are reasons for it not. Since there are no blocks in the ASO cubes, the restriction goes away, but of course, you can currently do calculations procedures (yet)

• Adding security to account dimension members

  I have a Hyperion Planning V11.1.1.1.0 application.
  Dimension of the accounts are members of the suite Oracle E - biz.
  I have manually added security* members (about 300) the dimension of accounts in order to create dataforms for different users.
  
  What is the easiest method of adding security to members of the account dimension+ because it has become very difficult to manually add security accounts as the number of members in the dimension increases significantly (say 1000).
  
  I also noticed there is no way of the only children of a particular parent would inherit the security of parents.
  
  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Also, you can certainly apply the security for the children or descendants of a given member.

  There is a drop-down list in the form of security entitlement that allows you to assign security:

  -MEMBER
  -CHILDREN (including the original member)
  -CHILDREN
  -DESCENDANTS (including the original member)
  -DESCENDANTS

  There is no reason to apply security to individual members if you can avoid it. The functions of relationship will facilitate your interview.

  As suggested in other forums, I created an attribute long_desc and selected the option "level attribute created in views" for all the dimensions in the cube, still the error persists.

  It turned out as three separate issues here.

  (1) there were attributes created by AWM fallacious in the DAY_FLG dimension as described above. I deleted these hand of the XML template and recreated the dimension.

  "(2) there was a dimension where ' create the level attribute columns in the view" had not been verified. I just checked it in AWM.

  (3) the OBIEE plug-in requires that you have a long and a short dimension for each dimension. (I don't know why). There was in some dimensions attributes named short_description, which have been marked as a USER. In this case, I simply set the attribute Type to be brief Description. In two dimensions, there is only one attribute of description, so I created new attributes with identical mappings to create the type of additional description.

  Once all of these changes have been made in the plugin OBIEE took place without problems.

  When it comes to managing a dimension in AWM, I get the error: ORA-35563: (XSRWLD17) multiple values exist for an attribute of this dimension member.

  Rejected records, I have 101 lines whose entries such as:

  The AwM team has developed a plug-in simple data validation that can be interesting to try to help identify the

  questions of dimension table of source you get when your construction.

  It may be worth trying to see if the data validator of AwM extension will help you identify your problems of data in your dimension source table.

  The download is a jar file that you can simply copy a subdirectory where you installed the client AwM.

  You just need to update the awm.properties file informing AwM you use plug-ins.

  You can do this by selecting tools-> Configuration in the main menu in minutes and ensuring

  Enable Plug-ins and set the plug-ins directory (if you have not already done so).

  Tools-> configuration will give you a lot of options, but you only need to update the plug-ins as

  an example:

  

  To run the plugin Data Validation, simply select the dimension of the analytic workspace that you and

• Member add dimension to the existing attribute problem

  Hi - I currently have a dimension of the attribute and the type is numeric. I did not build this BSO cube, but I need to add a member in there "0000". I am trying to add this in environmental assessments, when I first add a child and type 0000, it automatically removes the 3,000 and leaves me with only 0. When I manually in the properties to add back the 000 and then check the outline, it will give me an error message "0: setting of the format name attribute must match attrirbute member of level 0. Other members of this dimension is also 4 digits.
  
  The same problem happens when I try to add the 01/01/1900 to my date attribute dimension. This attribute is of type Date. When I try to check the outline, I get an error message 'the attribute member name does not match the setting for the attribute type. Date attribute should be specified in the format xx-xx-yyyy ".
  
  I've never added members to the dimensions of the before attribute, I thought it would be like adding a new Member to any other regular dimensions.

  These two questions make sense to me. If you set an attribute like digital, I think it translated 0000 to 0. After all, it is a numeric value. You say that your other values are 4 digits. Do you mean like 1234 or 0012. I expect the former to work, but not the last.

  In regards to your date, I know more casual it is, but there is a minimum date allowed. For some reason a while in 1970 glue in my heard (of course, I was stuck in the 1970s for years). I thinl you also cannot have a longer date the 2043.

• ATTRPARENT dimension of the text attribute to several levels of construction with a rules file

  My first post here.

  I'm trying to create the dimension generation rule to create a dimension of the multilevel text attribute and then combine with the basic dimension.

  So far, it is difficult.

  With regard to my experience:

  -J' have a relatively basic understanding of the rules of charge both with regard to the data loads and define the updates - I find this quite confusing area and the documentation does not help that much

  -J' only started using dimensions attribute, so for me it's a new concept, but we are already quite useful in certain applications

  -J' I try to automate the process of construction of dimension attribute, and then associating attributes with the basic dimension

  I use the following documentation as a guide:

  The ultimate goal is to replicate one of our existing recently created attribute dimensions of a cube to another.

  I built a few versions of the required flat file and the corresponding rules file, but none worked.

  I tend to get the following validation error message:

  This field is defined as an ATTRPARENT. The following column must be a field of association attribute type.

  As I got stuck so I gave to the current actual attributes and moved on to experimenting with the sample / base cube.

  I built a flat file that is supposed to create a new dimension of text attribute named ABC with two attributes level structure:

  ABC

  A

  AA

  AB

  B

  BA

  BB

  and associate it with the dimension of the product in the following way

  200-10 AA

  200-20 AB

  200-30 BA

  200-40 BB

  The flat file looks like this:

  "AA"      "A"         "200-10"               "A"         "AA"      "200"

  "AB"      "A"         "200-20"               "A"         "AB"      "200"

  "AB"      "B"         "200-30"               "B"         "AB"      "200"

  "BB"       "B"         "200-40"               "B"         "BB"       "200"

  and the rule file has 6 matching columns with titles as follows:

  Level0, LEVEL1 ABC, ABC Level0, product ATTRPARENT0, ABC ABC0, LEVEL1 product, product

  all agree with what the documentation says.

  The first 2 columns are intended to define and create the dimension of the attribute, while the 4 next make association...

  I couldn't the above rules file to validate.

  The same validation error message appeared as previously:

  This field is defined as an ATTRPARENT. The following column must be a field of association attribute type.

  However when I tried to actually update the outline of the mistakes of dimbuild.err file has been created which gives some additional clues:

  \\ATTRPARENT column 4 must precede a numeric or datetime column attribute association

  Now... Finally the interesting part...

  Back to the documentation...
  

  I don't mind if the size of the attribute is generated and then those associated with step or in two separate steps.

  I try to do both tasks in one step only because that's what the documentation seems to suggest attributes at several levels.

  First of all I read:

  If you work with a multilevel dimension attribute or with a dimension of the attribute of the digital type, Boolean, or date, the rules file requires an additional field. See working with Dimensions of the multilevel attribute.

  Yes, I work with a dimension of the multilevel attribute so the above statement applies (I guess) and so I'm going to see what works with several levels attribute Dimensions has to say.

  Then, I read:

  When an attribute is part of a digital multi-level, Boolean, or dimension attribute date, the source data must include columns for all generations or the size of the attribute levels.

  Fair enough... so I do what they say... my attribute dimension is at several levels, so I can assume that the statement above applies...

  So, I build my rule in accordance with the guidelines above.

  And then, as we have already mentioned, I get the error message about ATTRPARENT and when I read, it turns out that ATTRBPAREN cannot be used for numeric or date attribute dimensions !

  I'm totally confused at this point.

  What about the attribute text multi-level dimensions ?

  They are several levels but they are NOT numeric or date those!

  The documentation does not seem to tell what to do in this case...

  Anyone build something like that?

  I'm glad that you got to work. I tested and that is to create the dimension attribute and associate it with the rule of the load.

  You could ignore the construction size manually. Remove the attribute dimension. The rule1 go for the Dimension settings under the definition of Dimension tab. Then right-click on the product and change the properties. On the attribute tab, add 'Test' or whatever you want to call the attribute, and assign the text type. He adds the attribute and associate it with the basic dimension when it create the hierarchy. Note that the rules could actually be reversed where you create members of level 0 and then more later to create the hierarchy.  Of course you must pass the size of the attribute association to the other rule

  No limits are defined as such:
  How many Maximum number of Dimensions can create?

  Even in the Ser60, it says "many":

  A base dimension member can have many attributes, but that one attribute of each dimension of the attribute.
