Bad Windows 7 on RAM Upgrade Advisor

Just ran Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if I could run Windows 7 and he said: I have 1.8 GB of RAM? I have 2 GB so no idea why he comes up with 1.8?

If the computer has a graphics card it is not distinct from the memory for the video system. Instead, the graphics chip claims some of the system memory for its use. 200-256 MB is pretty typical.

  • Windows 7 upgrade advisor, program compatibility HP Media

owner of an HP dv6-1245dx. Always running vista, upgrade to 7 soon.

I downloaded the windows Upgrade Advisor 7, I ran the program. 3 mistakes come in saying I have the version of the HP Media Smart DVD, HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, HP Media TV program

I click on him "click here to get a compatiable version," programs.

    1. I click on HP Media Smart DVD, it takes me to a page where it wants me to download a version for HP touchsmart... but I do not have an HP smart touch, I a dv6 (wrong product).

    2. I click on the HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, which brings me to random about the software with no upgrade or products page

    3. I click on th HP Media TV, I see that he wants me to download an older version of the program.

so I download, install, restart my computer, run the Upgrade Advisor, hoping to see that there are 2 errors, but NO, the HP mediaSmart TV said it must still be fixed... which I just did again!

Basically the first link go to a page of bad product, and the second link sent me to a random page that talks about program and it does not recognize that I just fixed one of the questions that he told me to fix.

Can you guys help out me?

What are the program version compatiability of HP Media Smart DVD, HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, HP Media TV, which will allow me to level to windows 7 safely?

    Hello

Windows 7 upgrade advisor is not so smart as you think. It showes sometimes bad results.

According to this document from HP to down:

    The upgrade to Windows 7

    Question:

Unable to uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD in Windows 7.

    Fix or workaround:

Uninstall MediaSmart DVD before the upgrade to Windows 7. After the upgrade to Windows 7, install the compatible version Windows 7 HP MediaSmart DVD the DVD Upgrade Wizard at level HP or www.hp.com/support .

Which means then you just uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD before upgrade.

When you're after update just install all of the latest software for MediaSmart and everything should be ok.

  • Upcoming games with Windows 7 will not work on Presario SR1020NX. Upgrade Advisor said that W7 would work with the exception of the Aero

W7 Upgrade Advisor said it would work with the exception of Windows Aero.  When the games to try to come with W7 get window 'game running in software rendering... '. Hardware acceleration disabled or not supported by the video card driver"games will not work. A check says last drivers are installed.  Tried to reinstall WXP in separeat partition to see if would work like that but will not because most recent W7.

I suggest that you use XP personally gave a computer which is so old.

If you have a computer with XP (3 + years) and have not changed at least two of these things (CPU, RAM, video card), you should probably stick with XP. Not worth the headache of praying that things work with a material more old which probably is no longer supported on the new OS.
Usually, people that the computer was shipped with Vista 1, 2 or less it several years ago can be upgraded to 7 without too much trouble if it was a mid-range machine.

In addition, it seems that Windows is not recognizing your graphics card. It looks like (http://www99.shopping.com/xPO-Hewlett-Packard-SR1020NX-CEL2-8-512-80-COM-XPH) you have an Intel Extreme graphics card. However, nothing about it is extreme. Since it is an extreme Intel card I guess Windows Update should find the drivers for you, but it is not then maybe the video card is just too outdated for 7? I'm not sure.

Moreover, I wouldn't worry much about the lack of updates for XP right now. If ever you encounter more money then get the new computer with 7 on it, but at this time I suggest you stay on XP if your hardware and software actually works and that is more important than a few features of 7.

  • Error on Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

I have installed and started the Advisor to upgrade as an administrator on a x 64 Windows vista system.  The error I get is the following.

Windows Upgrade Advisor could not reach the server from Microsoft for more compatibility information.  Check your Internet connection or see if there is a new version of the Advisor windows 7 available.

My Internet is fine even don't ask.  I have double 6 MB dsl lines in my network and I'm making this post.
    My specs are:

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 64-bit
    EVGA X 58 Motherboard
    I7 940 CPU
    6 GB dominator RAM
2 x gtx 285 video cards in sli
    2 terabytes of combined storage

No was not that.  Must have been a glitch in the download.  I uninstalled and deleted the program.  re-downloaded and installed and it worked fine.  said that I have a few questions but other than that my system was more than capable.  Thank you all.

  • Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Rhine II fast ethernet ADAPTER

I am currently running XP SP3 32 bit on AMD Athlon 64, 2 GB RAM machine.  I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit.

    I read this: http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-xp-to-windows-7

I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - version 64 bit says 9 questions, 8 of whom are software (Adobe, shockwave, .NET 1.1, etc.), but that makes me nervous is VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet adapt driver would need to be updated.
I run Belarc and identified as VT8237 chipset. so I downloaded the latest driver here: http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp and got the 3.87 driver version dated Date may 5, 2011.
I have re-ran Upgrade Advisor, and it is still showing that I have to get the latest driver.  I have the latest driver, using my CURRENT operating system to choose.
Do I need to download the driver for the VT8237 selecting Windows 7 as OS?

You need to download and save the driver Windows 7 for the VT8237.

After the upgrade, you must apply the driver. Until you install the Windows 7 driver after the update you will not be able to access the internet.

It would be wise download and save all drivers Windows 7 you might need for your system.

The upgrade cheaper, assuming that the offer is available where you are, is to upgrade to Windows 8 at price special launch. You'll need the drivers Windows 8 If you did.

Given that you want to move to 64-bit, you must upgrade to a club. If you have access to a 64-bit system, you can buy and download an upgrade in line 64-bit on this system. The upgrade is not bound to the system on which it is downloaded.

  • Windows 7 upgrade advisor, Vista, says that Firefox must be uninstalled before the upgrade and that I won't be able to reinstall it, is it true?

I'm currently running Vista, 32-bit. I am considering upgrading to Windows 7. I ran the report Upgrade Advisor and he said "Mozilla Firefox 20.0.1 must be uninstalled before the upgrade to Windows 7. You will be able to reinstall it after upgrading to Windows 7. "This seems inaccurate info, based on the Firefox site, but I want to check what I have to do before you start the upgrade. Leave Firefox installed and in place when I update or uninstall and reinstall then after the upgrade?

Hello herplaw, you're right, this doesn't look good - firefox will work fine on windows 7. I leave it installed and to proceed with the update. in any case (if you need to reinstall it later), you can also save personal information that is stored in your firefox profile before continuing: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

  • HP Pavilion & "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor came across a problem.

Windows 7 would work on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6132eu)?

So I used "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" of the Microsofts. Which caused the error "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor stumbled into a problem that your scanning devices. Upgrade Advisor needs to be able to scan your devices to determine whether your computer is capable of running Windows 7 ".

The laptop is probably not good enough for Windows 7, why?

I assumed, the Upgrade Advisor would tell me, what pieces of hardware is / are not specific to Windows 7.

In a forum Technet, say, the Adviser is blocked by some HP hardware. Which?

    Best regards, Willem

    My problem has been resolved.

Previously, the problem with "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor BETA.

I waited two months - now, I executed the Adviser again, resulting in "an important upgrade".

And guess: update Advisor works like a rocket, finishing with a nice report with minor problems.

So I think that the problem was a "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" - problem - not a HP computer laptop-problem.

  • Upgrade Advisor Windows vista - Tecra M5

I ran Windows vista upgrade advisor on my Tecra M5 and they suggested me to upgrade the following: -.

    (1) HD Audio Driver.
    Install a specialized audio driver.
Your system is configured for high definition audio, which does not work with Windows Vista. You may lose the audio ability if you install Windows Vista. Contact your computer manufacturer to see if an upgrade is available.

    (2) Bluetooth ACPI from TOSHIBA.
Go to the website of the device manufacturer to obtain an updated driver.

    (3) NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110 M NVIDIA.
After upgrade, go to the Windows Update site to download the latest driver for this device.

    (4) fingerprints UPEK TouchChip coprocessor.
After upgrade, go to the Windows Update site to download the latest driver for this device.

    (5) a long list of programs which is given below: -.
    TOSHIBA ConfigFree.
TOSHIBA Mobile Extension3 for Windows XP V3.78.00.XP.
    Protector Suite 5.4.
    Wireless keyboard shortcut.
    Alps Pointing-device Driver.
    TFncKy.
    Sonic RecordNow.
    TOSHIBA Power Saver.
    TOSHIBA utilities.
Battery Bluetooth for Windows by Toshiba.
    Intel PROSet / Wireless.
    TOSHIBA SD Memory Boot Utility.
    TOSHIBA HDD Protection.

After seeing so long list looks like that I can't install and run windows vista properly and without problems. What should I do to upgrade all the things above? I would not find the exact place to upgrade these things.

    Any other suggestions?

    Hello

I see a long list of drivers that need to be updated: O
But I m not surprised because all the drivers of Toshiba pilots and as far as I know these drivers are designed for only the WinXP. Request as a result of update.

But as you may know Vista is not official on the market and that's why you won't find any Toshiba Vista drivers on the Web site.
I think that Toshiba will offer drivers if Vista will be official on the market.

    We will have to wait

  • Windows 7 upgrade advisor

I have a friend who has a desktop dell running windows ME and he wants to upgrade to windows 7. but he is not sure if the Upgrade Advisor works and if he can make it work

    can someone help him?

A computer running Windows ME probably will not reach minimum hardware requirements to install and run Windows 7.  Better to buy a new computer that comes with Windows 7 preinstalled.  Examples

  • Cannot download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

I can't download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Everytime I try it says "Connection interrupted", but there is nothing wrong with my connection. I had the same problem when I bought a Zune and tried to download the software necessary to run it (I had to go back because I never solved the problem) now I think, I never seem to be able to download anything from Microsoft, but I don't have an active version of Windows Vista with the valid product key.

What should I do to fix this? I will pass a 32-bit version of Vista to a 64 bit 7 as soon as get the boot disk (I have to wait for the boot disk, right?...) and I want to get things ready. Thank you.

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor never-ending analysis. Despite saying that the scan would take only a few minutes, he keeps just analysis ad infinitum (about 24 hours before I got tired of it and stopped). The clues as to why this is happening and how I can make it work properly?

  • I intend to move from Vista to 7, but when I try to use Microsoft Upgrade Advisor, I am stopped by this same window - 0I "cannot display the page XML - the server did not understand the request" use the program by following the instructions

No recent changes have been made to my computer. I hesitate to upgrade to 7 until this problem is sorted

There could be a problem with Vista.
Run the Advisor to upgrade in clean boot and check:

If this does not help, then run the vista repair and then run Upgrade Advisor and check:
