Bank ask I upgrade my browser, have links with MAC - do I trust him?

I have a MAC OS X Version 10.7.5.  My financial institution asked that I update my web browser.  They have links to Google, Mac - should - I trust their site for update?

You can only get a more modern version of Safari by updating the full version of Mac OS X.

Given that the Cougar is very old and Mavericks and Yosemite are no longer available, you must use the App Store to download El Capitan and Safari 9.
