  Of all the software that I use, probably none irritates me quite as much as Adobe Flash Player. (I've dumped at least since Adobe Reader, Java and all things Google). What a pain it is to keep this evil need patched on all my systems and browsers!

  -All the weeks Flash seems to release a new version addressing "vulnerabilities", the latest version being seemingly 11.4.402.278 after being released 10 days ago.

  -C' is my practice to avoid downloading the new software until the info on new changelog or release notes
  are published. I want to know exactly why it is important to upgrade until I get a 'pig in a poke. "

  -Adobe (and Secunia) still have to publish this info for the latest version of Flash. Thus, all my systems continue to use the old version 11.4.402.265. And Secunia PSI continues to tell me that this version is fully patched and 'up-to-date' on all my systems (XP and Win7). PSI has historically had a day or two to get the current with security updates, but after 10 days, I tend to trust him.

  -Finally, it is my understanding that the latest versions of Flash (Control Panel > Flash console > Advanced tab) allowed to auto-update to the newer versions of the Flash, or at least to indicate a when newer versions were available to install (option I chose). I still get this function runs on any of my systems.

  I missing something here, or is the top a valid rant?

  Since you did the recovery I assumeyou already tried to the unit powering down and back up.

  This is a weird problem I havn't seen before, but sometimes the sensors get currupt and need a full reimage to return to normal.

• HP Officejet 6500 E709n Console lights flashing & is not printing

  HP Officejet 6500 E709n stopped working yesterday and almost all of the lights on the console keep flashing continuously.  I get a message on the display to turn off, then turn it on but it still does the same once I do this.

  I have sought and found how to use # and 3 keys for a partial resets when you plug back in the power supply, but after I did it is still the same as before?

  I unplugged the power supply and all the rest and sit all night and this morning it did the same thing.

  Is it possible to do a complete reset instead of a part of the console?

  OK tried to edit the post previous to add to this, but has not see a button "Edit"?

  So I got the printer Open as when you change cartredges and noticed that the print heads has not moved at the Center as usual?  Tried moving the print head with my hand and he moved only about 1/4 "back and all of a sudden the print head moved to the center that he assumed?  Closed the top and crossed a calibration and then printed that and now it works again.  Go figure!

  I guess that's a mechanical and electrical/electronic problem rather than something.  I looked and didn't see anything wrong with gears and stuff on top so it can be one problem somewhere else.

  Ennywho, I will continue to use it like that too long it will work.

  Technically, I'm trying to start this direct see broadcasting up the free app called "Adobe Flash Media Encoder 3.2", but to launch it I would need a service to start everything. You guys can see what I'm typing on this text box I type "localhost" without the «» I really need help, I want to say thanks to advanced to everyone who responds.

  Thanks for the information. I doubt that services not started at all.

  You should check the FMS logs @ FMS installation directory\logs folder, and this installation directory is by default c:\program files\adobe\flash media server.

  If you are using Windows 7, you need start services to run as an administrator. Open a prompt with administrator privileges and then start the services fms as below:

  net start fms

  net start fmsadmin

  So now you're able to connect.

• Flash Admin Console shows no application on my Flash Media Server?

  My employer has a Flash Media Server, I wrote a little app video streaming a few years ago.  Well, the videos have stopped working and I was asked to solve problems.  I pulled up to the fms_adminConsole.swf and connected to my server.  Now, it has been long since I messed up with the server, but if I remember correctly, there was a great list of apps on the list on the left side of the display 'Display the Applications' to the console.  When I log in, there is no described applications.  If I hit the button "New Instance" in the empty list, I am presented with a list of all applications that I think I should see in the list of Applications.  If I choose one of them, a new instance of the application appears in the list of applications, and I'm asked to give it a name, the default being '_definst_.  If I hit enter to create this instance, it remains on the list and the instance data is displayed on the right panel until the console refreshes and then everything disappears and I'm back for an empty list of applications again.

  Go to "Manage servers", I see a list of applications on the applications tab that I expect to see.  The app that streams the video that has problems is on the list.

  Is this normal behavior for the Flash Media Server Console?  I wouldn't have a list of applications in the "Access to applications" section of the console?  I created a dozen so far, and they are all listed under servers manage > Applications, but not under "access to applications.  Can anyone comment if I'm wrong here or missed something?  Or if someone can confirm that I SHOULD see something under 'Access to applications' and that there is indeed something weird happens with the server.

  What you see is a correct behavior. Until and unless the applications are loaded or some clients are connected to them, they will be not shown in the default view applications tab. Try to connect to one of the applications you have and you will see that it gets automatically listed here.

  But how do the 2 steps under linux?

  Also, there are still a thing that you can do - if you're not so special by using the Console but wants just the Admin commands to work. You can use the commands Api HTTP Admin place - you will need to configure your Users.xml to allow the HTTP Admin API commands and then read API Admin on how to use it.

  I suggest try everything in my previous post and see if it works for you.

I went to get.adobe.com and updated to 17.0.0.169, but the warning was repeated and the blocked content. I checked youtube, which would play music and videos tutorial DIY of two tests without any problem, but still repeat the warning of block.   My firewall is set to "Manual control" and I get warnings for all attempts to access from the Internet.
  Firefox is already granted outbound access to the Internet, so I surfed without additional warnings. So if I go on YouTube, I can watch videos without receiving a prompt from my firewall.

  However when I visit a secure account login page (where I have to enter my username and PW) the firewall warns me that 'Firefox tries to use Adobe Flash Player 11.8 r800 to access the Internet.

  A prompt like this is provided by the firewall when a program uses another Internet access. If for example I click on a link in MS Excel, the firewall will tell me that Excel tries to use Firefox to access the Internet.

  Makes me concerned is:
  (1) Firefox already has access privileges. It should not "use Flash to access the internet.
  (2) this happens when I am about to use the keyboard to enter sensitive data in a secure page
  (3) there is no [apparent] Flash elements on the login pages.

  Could I have acquired a malicious Flash software that tries to collect the keystrokes and transmit somewhere? Is there a way to show (in Firefox) which Flash file works at some point? (This would let me distinguish what is what makes the access attempt)

  I am completely protected with Antivirus, anti-spam and breach prevention software. I also run Norton Power Eraser to see if there was anything at the root level. Nothing found.

  Pages can use Flash, even when there is no video is displayed. For example some sites use Flash for menus, some for audio and some may load Flash in their Google Analytics scripts so that they know as much as possible on your system.

  In most cases, the Flash Player will try to load a. SWF file, even if maybe it's not always easy. You might look for it in the Firefox Web Console.

  When viewing the page, press Ctrl + Shift + k, the reload of the page. If there is a request to support Flash on the page, it should appear in the console (if the request is blocked by a firewall, it must nevertheless appear as pending a request). There is a search/filter box where you could try to enter .swf to reduce the time needed to go through the list. You can find the URL of the requested file? That might or might not make you comfortable on demand.

  Firefox said I have to install flash player... I have the most up to date flash player... it works fine when you use IE.

  I found information leading me to believe that compatibility between Java SE6 U29 6.0.290.11 and Flash 11.1.102.55 plugins for Firefox 8. Would someone please confirm or deny the weather these plugins are compatible with Firefox 8?

  1. Java Console is an Extension (not a Plugin) installed by Java.
  2. As far as I know, Firefox allows to disable the Java Console in all future versions. Those who need it can go on Add-ons > Extensions and click on the 'Activate' button or choose for him allow install/update Firefox.
  3. Java, will install a new extension of the Java Console in Firefox with each update.
  4. You can accumulate the old Java Console extensions as always, the update of Java removes the 'old'.
     • In my opinion, it is best to check and remove older versions of Java Console (follow the instructions in the article I posted above).
     • You don't need to remove old versions of Java Console if having obsolete extensions / junk on your system does not concern you.
  5. Firefox 8 and later versions will present a screen when you install or update, giving the user the choice of activation or deactivation of the modules. • How can I get the console error stop appearing?

  My error console keeps popping up when I open Firefox or when occurs a pop-up but its getting really boring because he has never done this before. Please tell me how to stop appearing.

• Toshiba Flash Cards v1.1.7 - problem with Fn keys

  After finally being able to launch Toshiba Flash Cards ([see thread | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=29870&tstart=0]), I just found out that Fn + key does not activate the functions!

  Activate the mouse and click on the correct card works however as expected.

  I also discovered that the addition of Raid console to my Flash cards causes CF to crash!
