  • In the preview, is this normal for a series of small to keep opening browser windows?

When I saw in the Internet Explorer browser, I receive a small string of the browser windows that I need to view my pages I have designed for maximized screen individually. Is this a standard DW Preview in the browser process? I use 4 DW and IE 7.  I have Vista OS with screen resolution 1600 x 1200. All the targets of my pages are fixed empty. I don't want myself or my viewers to be entered through this tedious process when the site is finally online. I have a problem here?

You know, I get that every once in a while. I think it has more to do with how you last left your browser with something to do with Dreamweaver. Go to your browser, maximize, then shut up. Then open it again and see if it happens great this time.

And, of course, you can't control what your viewers do with their browser, unless you create these behaviours 'display the new window '. Your behavior window was empty, maybe because you have to first select the thumbnail or text... and then in the behaviors panel, press the "add the behavior." Choose browser window open, etc. etc.

  • Problem with the behavior of "open the window of your browser.

I am very new to Dreamweaver from Golive. My problem is with the behavior of the "open new browser window". I found nothing in the archives which deals with this issue.

I have a link to a page that is not on my site, by clicking on the link, the browser should open a new window showing the other site, while my website is and remains unchanged.

Right now, when I click on the link not only a new window opens with this site on this topic, but the page on my site where the link is also changed to this new site.

How can I keep my page to change and only open new browser window?

I've tried it on several browsers and same problem exists.

I use PS CS5 with the last update on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.6 and 8 GB of RAM

Right now, when I click on the link not only a new window opens with this site on this topic, but the page on my site where the link is also changed to this new site.

It's because you have applied the behavior in a way that leaves the href attribute of the link to the page linked as well as the behavior.  You can easily fix that by changing this-

    http://www.example.com/whatever.html"onclick ="MM_openBrWindow (...);" return false">

Now, you will have a link that can still work even when javascript is turned off in the browser of the visitor.

  • URL/file open browser window size

    Hey guys,.

I've looked just about everywhere and while I'm pretty sure the response to 100%, I thought I would ask this: Y at - it a script or a widget that allows you to set the settings of a browser window that you open with the OpenURL action?

I created a table of contents that is customized using advanced actions.  While I found a way to create relative paths, I can't find a way to say "open this window to 800 x 600, without toolbars, etc."

Looks like a good improvement for Cap 6, but I was hoping that someone has found a way to pull this off.

You could do something like this in the Script_Window inside the action "Execute Javascript" of Cp and attach it to a button:

    var win = window.open('http://www.google.com', 'popup', 'width=640, height=480, location=no, menubar=no, status=no, toolbar=no, scrollbars=no, resizable=no');
    win.focus();

  • Open browser window problem

I hope that this is a pretty easy fix. I am an artist, a new construction site, now that I've finally migrated from GoLive to Dreamweaver. Anyway, I have a gallery page that is long enough and whenever you click on a small image (residing on the home page) and a new browser window opens with the largest image displayed, the homepage in the background is aligned with the top of the page. It is not the end of the world, but this page should stay where it is so that people will not have to scroll back down to where they were each time, they click an image. I have a few anchor points on the page so that people can jump up to the desired section, but I don't think that could be the cause of the problem. Obviously I'm not an expert on coding; I don't even rate as an amateur. S #! $, I barely even rank as a novice; I draw for a living. , Any help with this would be appreciated. Just speak slowly...

There is much to learn from the migration of GL to DW. One of them is called
methods of 'best practice '. Your symptoms indicate that you have a link like
    -

Browsers read the ' # ' (octothorpe) as a default named anchor upwards
off the page, they will when you click. The solution is to make your
    links like this-

Now you have a link that a) won't jump to the top and b) will work (somehow
de), even if the visitor has javascript disabled. Make sense?

And by the way, if you avoided Code view when using GL, I have a few very
    bad news for you...

  • Behavior question open new browser window

I have a site that has a list of names of deceased persons. When a viewer clicks on a name I have a new open browser window which is a page of small specific Memorial for this person. This list is long enough so the viewer must scroll down a ways to get to the bottom. If the viewer clicks on a name down and then close this new browser window, they have to scroll all the way down and find where they left off. This assumes of course, they're going to view the pages of memory for each person. Is there a way to make the "original (with the list of names)" page refreshes to the top of the page? I use and you want to continue using the tables and no layers or styles.

It would be preferable to use an arbitrary string after the ' # ', ensuring that
as the identifier of fragment is * not * corresponds to an anchor named on the page.
In this way, the document will not jump * and * won't freeze; which can happen
in IE6 when users click on links that have "javascript"; for the href values.
An approach even better of course would be to use a 'real' href (that of)
load in the pop-up) with a statement of "return false"...

  • Open the behavior of the browser - no centering option window

    Hello world

I used the behavior to open a browser window in Dreamweaver to open a small window when the user clicks on a link, but the behavior does not provide an option to place the window in the center of the screen. Does anyone know if there is another behavior that provides this option, or how to modify the javascript code to make it work?

Below is the code generated by Dreamweaver.

    Thanks for any help.

DW does not offer this in any built-in function. You can manually hack the
code inserted to produce this effect (you'd have to Google to find the)
the necessary modifications), or you can use an extension of part 3 of the to do and much
more. I regularly use DivaPOP for things like this-
