  I'm playing with the persistence of data on th BB (4.2 +) API and have a general question about the best/recommended way to use, performance among these two options for the scenario:

  SCENARIO: My application handles about 4 entities ("models", if you want to MVC-talk) information.

  Option 1: Create a class for each model (vector extension) with a PersistentObject and keyfor each.

  Option 2: Create a unique Hashtable or a vector, which will be a single instance of PersistenObject, and there are 4 references to the models/entities.

  Maybe that's not a big deal, but I would like to know which of these two approaches is preferable. Or is there a third?

  What happens if the scenario includes models more and more thousands of entries each?

  A number of things.

  (1) I think that this comment of Plato is incorrect:

  "all calls to hash.put () will automatically continue the news data - there is no need for calls following to.commit ().

  It is my understanding, that because the object is shared, it seems that this happens, but in fact, except if you make a commit, you cannot be 100% sure that the data has been written to Flash.  However, when a commit is made, treatment will commit all the missing data, so data could be brought through the validation of another application (and vice versa).

  (2) to respond to this comment:

  My understanding and experience suggests that only the uncommitted objects are validated.  For example, I tested with a vector containing a large number of items.  If I update an element, and then validate the operation, validation is extremely fast.  If I update a lot, and then engages, the validation takes more time.

  One last point, I agree with Simon, I'd go with a hash table or a single vector.  Another consideration is synchronization, you can break it up to make sync easier, if you have multiple Threads that need to synchronize on different parts of this one object.

  I have an order form which must be converted to an editable pdf form that users can fill in electronically and email back. Currently, the document is in Excel, and while I can convert it to PDF, I prefer to create the whole thing using the PDF.

  PDF files should not be created from scratch and if you try to do you will soon discover that it is extremely difficult and heavy.

  Stick with the creation of the file in Excel (or any other similar application, such as Word, InDesign, etc.) and then convert to PDF and add form fields in Acrobat.

  Be sure to keep a copy of the Excel file, well, in case you need to make any changes to the layout of the file later.

  If you don't do this then you can order replace Pages use in Acrobat to insert new pages (static) on the 'old' in your PDF file, that will keep all the form fields and scripts of tact. You need to just adjust the locations or the size of the fields, where this is necessary.

  How the rzusbstick does not appear on your system?  It is a resource of COM?  If so, you probably want to use the API of our VISA to write commands in the port.  These commands will be similar to what you are doing, although you will probably want to use integers instead of doubles.

  There are several examples of series in the Finder of LabVIEW example available in the Help menu in LabVIEW.

  Classic race condition.  dump the loop and node-p and just wire the 2D table on the terminal Board. !

  I don't see the race condition.  What I see is the table once the last element has been written for it all run the oil.  I saw looked it with point culminating performance on.

  But I agree entirely with writing to the Terminal.  It is a 1 d array, so you will need to use an array of generation and convert a 2D array in order so that he could write correctly.

  The best way is to not use the tabular forms at all. Create an interactive report related to a form of single line based on a procedure that handles the DML and you will have a better way for users to access data and a much more robust maintenance page.

  If you need to use a tabular presentation, and then create a view to join the 2 tables, INSTEAD OF triggers on tables insert/update/delete according to needs and create the tabular form to the normal display.

  My answer was, there are 2 possible ways, depending on the number of indexes on the table

  (1) if there is a lot (or wholesale) index on the table OR the database is in FORCE LOGGING mode (due to log shipping), I just run an UPDATE command on the table and update all records. This will generate a lot of redo and undo, but we cannot do anything for indexes

  (2) if there is not a lot of clues, I'll create an empty table of the same structure (create table t2 nologging in select * from t1 where 1 = 2). Then, using an INSERT... AS SELECT... command, with the ' col3 * 2 "instead of col3, I insert any data into the new table with APPEND tip. Then create all indexes on the new table and finally, rename T2 T1

  In case the first solution, I can avoid the recreation of the index and save this I/O. In the case of newspapers, first solution makes more sense anyway.

  Second solution is logical, if we have the freedom of creating objects in NOLOGGING mode.

  What do you experts? I think in the right direction? or what?

  I want to insert a simple table into a page in Muse.  This is an Excel spreadsheet with 6 rows and 4 columns.  It seems that I can select the cells in Excel, copy and paste in Muse.  I can also create the table directly in Muse using text boxes with striped borders - easy since my table is so small.  I read the posts here on the use of object and place, but I don't know that I need it.  I didn't need the ability to modify the data of Muse.

  My question is this: what is the best way to create a simple table in Muse?
