  • M30 BIOS Questions...

Hi guys I have a M30 like everyone else!
I tried upgrading the Bios (I initially v1.4) so I had to go down to v1.2 to reclassify to v1.6 (as indicated by the Toshiba download pages), here comes the tricky part... everything went smoothly in the decommissioning (through the version of the software not the boot disc one) but when I try the upgrade I get the error "you are not an authorized user"... the question is... How the f@# may downgrade, but I can't be upgraded?

This is really pissing me off the coast... I tried different tricks (since I don't have a floppy drive, and I don't want to buy one just for this reason...) as network card, boot from removable device, boot CD but still nothing works because I am trying to level with the second program (the diskette of starting one).

Any ideas would be very appreciated

    Hi guy,

Why you downgrade to version 1.2?
To upgrade the M30, version 1.2 series or later must be installed.
I Don t understand your question...
Is that your M30 is unbootable? Have you tried updating the BIOS with the traditional version?
You don t need a floppy drive, because you can also burn a CD of the BIOS update.
Please give me more input, I can help you...

  • Update to Windows 7 - BIOS question - Satellite A350-13 has

    Hello

I have the Toshiba A350-13 has, for the Poland.
It came with Vista 32 bit system. I would like to install Windows 7 64 bit.

So I have a question for the BIOS update.
In my section of driver model toshiba for WIN7 there is only a 32-bit operating system independent BIOS, but in the Vista section, there is a 64-bit BIOS.
So should I stay with the BIOS of 32-bit or 64-bit Vista BIOS update?

    Best regards.

    Hello

You have performance or laptop using 32-bit BIOS?

If everything works properly, then let the 32-bit on your laptop BIOS.

I recommend the update to the BIOS if serious problems would seem

    See you soon

  • Don't recharge Tecra S11-119 - updated BIOS question too!

My computer is a year. It was quite well, until I noticed that he had ceased to charge the battery. After some googling I found that there could be an update of the BIOS, that I had missed. When you try to install the BIOS update, I get a message saying I need to plug in my computer first (which is always that the dough is not a charge).

BIOS update program says he wants to be updated as follows:

BIOS version: current Ver.2.60--> updated Ver.3.20
THIS Version: Current Ver.1.80--> updated Ver.1.90

    OS: Windows 7
    BIOS file I downloaded: bios-20110714132558

Is this a known problem with a fix available?

    Hello

Are you sure that you have downloaded and used the good version of the BIOS.
I have read about similar error message and finally the used user isn't compatible BIOS.

In addition the VAP (value added package) must be installed to update BIOS! In case you, I recommend you to reinstall this tool too.

But I'm not quite sure if the BIOS update will help you solve the problem of battery m
Maybe you need to replace the battery

  • Update BIOS question - 5100 series

    I have a satellite 5110 (Australian model)
What changes have been made with the latest bios flash Update v1.2?
What is the v1.5 "EC/KBC? What is doing?
I did both, but noticed no difference... maybe it was to recognize 1gig instead of 512 MB?

    Thank you, andrew.

    Hello

Unfortunately there are no official documents on changes in the BIOS.
As far as I know a few units need the EC/KBC (keyboard controller) day after the BIOS update. NOTE: In the case where the machine power trouble during the update motherboard will be a pity!
Moreover, I don t think that after updating the BIOS, the unit will be able to recognize a memory of 1 GB.

    Good bye

  • Update BIOS question on Satellite A200-25 b

    * Hello! *

I have a dual boot with windows xp/ubuntu. I want my my BIOS for more functions but can I replace the v1.7 for the v5.6? I read: «Ce Bios is only compatible for laptop computers equipped with Windows XP» -->

    5.6 BIOS and my computer

I don't want to crash my computer.

Sorry if my English is not perfect... I'm French.

    Hello

I suggest that you follow the updates to the BIOS in Windows XP Home edition. The reason v5.x upgrades are available (and say that the BIOS is only compatible with laptop computers equipped with Windows XP) because they are updated BIOS to allow installation of Windows Vista.

If you do not want to upgrade to Windows Vista, stay with the WXP BIOS in the range v1.x - v2.x (also check whether or not the BIOS is specifically for Windows XP).

    I hope this helps.

  • Disk replacement HARD & BIOS question - Satellite A60

    Hi guys

I have a Satellite A60-672 and his original 40 GB drive is dead. I got a Seagate 80 GB HDD as a replacement, but after it is inserted, it does not show in the BIOS. I did some searching on Google but not really came up with a large part. Is it possible that the BIOS does not recognize the new drive due to the larger size?

I looked in the BIOS upgrade (currently version 1.50) and found an update to 1.90. After reading the upgrade of BIOS FAQ (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?z=234&service=EU&from=faq_selection&CFID=B IOS & FID = TRO0000000b07) I have saw apparently need a floppy drive that laptop did not. Can I use a CD - R in the place or what I need to get a USB floppy drive now?

    Thanks for any help.

    > Is it possible that the BIOS does not recognize the new HARD drive because of the larger drive?

Yes, it is quite possible and especially a reason why the large capacity HARD disk cannot be used.

It seems that the update of the BIOS on the Satellite A60 can be done only with the USB FDD.
But why you want to update the BIOS?
I don t think that the update will change something
It seems that the 80 GB are not possible.

The last step, you're trying to do is update the BIOS. To be honest you shouldn't do it especially if the laptop works fine and you didn t notice problems, especially if you use some external devices.

Update CPU is not certainly supported and I think you should know this.
There are different reasons for this > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

As far as I know it is designed without special BIOS for these purposes, especially not for public use.
Try to contact Toshiba service in your country and ask for help.
I put t think anyone here can help you with this.

  • Update BIOS question on the Qosmio F50/F55 series

I have advanced and updated the bios of the 1.30 the 2.20 and everything went well.
I did not like the new bios for the portable was little more warm, so I went to downgrade to the 1.30.
I have two toshiba Web site and has made the winphlash64.

Thing is that it won't let you not downgrade, then I open the phlash.ini and changed the "UpdateMode = 3-UpdateMode = 0" and he replace the parameters to downgrade. He did the downgrade successfully as "starting from 1 to 35 block". When it restarted I get a black screen only dead pc, no MESSAGE. I did the recovery from the crisis and did not work on a USB "bios qosmio are greater than 2MB and can fit on a floppy."

Maybe someone here knows perhaps changing the "UpdateMode = 3-UpdateMode = 0" I have to manually reset the cmos?
I don't have a warranty, and I know that the laptop is fine, and the bios chip is soldered in 32 pins are difficult to desolder.

    Thank you very much!!

As far as I know that you need a traditional version of the BIOS update in order to downgrade the BIOS

However, the fact is that your laptop does not start, which means that the module ROM was not properly flashed and it needs to be flashed again with a disc of crisis.

  • bios question [l430]

So I just got my L430 running W8. Maybe I'll have simply not my computer off completely, but every time I try to turn it off in W8 (ctrl + alt + dlt then off) he botts in w8 in like 3 seconds. I do not have a SSD, so this seems really fast.

In any case, I'm trying to get into the bios, but no matter what I press the button, it does not work (I tried ESC and f1 - f12).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Ian.

When you start the computer, press ENTER. Which will bring a new type of menu of thing where, if you want to access BIOS, you have to press F1.

  • Envy 15-j000 Quad ed: Windows 8 recovery USB and series Win8 OEM BIOS. question

Hello. IM currently living in South Korea and had to format my laptop.

Ive lost my usb backup and was about to order the recovery usb kit but its only for USA / Canada with more than $50 price tag

I remember when I did the format with my usb kit,

I have not enter windows cd - key, so im guessing if it was the BIOS on product key

Is there a way to confirm this? while I don't have to order the recovery kit.

and I only need to download the OEM of Windows 8 in line with the formatting?

    Hello:

If your laptop comes with the W8 then the OEM key is in the BIOS.

You can try the W8 file from this link and make your own regular W8 installation disc.

It is supposed to work with OEM product key in the BIOS of your PC.

  • BIOS question Pavilion dv5000

It's the bios a partition on the hard drive on my Pavilion dv5000 and if yes anyone knows what size is?

    Thanx

    Hello:

Do you mean a recovery partition?

The BIOS is not on the hard disk. It's on a ROM chip that is soldered to the motherboard.

I don't know what size would be a recovery partition. They vary depending on what operating system has been installed and the number of channels came with this specific model PC.

We can expect a recovery partion range 4 to 10 GB.

  • Operating system to load BIOS for Satellite Pro A200

    Hello

    I have a PSAE4E - 03300WEN Satellite Pro A200 with V5.30 BIOS and Windows 7 SP1 32 bit.
I improved the T2330 CPU to T8100 and thought to update the BIOS for increased functionality.
But in the Toshiba download page, I get the following 3 options:

2.60 - WIN32 this Bios is only compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista! (32-bit only!)
2.60 - WIN64 this Bios is only compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista! (64-bit only!)
5, 60 - WIN this Bios is NOT compatible for notebook computers equipped with Windows Vista!

    And the question is...
What about Windows 7? I should stick to V5.30 or go to a newer version? :-/

    See you soon!

    > I improved the T2330 CPU to T8100 and thought to update the BIOS for increased functionality.

First of all laptop manufacturers (any manufacturer it is) don t support CPU updates.
Of course, you can replace the CPU but it's your own risk.

But what I mean is that updates of BIOS don't provide additional functionality or improves which would increase the functionality after upgrade CPU and this means that the BIOS update is not necessary to obtain better performance even after upgrade CPU.

However, certain phrases on your BIOS question:
5.60 BIOS seems to be released for portable computers running Win XP:

Other versions of BIOS (v2.60 32-bit and 64-bit) are released for Vista systems I guess that this version should be compatible with Win 7 since its more similar to Vista to Win XP

However, you changed the processor and consequently the hardware configuration is different now, I can't say for sure if the BIOS update would be the best option in this case
