• BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook app has no icon "favorite places".

  My wife has a BB Torch, and we do not find the "Favorite places" icon on the Ribbon or banner of the Facebook app.  I pressed the menu button and control options, but there is nothing in there.  I tried to check the updates from the front but it was leaving tick check automatically.  GPS location is enabled in system properties.  Any suggestions?

  Remove all instances of Facebook on the device, then do a hard reset. Start App World and empty the cache, then try to install Facebook go to App World.

• BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook - App Notifications and email (fbapp v1.8.0.49)

  Hi all

  Have recently upgraded via the updater for Facebook v1.8.0.49 appworld

  In the previous version when a notification came through Facebook it would make appear an icon on the home screen of facebook and NOT send an email to the email address on blackberry.

  For example, I have an email address BIS set up on my camera (mobileemail.vodafone.net) and also have the blackberry facebook app messaging service enable (checked) in the facebook app and also the "blackberry Smartphone notifcation" checked in the facebook of PC through iexplorer.

  Before only facebook notifications came as the app or facebook knew it was the same address, since the upgrade I now get both an email to my BIS email account and a notification icon appears.

  I change anything in the options.

  (now tried logging in and out, reticking options, etc, nothing)

  Y at - it a new option, or is this a bug of upgrade. The application of face book has only delete the email and now sends to the device?

  Since typing this my wife with the 8520 just told me that she has the same problem.

  Does anyone else have this?

  This isn't a major problem as long as at least I'm getting a nowt rather than email and notification.

  Following my question the downgrade failed, I lost the Facebook app. The problem I have is that I can't download it from App World because the email address I used for PayPal is different from the one I use for my push BB.

  I tried to download version 1.6 but it says that my device does not support.

  Just to be clear, you are opening your browser and typing "www.blackberry.com/facebook" in there?  I do that and I get redirected to a page on the blackberry.com website has nothing on this subject but a download link for facebook.  No AppWorld, nothing else.

  This may seem like an insulting question, but we have seen problems not resolved due to small misunderstandings like this.  Please confirm that you type exactly this address in your browser.

  Remove your Facebook app in Options > Advanced Options > Applications.

  Reinstall it from www.blackberry.com/facebook and when running through the Facebook set up the wizard, see if you are now able to connect to your calendar.

  Looks like I'm not the only one having problems with this new update!

  I get a notification, I check. Its ALWAYS a friend request. I agree to the request, and it leaves the notification on my phone, so I can't get rid of the symbol facebook bit on my home screen, even if there is no uncontrolled notifications.

  So it happened once, it was a Brother of someone I don't know. I deleted the app, resettled, problem solved.

  Then, yesterday, I get a friend request of my best friend... Despite him having already! I agreed and he said that the request has been cancelled. So I guess what it me around, just perfect but its happened twice now and now I have 3 notifications FB 'ghosts' that will not disappear. Is it possible to fix this? I can't reinstall the application each time that it is happening. I don't have a 15 minute wait for my phone to reboot all the time.

  on your 9300, open the facebook app and find the place to disconnect from facebook within the app.

  Application Facebook of my wife accepts most of his user name and password. This started happening after the 2.0.0.37 of enforcement. The phone is a Pearl 9100, running OS 5.0 Bundle 1262.

  Open the Facebook app > Menu button > Options and scroll to the bottom and uncheck the option to integrate the Facebook calendar on your device and SAVE.

  Now, go back to your home screen and click on the Options > advanced > default services and make sure that your default calendar is the one you want, not the Facebook calendar.

  I have problems to display some of the apps like Farmville facebooks.  I can get to the view, but I have no pictures.  He States "If the page does not load to update Java ' but I don't know what my Balckberry program (Linux or other) is it still possible to do it with the Blackberry?  Thank you!

  It is very difficult, until Farmville creates a cleaner for BlackBerry application.

  The BlackBerry is running a RIM OS, not Linux.

  I've always had a '7' by the Facebook icon of 3 tiny pixel next to the clock on my main screen before.

  I checked and there is no notifications for me.

  I uninstalled the application and then reinstalled and now I have a "5" by the icon.  With still no notification.

  What the devil is this icon, and if poss, how do I turn off it?

  No, your main folder of Messages ON your BlackBerry. If you check your BlackBerry email a subfolder named by your email... then find the name Messages. Highlight is it, find messages and delete them or read them etc.
