BlackBerry Smartphones mass storage mode

Where on my BB Torch mass storage Mode?

When you are on this screen, press the BB menu button and another menu should appear with the feature activate.

Anyway, when you connect the device to the computer, you should get three options, which one is the Mode of USB storage.  What to choose, and then the options of WIndows for the USB storage should appear.  At this time, you can open the folders on your device, then drag and drop what you want folders on your PC the files on your device.

  • Media management to Smartphones blackBerry with mass storage Mode off

I just updated my 6.0.0.40 desktop software.  Roxio Media Manager is there no more.  For most of you, it's perhaps a blessing.  But my server company forced the mass storage mode to turn off.  For all its faults and quirks, Roxio was the only way I could transfer multimedia files to and from my handheld.  And now it's gone!

    Two questions for gurus:

    (1) is there one other than Roxio way to transfer media files to and from your handheld with the mass storage mode?

    (2) what is the latest version of Desktop Manager which includes Roxio?

    Hello.

Not really a guru, but the answers to your questions below are:

    1 n °

2 5.0.1 and you can download throrugh the Desktop Manager software support link.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones mass storage device: what!

    Hello

When I plug my BB on the USB port to load I get a pop-up on the BB asking me if I want to turn on mass storage mode.  What do this exactly?  I always select "no".

I have a 8 GB card in it, if that helps.

    Thank you!

It's just a matter if you want to be able to see the memory card on the computer (so you can add or remove files it contains).

You can find more information about it here:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Mass Storage error message

I have a 8 GB msd card in the 8320, mass storage is on, but when I access the phone via Roxio media manager, it the message "Please activate the Stoge mass on your device in Mode" Mithril. Tried on and outside, nothing. I can see the storage memory phones. There are pictures of the camera stored on the card, I can see from the phone. Also I can not see the phone via the XP Explorer.

All other synchronization functions seem to work.

Thanks for the answers but not resolved the problem. I found the answer on another forum and will post did it here because this is a common problem.

The phone (which was new out of the box T - Mobile 30 December 2008) doesn't have the correct operating system for T-Mobile. The version of the phone was 4.0.X (very old - makes me wonder about the history of the phone) and the Media Manager software was also 4.1.X - the version required for Desktop Manager is 4.6.x and for the version phone 4.5.x

You must first install the correct desktop to your manager, then open that and install the new operating system for the phone (takes a few hours), then you must re-enable all e-mail accounts and programs, as well as the phone itself.

    Questions which fixed the upgrade:

    Card Media access

    Media Manager

    Sync

    Address book

    and many other things.

Now, if someone has a suggestion for a good media manager that works with the Blackberry, I would be really glad the Roxio is a Devourer of memory and is clumsy and slow. BlackBerry needs to find a better partner.

My last words - why with a new phone, I can't this Council for support of BB? I guess that there is no support.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones mass storage problem

    Hey guys,.

I've been going through google for the last hour or so trying to find a solution to this, but I think I actually found a unique situation. Probably not so Im hoping someone here can help.

I bought a 4 GB Micro SD SDHC memory card for my phone from amazon.co.uk

I checked compatibility and according to amazon it seems to work with practically all the 8300, 8100 and new models.

OS on my phone is 4.5.0.163

    OS is Xp SP3

Director of office v6 (the one with the black gui)

    My problem is the following:

I connected my phone to my pc via the usb cable, the software loaded but claims it cannot detect the memory card. I checked in the 'Media Card' window on my phone and it says:

    Media card support: on

    Encryption mode: Off

    Mode Mass Storage Support: on

Turn on Mass Storage automatic when connected: fast

    Total area: 3.6 GB

    Free space: 3.6 GB

Its a new card fresh on the box, never been used.

The phone seems to be picking up, but the software is not.

With the Auto activate together to "ask", "Connecting to the office" message flashes on the screen of my phone. He of coming for a second then turns off then upward once again and he made it 3 - 4 times before it finally goes back to base Office of phones with no prompt to come.

When I put the enable auto on "yes" the "connecting to office" message arrives and remains standing, but I still cant transfer all the music on my phone and that's the only reason why I bought the card.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

OK, after doing some experiments with the software Ive got it works!

I simply uninstalled the DM V6 and installed V4.6, and now it works fine.

Putting music on the BB as we speak for the bus ride tomorrow ^^

So yeh my dose is if your using V4.5.0.163 of the software install and use office v4.6 Manager downloaded from the blackberry homesite as I did =)

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Mass Storage device not recognized...

I am running Windows XP (Media Center Edition) and at the time where I was using a 8320, I didn't have this problem... but now that I have a 8330, my computer does not recognize the MicroSD card, I got plugged into my phone. It's literally the same card that was in the 8320, and otherwise everything else works perfectly.

It is listed as an unknown in my Device Manager device, specifically as a "RIM Composite Device".

    * I already uninstalled the drivers of BB on my computer and reinstalled them.

    * I already uninstalled DM and reinstalled - not that I thought he would do anything, but it was worth it.

    * I went to the Microsoft support site and tried to use the drivers they have there.

    * I tried to disable the driver in my device manager and tried to force XP to recognize the device. No dice.

    UH... that's all! Any suggestions?

Just an update to this issue.

It is not really a solution, but I am sick of XP Media Center Edition, so I did a complete reformat of my laptop and installed XP Pro (as the words of God!) Long story short, my computer is recognizing the card support very well now. I can only assume there was some parameter of the register or glitch in my MCE that prevented the drivers to work as they should.

Anyway, solved! Thanks for the help!

  • BlackBerry 9530 smartphones will not be in mass storage mode after update to 4.7.0.90

I installed my OS to the latest leak (v4.7.0.90).  I tried to restore my settings, but found that the device will not enter mass storage mode.  DM gives me just a communication error, and the process stops.

    Any suggestions?

Play with the settings, I found that the error will be displayed if "Auto enable mass Storage Mode when connected ' is set to 'No '.  Set to Yes, save options, then try again restore allows the device enter mass storage Mode.

This behavior is not present in older versions I used (.75 et.86.  Each would have put the camera in Mode mass storage "on demand."

I'll start a restore and update accordingly.

  • Message from blackBerry Smartphones: MTP Device Mode is enabled on

I just did a hard reset (remove battery) on my Storm2 9550.  When it finished start, I started the Desktop software and connected the phone via the USB port.  I received the following message:

This Blackberry device using a connection of the PSG.  Some features of media for your device mass storage mode, which interrupts all active media transfer protocol (MTP) connections.  You want to mass storage mode?

I don't know exactly what that means or if I should answer 'Yes' or 'no '.  (I had a bit of luck you are looking for this particular online message).

The BlackBerry Storm smartphone can connect to a computer in one of the following ways:

    • USB mass storage mode
    • Media Transfer Protocol (MTP)

MTP allows a BlackBerry smartphone user transfer media files between a computer and a BlackBerry smartphone and provides support for multimedia files that have specific requirements, such as restrictions associated with the management of digital rights (DRM) technologies.

A BlackBerry smartphone appears as a Portable device in my computer when connected to the computer using the PSG. It does not appear in the devices with removable storage section and has not assigned a drive letter.

    Hello

If you want to format your card then you can do this from within your device, but first I suggest you make a backup of your card.

To format your media within your BlackBerry, Homscreen card > Options > device > storage > on this screen, press the Menu key > select Format.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones in sleep mode no longer works since the update to v5.0.0.1036 & keyboard lock works differently

    Hi all

Hope you are able to help me with my problem

I updated my Blackberry Curve 8900 over the weekend to

    v5.0.0.1036(Platform 5.2.0.104) provider is Vodafone.de

This update was offered when connecting my device to BlackBerry Desktop Application.

After this update is completed successfully, I discovered the problem the upper top right (usually used for mute) button does not send my camera in standby mode more when you press more than 3 seconds.

This feature worked perfectly before this update. Unfortunately, I didn't know what version I was before, but as I do updates on more than less regular basis, I guess it was available previously.

With this problem, I discovered something that works as different as before.

When I press on the locking of the keyboard (upper left top button) button the lock is now enabled directly and

the screen goes black. Before this update took place the owner details appeared when pressing this button and the display dims after the set time turns off.

The details of the owner are correctly added and appear when you go to properties-owner.

I made a secure deletion (security options - remove security) unit and started from scratch twice already, but the problem remains the same.

Is it possible to get at least the day before running again.

I m using a case-mate case with built in battery I want to reboot my BB when no plug is available. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a magnet which send the device to sleep automatically when plugged in the case, so this manual standby option is important for me to

extend the life of the battery.

    Forward to your response.

    Thanks in advance.

Of course, you can ask that... the most effective thing would be to go through your service provider for their support and to make this request. RIM/BlackBerry will listen to the questions and some of them (I think) much more than a user, that the carrier has more weight and shoot.

I'll add that... This change in characteristics were made from last March, in ALL the operating systems for all devices... and has been included in all since. And then that there was much complaining about this function since then and during that period it have upgraded the OS in all areas, I don't think he'll change - in the next version for sure, or after. There's a reason any, they did this step in this direction.

But the call of your carrier is the best way to make your voice heard, I think.
