  I am new to the Blackberry family, and already I have a small problem. On my main screen it shows a yellow envelope with the #1 in front of it. And when I pass my message Yahoo icon, he says that I have an e-mail message to my Yahoo email account. HE DIDN'T THERE WAS NO MESSAGE. I went on my email account and all messages as read scored and I deleted all of the messages on the phone but the yellow envelope is still there.   Welcome to the forums

  There could be a hidden message somewhere in your e-mail folders. In the message list, press the menu/blackberry and 'display the folder '. Go through the files and one of them may have a hidden message. If this does not work, try a battery Pull:
  1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
  2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
  3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

  This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
  A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

  I have a BOLD 9000 running V4.6.0.162.

  I have a BB Messenger icon not read. I searched through all my emails but did not find any unread item. Someday, unread icon disappeared (I couldn't explain what happened) but the icon reappeared as soon as I removed & re insertted the battery. This has happened twice now.

  Could be just a small problem.

  Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

  If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

  Try these options:
  The main Messages folder and select today's date, click on the menu button and then select Mark prior opened.
  * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
  Messages > saved Messages
  Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
  * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
  Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  * Connect to Desktop Manager > backup/restore > advanced. On the right pane is the list of the data on your device. Scroll to the e-mail highlighted messages database, and then below, select TRANSPARENT. This will clear your system of all messages.
  * Clean and reload your OS.

  Since last week, after I received an e-mail from "event reminder" of a colleague, I can't get the new symbol of message 1 out of my phone.  I went through ALL my records message for days now.  I pulled the battery 5 times.  The symbol stupid yellow message with the number 1 WILL NOT go AWAY!  I don't know what to do.

  Oh and another thing... after that day, when I try to put my phone on "silent" it still vibrates, and when I put it "buzz" it makes sounds!  What is happening with this?  He never used to do!

  To solve the problem of BlackBerry Messenger, follow these steps:

  1. open BlackBerry Messenger.

  2. highlight the contact that has the problem.

  3. press the Menu button, then click on remove the contacts link.

  A corrupt message database, might be something as small as the message did not properly on the device or the message is unreadable on the camera.

  Let me know if that does not solve your problem.

  I downloaded QuickPull v2, tried once and now I can't find my emails, all my pictures have been erased as well as my music. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Looked up a similar problem on the Board and found a solution. I took out battery and put it again. Everything was back to normal once he has adjusted.

  I just got my first blackberry (yesterday) and I'm learning the tricks of the trade, but I had a question... How do I configure my message icon to contain only texts and my email icon to contain my emails? When I opened the message icon it shows everything (text, IM, email, etc) and I just want to show text messages. It's too much for me to scroll through emails and texts and I wish they were separated. Does make sense? Laughing out loud

  Did you mean that your emails and text messages are coming in the same folder? If so then try the following-

  Separate messages-> Options-> General Options-> E-mail and SMS: separate

  If you mean your different built-in emails appearing in mail and separate mail folder then please be informed that this default happenes. BlackBerry smartphone is designed as such if you think this is awkward, can hide Messages folder (press the Alt button-> click-> Menu select hide).

  Age of your device is not relevant. If your usage patterns consume a lot of resources, it's the situation. But I have no way of knowing what your habits are, so I can't guide you.   It is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance.   on my old phone I had two icons, one that allowed me to see all the messages IE emails, facebook, twitter, all in the same place and one that allowed me to view JUST my emails. On my new phone however that all the messages icon is visible in the menu. If I search "emails to abbie", which is what we call the shortcut to just my emails, then it brings to the top of the icon, but it is transparent, I can still click on it and discovered just my emails, but I was wondering if there was a way to put this icon on my menu? would be just my life so much easier

  While on your home screen, press the menu button and see all is an option.  If this is the case, click on it and your icon will be back.
