2 did you recent hardware or software changes to your computer before this problem?

Some options in the start screen and I would always click on start windows normally. Today, I went through the process and came up with the blue screen of death. He said that if this is the first time you see this reboot, so I did. Then the blue screen of death came once again, and he said to go in the system recovery options. Having no idea how to do that I restarted again. Then the recommended option was to go into system recovery thing, so I said to myself Oh well it will fix itself. I went in there and he brought me to the system recovery option screen. It is said to find my operating system in a list and there is no operating system indicating. Then I read and it says if you do not have an operating system, then load the drivers here. I click on that and there is a list of about 50 cases. Inside of some folders are folders more. I can't possible go through all records to find driver software that he wants me to. I also never had a disc of windows vista with the purchase of the computer

Sorry, but it is not easy to say what the problem is here. I use Vista for two months without any blue screens and you really can't wait until someone can give you a clear explanation here.
Blue screen occurs due to different circumstances. May be software related conflict... Check out the software for some compatibility problems

Select repair your computer. After several screens, you will come to choice. Select command prompt. Type bootrec /RebuildBcd. Then type Exit
Select "Startup Repair" and let it run. Reboot the laptop.

I use Windows Vista Home Basic on a Dell Inspiron 1501. I have recently accepted that some guest downloads Windows with terrible results. First downloads do not appear to have been accepted and the system of guard stop and startup trying to cancel. Second as I result, I seem to have lost access to a range of Windows tools. For example in Panel I can't open system icons or Windows Update. Nor can I access these services from any other avenue on the computer. Whenever I have find an icon or a file screen flashes a dialog briefly and then disappears. The effect of this is that I'm completely unable to access or to implement the recommended tools or services that could solve this problem. My ability to manage my computer has been reduced to zero. Dell were not receptive and I can't get a response from Microsoft

Basically, I installed windows 2000 on my machine and I can't find a download for windows vista home basic that doesn't have some kind of crack or keygen. I want a legal copy not a hack. I have the serial number supplied with my computer. where can I find this download or get a drive.

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

- Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
- Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
- To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
- Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Windows Vista Home Basic Edition keeps looping and will not start
Windows Vista Home Basic Edition will not boot to the Welcome screen. It keeps restarting loop. I tried to go into safe mode, but who does not start too. Loops of safe mode and return to the start screen.
I have a dell laptop and I just restalled operating system. I had Windows Update set to automatically download and install. PC worked great until the next day (after the time programmed for automatic updates). I'm assuming that the started after some windows updates when installed. Unfortunately, I can not enter in Windows or Normal or Safe Mode.

If safe mode does not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

I use the version of windows 7 Home Basic and I am aware that it is impossible to create a homegroup, but can join one... I wanted to share files over the local network. What is the way to do it. Do you have Windows 7 Home Basic installed on all the computers connected to the LAN?
Basically, as you rightly mentioned, "Windows 7 Home Basic can join only but cannot create a homegroup." He needs a higher edition of Windows 7 Home Premium, Ultimate or professional to create a homegroup, and then Windows 7 Home Basic Edition can participate. Then, I suggest you try file sharing help Sharing wizard as shown below.
- Open Windows Explorer on your taskbar.
- In the new window, click organize , and then click folder and search options.
- Click the view tab.
- The option use the wizard sharing (recommended)check box.
- Click OK.
Now, follow the steps below to open the shared folder Wizard.
- Press Windows key + R to open the run box.
- Type shrpubw.exe and press ENTER.
- Click Next on the home page.
- You can also name (or rename) your PC. You should probably leave your computer
name as it is, because this change here could cause conflicts with your computer
name as defined by the system. You will need to set up the folder to share
by clicking on the Browse button. - Click Next.
- Name your share, and then click Next (you can also click change to change offline settings).
- Follow the instructions on the screen to configure and customize the permissions and click Finish.
- Click Finish to complete the installation.
You should now have a folder shared, ready to access your other users.

I'm sorry, but Windows 7 Home Basic Edition is no customization or themes. Those who need a more advanced version, like Home Premium.
However, you can change the wallpaper, color scheme and screen saver in Panel > display.
