  If you get the error activate Bluetooth using the wireless switch. There could be chances that the Bluetooth is not enabled in the BIOS, so I suggest you to go BIOS. To do this, I'll contact the manufacturer of your computer or DELL.

  I upgraded to El Capitan Yosemite yesterday. Before the upgrade all the bluetooth was working fine. Now, it is not the case.

  U beat me to the punch. Came from work and started messing around my laptop after the execution of windows 7 and lost my wifi and bluetooth. I was able to stop, press the one key ke recovery, that allows me to reinstall vista 64-bit.   I have a USB device 2.0 DCC which works very well under all of our Windows XP machines, but not based on Vista.  The device uses the usbser.sys driver and emulation of the virtual Comm Port.

  The text of the listing shows the same information on Xp and Vista, except under vista it shows no open pipes.  Shows Device Manager: device can not start (error Code 10).

  Using Vista I can't connect to the vista of CDC through concentrators or device to any other device wireless hub except for a Dlink Wireless hub, which has a layer of software between the CDC device and the PC.  With Xp, it all works very well on more than one PC, with Vista, there are questions.  I use the INF manufacturer provided for Vista, still no results.

  Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

  I understand the utility of Windows troubleshooting, said you there is a problem with the driver for Bluetooth, but you cannot install an updated driver.

  Let's try this,

  Open the Device Manager and uninstall the Bluetooth driver

  now search for the hardware changes, it should install the updated driver for it.

  I have the same device too, i.e. inspiron 15 3521. 8.1 Windows 64-bit.

  The bluetooth stopped working after Windows Update and update the drivers were not useful. It gave the error: activate Bluetooth using the wireless switch.   PROCESS:

  1. check the version of the hardware (1703 or 1704 or 1705) bluetooth on your device. Two ways to check:

  a. press "ctrl + x". "In the menu that is displayed, select Device Manager. Click on "Bluetooth." The is drop-down menu. Bluetooth hardware name now. For example, "Bluetooth of Dell Wireless 1705. "Now you know the bluetooth is ' 1705.

  b. visit the Dell Technical Support Web site. Enter your "Service tag". Select "system configuration". Select "Components" drop-down menu. Search for bluetooth. Note the version of the bluetooth hardware. (Note: press 'ctrl + f' you don't find anything on the Web page.)

  2 visit the support technology guide.

  3. Enter "service tag", or select your laptop model.

  4. go in "drivers and downloads".

  5. Select 'Network' Drop-down.

  6. what you need is "without wireless and bluetooth driver". There are two drivers available for this purpose. Since you know your Bluetooth hardware Version (1703 / 1704 / 1705), select the selection. (Note: those who have a (bluetooth 1704 there are two pilots available, if one does not try another.) To do this, click on "other Versions" dropdown, under the head "Dell Wireless 1704 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver.

  7 download the appropriate driver.

  8. install.

  Thank you for the update on the question and sorry for a delayed response.

  This problem can occur if the drivers already installed for the device are corrupt. To resolve this problem, you will need to completely uninstall the driver/device and then reinstall it.

  Please, try the steps to uninstall the Bluetooth device from Device Manager, uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs, and then download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

  Step 1:

  Uninstall the device from Device Manager

  • Open the Device Manager
  • Expand Bluetooth Radios and other devices .
  • Find the Bluetooth device Driver.
  • Bluetooth device driver right-click and select Uninstall.
  • Select the check box delete the driver for this device.
  • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

  Step 2:

  Uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs in the control panel

  • Click Start, select Control Panel
  • Now, click on programs and select programs and features.
  • Find the Bluetooth device Driver.
  • Right-click Bluetooth device driver , and then select Uninstall.
  • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

  Step 3:

  Download and install the latest drivers for the Bluetooth device on the website of the manufacturer or on the CD that you received from the manufacturer,.
