Bookmark scrambled hierarchies

Somehow, I buried the folder "All bookmarks" under another folder called the same thing. However when I go to record new URL, Firefox will only recognize the buried file. The buried file has three official Firefox, my menu bookmarks toolbar menu, but they are called "(sans titre) '." Below all that I have a copy of all my folders and bookmarks - it is a copy of the records in the buried file.

The problem is that when I go to 'save' a bookmark, Firefox saves to the buried folder since it is the only it recognizes.

I tried to move the folder buried upwards in the hierarchy, but Firefox does not.

What do you suggest to me that I do?

This may be a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

After you download OS El Capitan - scrambled bookmarks (Safari).

How is - a to recreate the order of bookmarks before new OS download?

My bookmarked Favorites came back to a much earlier incarnation after the update to El Capitan. I don't know why! I restored them with a Time Machine backup.

    1. go in ~ / library.  Open Safari, open Bookmarks.plist. Then enter time Machine and choose a date prior to El Capitan. Then restore. Bookmarks must be such as they were.

I used Sync in the browsers chrome based and had to leave because he managed the synchronization in the same way as this. He did the meaning of thought, that it merges. What ultimately happens is all browsers that connects to it will have its settings and bookmarks scrambled.

Please add forced Send and Receive with capacity of replacement as well as total manual operation.

    Hi joelgibson,

Are you talking about the bookmarks bar? Try hitting CTRL + b. -What are you talking about? You can also create a navigation bar icon to allow this side bar if you do not want to use the keyboard shortcut. Take a look at article in the Knowledge Base controls, buttons, and Toolbars Customize Firefox for details.

    Hope this helps!

  • My safari bookmarks get scrambled

My Safari bookmarks got out of order.

The tabs are okay, but within each tab, they are now out of use.

If I try to rearrange manually, I get a message saying:

    "You cannot change bookmarks now.

If I go to iCloud settings and uncheck bookmarks, when I check the box again, it says that if I want to merge with iCloud.

I say Yes and I get my favorites return, but they are still more disordered.

If I delete the library Bookmarks.plist file > folder Safari, I get my favorites right back, but after a few minutes, they become out of use again.

What should I do to keep them in the order I want?

PS: I think it started to happen a few days ago when I shut down my computer, and when I started my computer once again, a series of pop-up ads appeared asking me my iCloud password and other passwords. Which I entered correctly. I have a MacBook Pro with the Mavericks. And the latest version of Safari.

    Thank you.

  • Is there a GOOD reason that rename bookmarks can not be made intuitive?

You know what I mean. Right click on the effing thing and type the name.

It's already enough you converted in an alphabetical order scrambled mess when I imported of IE8 today but now try to clean and sort into folders is made a lot more painful than necessary because Firefox does not have the intuitive naming convention for allowing me to click with the right button on the bookmark to rename it to. Come on. I wouldn't have to search the database, find a thread with a long conversation about what COULD be a solution.

I know there's a reason people choose to use Firefox, but let me guess, this isn't one of them. Just make people of work.

You can right click on a bookmark in the sidebar (Ctrl + B) or on the personal bar, or in a menu bookmarks to open the context menu. You will find this item of menu contextual properties.

  • Can you do the sticky Bookmark button entries?

My Favorites are hierarchical - files in folders. I often work with several bookmarks in the same subfolder. But whenever I want to choose a different bookmark (by clicking on the bookmark button), I have to drill again down to the subfolder. It would be very useful if the list of bookmarks will open showing where I was last time.

I don't want to display the side bar or the toolbar to do because they feed on screen space.

Take a look at this module.

  • You can create a table of contents with page numbers using bookmarks?

You can create a table of contents with page numbers using bookmarks?

Sometimes a long article has bookmarks to help navigate, it but has no real TOC (table of contents) on the first page. In such a situation, I think that it would facilitate the reading of the paper version if you can somehow create a table of contents with page based on hierarchical bookmarks in the document numbers.

If this is not possible from Acrobat, is there a third party app?

Indeed you have created a script for this - sorry that I missed it. I should have...

  • I can't go to my bookmarks after update for Sierra

I have a MacBook Pro. I just updated this week to Sierra with no problems, but now when I click on multiple points in the upper left corner to reveal my favorites and my playlist only, it displays the top sites page and does not open my favorites and reading list, as it used to.

Can someone tell me how to access my bookmarks and playlist in the Sierra? I'm sure it's something in the settings or something escapes me. My Bookmark Bar is the top of the page, yet. I can't find my bookmarks and reading list.

    Thank you

I thought about it, I had to go to Favorites on top and tell Safari to display in the Sidebar again.

    Unfortunately, no.

    Hi biomaurone,

I understand that after the update to your MacBook Pro, you are unable to find your bookmarks. I know it's important to have access to your data, so I'm happy to help you.

If you use iCloud to synchronize your bookmarks, then make sure that they are always enabled with the procedure described in this article:

  • His MacMini 4.1 scrambled after upgrade to Sierra

I have a MacMini 4.2 (mid-2010). He ran ElCapitan and I never had any problems with it. I installed macOS today Sierra and now all sound is garbled. I checked and tried everything in system preferences and configuring Audio and MIDI, same reset NVRAM, LANDAU and SMC, but no change. This system worked perfectly before the upgrade, someone has an idea of what else I could try to get my sound back to normal output? Since I use this MacMini as a media server for music and movies, I am extremely frustrated by the sound issue because it makes the Mac unusable

What do you mean by scrambled?

You use a special exit software? MIDI?

This sound output do you use? USB? Headphone Jack?

    Try a different output.

  • Change the color of bookmarks

Hello.  My Safari bookmarks change from dark to light and light to the darkness when I hover over them.  Is there a way to disable this?  I can see where this might be a useful feature, but it's that I'm not interested.  Thank you.

There are several places where the bookmarks are accessible. Where are you looking at bookmarks when this behavior occurs? You have installed Safari extensions that could be the cause?

  • Where is the Menu bookmarks?

In Safari 10 I can only add bookmarks to the 'Favourites' section or to bookmark files, I created myself. I can't add to the bookmarks Menu more because apparently disappeared? Is this a bug? Now I can not add my favorites for the 'root' of the bookmark list more. My bookmarks section contains a list of folders of bookmarks and a few bookmarks in the upper slot that I did not put in such a folder. I used to select the Menu bookmark to add those and decided later if I want to move to a folder of bookmarks. But this Menu bookmarks option has now disappeared. It is not anywhere between my either custom files. So where is he past?

Open the Bookmarks Sidebar, then click on the URL, and then drag it to the bookmarks.
