BOOTMGR missing Satellite C660

Hi people,

I have the Satellite C660
Initially, I had a virus and tried to reinstall windows, but not good.
When it came to the point of saying there was not enough space on the windows installation disc,
I realized that I had forgotten the bit score.

Now when I try to start it again, it's a black screen that says... BOOTMGR... Manager of... is absent.
When I try to start again, I get the same point on not enough space on the disk
so im going round in circles and not getting any case,

I think to make a new hard drive, but no one knows how to fix this before I have to buy a new drive... has soon

Missing Boot Manager is an error message that is displayed if the laptop can not find and start the common system.
Therefore, find the reason why the system cannot be found.
I think that its HARD drive problem. The system partition or HARD drive is probably faulty.

In my opinion, you should access the BIOS and check if the HARD drive is listed on the first page of the BIOS.
In case it does not appear in the first page of the BIOS, the HDD isn't recognized and, therefore, I think that it must replace it before you try to reinstall the system.

    Hello

I bought the system (disk R15379SO) on the support of Toshiba Recovery disk to refresh my 1R3 Satellite C660. Unfortunately, my computer still blocked with this message: BOOTMGR missing.

It is the first time that I try to reinstall factory on this computer from 2011 and it is impossible.

If you have any tips on this message and the actual sense, thank you.

    Hello

In my opinion, this message if poster because the laptop does not boot from optical disc, but tried to boot from the HARD drive.
Are you sure that you booted from the CD/DVD drive?

In case you are sure that the laptop started from the disk recovery inserted, then in my opinion the new ordered 100% the drive is faulty. You must contact the provider and replace the drive

  • Satellite C660 - 10 d - Bootmgr is missing

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 - 10 d for my birthday in August and was a little disappointed to find that it did not include the Windows 7 disc - instead, I found a "Recovery" partition to use if there is a problem. Another disappointment was to find the 500 GB hard drive, I thought I was getting was actually about 360 GB - him remains apparently partitioned for "recovery."

After a few months use, I decided to check the recovery option and found it was inaccessible (press F8 at startup just didn't work). Scouting around the ' net has found another option (I think it was something like ESC at boot 0 upwards), but that no longer works.

I should have taken this "thing" back at the shop at the time, but it was a mile 10 return and an injury prevented me from driving. In any case, I decided to make my own backup with Acronis (which has been a life saver on my desktop PC).

Main installation takes 3 DvDs and the "Recovery" partition went on another DvD. In hindsight, I should have backed up to a spare USB hard drive - it would have been faster.

In any case, law of Sod, a few months later and I had to do a reinstall from the Acronis backup and, while everything seemed to install OK, now I just get the dreaded message BOOTMGR IS MISSING. Scanning of the hard drive shows that the installation of Windows is there, but it does not start.

Scouting around the ' net came only upward with suggestions that involved using the installation disk that I had not been given. I don't understand the logic of backup 20 p for a DvD disc, containing a 140Gb (HSI) of a hard disk instead.

I tried various other suggestions to fix the MBR (including the FDISK. EXE/MBR) but nothing works. I even borrowed Win7 and Vista set install disks to friends, look for the file "bootrec.exe" illusory the claim of Microsoft would solve the problem, but it does not appear to be. I've skimmed through various assignments here, but nothing seems to fit my situation.

Any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

    Thank you
    Harry

P.S. at the suggestion of a friend I just installed Ubuntu Linux and that works OK! Why is it working OK and not my backup Windows?

    > I bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 - 10 d for my birthday in August and was a little disappointed to find that it did not include the Windows 7 disc - instead, I found a "Recovery" partition to use if there is a problem

The user manual provides information that you can create own recovery disk using the preinstalled software called Toshiba recover Media Creator. So apart from HARD drive recovery, then recovery disc could be used too.

If its always recommended to create a pick it up Toshiba drive in case something bad would happen to the recovery of HARD drive or the HARD drive itself

Bootmgr is missing could be solved by the new facility.
Wither away if you use a floppy from Win 7 Microsoft and would install the drivers that can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba or you will here order the recovery disk:

I know it s not expensive: about 30

It all started this afternoon when I noticed that my C drive was dangerously close full (like5gb spare part) while my D drive had 223 gb to spare, what I wanted instead of delete my D drive was to shrink down in size and then add the memory freed from my C drive (Ah if only things were that simple). What I found, was that I could use the system management tool to shrink the drive D, BUT I couldn't can simply transfer this memory via on drive C, then I returned to the D drive and thought that no more of it. Hi guy,

First of all, I have a good message for you: this is not a very serious matter and could be solved easily.
I guess you cannot start the advanced boot menu by pressing F8. Fix?
If this is not possible you need a Live example Windows PE or BartPE bootable CD
    http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

Start the laptop using the Live CD will allow you to use the command prompt where you can run some commands to rebuild the Master Boot Record.
Using the prompt (like a black of BACK box) shows you should type this command:
    Bootrec /RebuildBcdand then press ENTER.

Usually this should rebuild the master boot record of the hard drive and the laptop should start again the internal partition of C.

  • Satellite C660 - missing utility, BIOS not in default

Bought a Satellite C660-22v on ebay that seems to work fine, except that none of the Tosh utilities are present.

I was going to reload the operating system and downloaded the manual that say I have set the default BIOS. The former owner put the password on it and told me that it is. Is that what I want to know, can I do the restore of the system without resetting the BIOS, or how to get the utilities of Tosh?

To be honest I don t understand what do you mean with these missing utilities. Is this laptop comes with preinstalled original Win7 home premium. If you have the recovery disc reinstall OS and start using the laptop with the settings that includes all Toshiba tools and utilities. If you want to install some of them more you can download them from http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

In General, you can do the system restore without changing the BIOS settings, but now when you want to use the laptop the other person I think the best is to remove the BIOS password, BIOS value by default, reinstall OS and start using the laptop with the factory settings. Later, you can configure for laptop and change the settings.

  • Satellite L300D crashed - now BOOTMGR MISSING

    Hello

I have a Satellite L300D crashed on me the other day, now, when I boot the message I get is "BOOTMGR MISSING".

    Anyone has any ideas.
I tried again to load XP but it does not load

    See you soon,.

    Hello

The MISSING BOOTMGR error message means that the Boot Manager cannot be found and that's why the windows cannot be started again

How have you tried to load Win XP?
Have you tried to boot from the CD of Win or have you tried to boot Win XP preinstalled?

Generally, the installation of Win XP CD should fix you.
But you can also try start the console BACK (you need to start the CD of Win XP then should R for repair)
On the BACK, you can try the command: * fixboot *.

  • Satellite C660-10 d - missing Fn + F8 wireless switch

    Hi people,

I hope someone may be able to help...

    I have a Satellite C660-10 d (p/n: PSC0LE-00j00JEN)...

I just reinstalled Windows 7 (Ultimate x 64 of my own DVDs). I have all embedded applications and drivers going apart from the Fn + F8 Wifi on / switching.

The flash cards app shows along the top of the screen when I press the Fn, but there is no F8 wireless Panel and pressing Fn + F8 does nothing.

The Wifi driver is installed, and the WiFi currently on and functional, but may not be disabled.

    I've got these installed:
    Value Pack-20101130111348
    Card Flash Utility-20110519151724 support

Two of these two wifi drivers cause the same behavior:
    WiFi RTL8192ce_WindowsDriver 1005.31.1222.2011.F0066. P0830 ISS 1.00.0180.L
    WIN8 20121203105641
(this is the Realtek RTL811CE, according to Device Manager)

I have a Norton Ghost image even flavor of windows in which the Fn + F8 combination works very well, so I think I can be good for all hardware course (it's slow old installation, I am trying to replace).

I tried every variation of every driver or app that I can find, but the results are either WiFi seems to be installed OK but cannot be turned on at all or look at and connects OK but cannot be switched on/off.

Does anyone know the trick to get the Wifi Fn + F8 / stop function time showing and working with a fresh Windows installation please?

  • Satellite C660 - Missing WiFi after the fresh install of Win 7

    Hey dear community,

    Ive had the following problem.

I got Windows 8 on my laptop a few days then noticed that it's the biggest disappointment of the Millennium, and I did not have my original CD Windows 7 more so I downloaded the ISO of [here | http://www.chip.de/downloads/Windows-7-Home-Premium-64-Bit_46355794.html] and formatted with ISO.

Then I realized that theres no card on the laptop more.

Then all Lan and wireless Lan indicator found on the Toshiba page for my laptop has me only the connection to the local network.

Conclusion: The LAN connection that I have now collapsed.
A Wi - Fi connection is not displayed with the adapters in Device Manager.
In Device Manager there is a network controller (if this is right), but the laptop can not find a driver in the driver update and it is not active.

I hope you can help me, I'll be back without problems via WiFi to Internet.

Even after inserting disc 2 it always asks insert the next disc... I had no choice and I cancelled it.

When I started again, it says bootmgr missing
"CTRL + ALT + DELETE" to restart

I've blocked up do not know what to do.

    pls tell me SME suggestions

    Hello

The bootmgr missing error appears because the recovery procedure hasn t done and the former a bootmgr was destroyed.

It seems that your second DVD is not readable without apparent reason.

Maybe you could try to recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive option.
Maybe the partition was not damaged during the procedure of recovery DVD.

Then, press F8 after that laptop has been powered. Choose the first option called fix my computer. Choose the last option Toshiba Recovery and try to recover the laptop HARD drive.
If it doesn t work then you could boot from the original Vista DVD and could try to repair the boot manager.

In the worst cases, you need to reinstall the OS from Microsoft's Vista DVD or you order a new Recovery DVD from Toshiba.

    Good luck

  • Missing BIOS settings Satellite C660

    Hey everybody,

I use my Satellite C660 Notebook for some productions of music and I try to get my extern Interface Audio Presonus working. Everything is fine so far except some occasional crackling sounds in the audio interface. After correction of some things in Windows 7 which have been recommended by tech support PreSonus these noises were still there.
Tech support then gave me the following advice:

+ "There is some power options that can be changed in your BIOS that can be the cause of the noise you are experiencing. +

+ CPU settings section - Intel SpeedStep is set to normal. +
+ CPU - Turbo in normal not turbo mode settings section. +
+ Settings section CPU (if any) - CPU operation Mode will be 3 settings, Normal, fast, Extreme (?). Set it to 'Normal ' +.

    + Power Settings:-C1E Support +.
+ Power Settings:-C3E Support (if it is there).

+ Save the BIOS and reboot. +

+ Generally overclocking the processor as the iSeries can cause the CPU power to fluctuate causing problems with noise on audio devices, is a new discovery and we write a FAQ which will be available on our knowledge base may have a detailed description on the reasons why this happens on overclocking CPU. +

"+ Make sure that the overclocking settings have been set to normal. +

    * For the first time I entered the BIOS to see that neither of these settings can be made on this Toshiba Satellite c660.*

Or can they be somehow still made? Are there tools, programs,...?

I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you.

    MikeL

    Hello

If the parameters are not available in the BIOS, you will not be able to change or appear in the BIOS.

Phoenix BIOS would be used by different manufacturers, but the BIOS is always modified by manufacturer and configured for each series of laptop.
This is why the special parameters are not always available in every BIOS.

I read in the forum of presonus on crackling using processors dual core.
A guy could solve this by using a different USB port.

Then maybe you should test all available USB ports.

Another option might be the use external USB hub connected outside power source now quite sure if it would help to get rid of these noises but its worth a test.

Last but not least you could test this with adapter connected and disconnected
