Bridge metadata pop-up thumbnails

I'm on the latest version of the CC bridge with Photoshop CC, Apple Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite v10.10.3. When you browse thumbnails in the bridge, if you place the cursor over a thumbnail metadata is displayed on the image in a pop-up window.  I find these really distracting - is there a way to disable this feature?  Thank you.  Mark Weidman

I figured out how to disable the metadata - in the preferences window, thumbnails, deselect the option 'Show ToolTips '.  Mark Weidman

  • [CS3 JS] How to force the update of XMP metadata for a thumbnail?

    Hi people,

In a JavaScript in Bridge CS3, I update a value in the XMP metadata for a thumbnail. Later in the script I want to read the updated metadata XMP of miniature, but often the bridge didn't updated metadata at the time wherever I read it. In other words, my script reads the value before the update. I guess there is a problem of ongoing caching.

I'm new to the bridge of script, and I hope someone here can offer suggestions on how I can (or even * if * I can) force the bridge to update the cache of the XMP metadata to a file so that when I read it later in the script reflect the recent changes. I tried to use Thumbnail.refresh (), but this does not seem to do the trick. I don't mind a slow script, I just want to be able to read the correct value.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Where is the line?

    Thumb.Metadata = new Metadata (updatedPacket);

    Try

    app.synchronousMode = true;

    Thumb.Metadata = new Metadata (updatedPacket);

    approx. synchronousMode = false;

Metadata default bridge updates arrive in the background and not on the main thread, but using the mode synchronous here your script only continues to the next line, until the operation is complete.

The file of camera raw.8bi must be only in one place:

    Program Files Adobe Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats

and, before you put that there, all previous versions must be removed.

And purge the Cache of bridge.

  • Request for each thumbnail EXR bridge if transparency should be used as transparent or alpha! WTF?

Since the last update, the bridge behaves like photoshop with OpenExr files: he asks if the alpha should be used as transparency or alpha.

And this for EACH file in a folder in the Bridge creates thumbnails. You just ruined my workflow with EXRs. Completelly. Imagine a folder with hundreds of animation EXR images. Bridge wants to create thumbnails and wonder hundrets of times how? What did you even think to this? Have you even thought about everything? Why oh why?

    Hi Otto.

We published a new version of Adobe Bridge (CC 2017) on 2 November 2016. The new version of version number is 7.0.0.93. This version is available for installation via the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

Please try the new version and look for problems you encounter.

You may need to update the creative cloud app and restart your computer to see the update patch.

  • Bridge CS6 do not generate correct thumbnails of RAW files

I am running Bridge CS6 (the latest version, 5.0.2.4) on a MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.1) 2013 and suddenly from now bridge is longer update thumbnails for my RAW files. All other images and video file formats have generated thumbnails, but not my raw files Nikon NEF including those I worked on ACR. I tried to purge all of the cache, restart of bridge and even restart my computer and always raw thumbnails are not generated.

Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

    Eric

In fact I just noticed that thumbnails for JPEGs will not be generated. A thumbnail is generated that if I'm working on a file in Photoshop and then save it.

Make sure that you put free space of the disk cache.  You should have at least 15%.  For a ride from 700 free g 100 g.

Have reset you the preferences?  Hold down the option key and launch bridge.  You will get a window to reset.

  • How to Bridge and Lightroom to respect - read - metadata changes?

I have my images of marriage in bridge (6 CS) of the reform and then export them into LR 4.  I usually rate the images I started to reform, but when I import these images in LR, the sides are not.  Similarly, when I tag the images in LR and export, bridge shows all white color labels - no matter what the label was actually awarded.

LR saves all changes and other changes to metadata in its database (= catalog).

In addition to the catalog, you can , namely a xmp (in the case of a Raw photo) file, or in the header (but not in the pixels of the image!) of a JPG, TIFF or PSD.

    Backup to the folder is

_ either check the box > Edit > catalog settings > metadata tab, or manually

_ by going > metadata > save metadata to file (in the Lr library Module), or

_ by going > Photo > save metadata to file (in the develop Module.

When you manually save the file, you can select several photos in the grid view and .

This saving to the file is necessary so that bridge can read and display changes to Lr, because the bridge is unable to read the Lr catalog.

Bridge of saved file automatically (there no option of deselection of her) and Lr will read the bridge metadata when you import the image in Lr.

In the case of an image that is already in Lr, you must select > metadata > read metadata from file (in Lr library Module), or

going > Photo > read metadata from file (in the develop Module). Without this , Lr displays all changes made to the bridge after importation in Lr. Since this would replace all the different changes that you made in Lr, it is best to do this before you more editing in Lr.

The rating stars would transfer of bridge to Lr and vice versa without problems.

For color labels to properly transfer you must make textual descriptions for individual colors identical to Lr and bridge - to upper/lower case, commas, and hyphens, underscores, traits, etc..

    That being said:

I would recommend that you use no bridge for the slaughter of your images. You can make easy logging to Lr. When you manage photos in Bridge and in Lr, you will always have the problem of synchronization of metadata. This can be done, but it needs a flow of meticulous work that is strictly adhered to.

There is nothing in the deck than Lr only *). Simplify your life, choose Lr as your only management and image editing tool, with the exception of CS6 itself (I want to say Photoshop itself, not the ACR).

*) Well there is one thing: since Lr is not a program based on a browser, it does not automatically "see" what's on a hard drive. Photos must be imported so that Lr will 'see' them.

Bridge is browser-based. Which photo is saved on a hard drive - regardless of what program to put there - it will be "seen" by bridge.

Bridge is a valuable tool if a photo is not displayed in Lr and want to check if it is in a particular folder.

Is it possible to get detailed information of the White Balance setting in the bridge metadata?  I get only "custom"; My instructor at the College needs more detail in my contacts boards.

    Thanks for any imput

You can't get this info in a Board-contact, nor is it easy to get other then look at the setting of the device you used to shoot files. Maybe it's somewhere hidden deep in the exif data, but I can't find it with the exact number.

Shooting Raw these WB figures do not apply because you can adjust the color temperature and tint to what you want. Taken jpeg, your options are limited due to the fact that the raw data is already processed and the evolution of the effects of temperature and color of the entire image.

Try to shoot a Raw and jpeg together from the same scene. The one with the light of day and the other with artificial light conditions. (personally, I put my WB set closed at 5,500 but with the auto settings, you can also see the difference) Try to fix the jpeg and Raw file in ACR and see what I mean.

And to be honest, if your instructor at the College would like to have what he should tell you also why he wants to and how you can put it back...

  • Add metadata with bridge actually stores information about the file?

Just spent all night adding information using the metadata Panel in the bridge.

Then I got this bad thought. Bridge actually saves the new information in the file itself?

Or all of these cases of metadata is just one thing to bridge?

Some metadata is stored in the image, the other metadata (especially raw edits) are recorded

In addition, all the information added in the bridge metadata are stored in the

  • Display thumbnails of "spreads" instead of Pages of InDesign Documents

    Hello

I am looking to have produced miniatures

Thumbnails embedded in the Indesign documents are integrated in the form of individual pages, the amount of included pages can be set on a document level.

Someone asked on the forum script ID if it would be possible to view thumbnails bridge "spreads" instead of pages.

To this one might have IDS to include thumbnails of the spreads, BUT it would be really very difficult and involves a difficult plugin c ++ that would take a lot of time because the api does not include the necessary methods.

The other option would be bridge script to display thumbnails of page integrated side by side instead of one at a time.

A problem is that the bridge would detect if thumbnails are coming from the same thread.  Perhaps, which could be achieved by incorporating some metadata in the document of identity.

I rigged this screenshot with fireworks by mistake I did on a pdf instead of an ID of a doc, but the idea is the same.

    Screen Shot 2015-08-03 at 00.45.png

Did someone knows if it is doable?

    Thank you

I doubt it very much. But if you can extract the pages as jpg you should be able to stack them.

  • Bridge CS5 does not display updates made in Camera Raw

    Hello

For the past year or so I had this problem. I contacted Adobe and said it is their support system. I said a technician Adobe will read this and fix the problem.

When I apply changes to raw images in Camera Raw (xmp metadata change), these changes are not reflected in Bridge. I would like to know how to remedy this situation.

For example: I have download 10 raw images, put them in Camera Raw, brighten their out of yellow. In Bridge, I still see camera before the Raw images, looking as they did straight out of camera. This can make it difficult to change if, for example, the images are too dark.

Please let me know how to fix this thanks.

Maybe your options of bridge for the production quality control and thumbnail preview.  You have this set of high quality forever?  If all prefer Embedded, bridge will display the thumbnail of the camera and does not see the Camera Raw updates; If the value high quality On Demand, Bridge uses embedded thumbnails until you get a preview of each image.

  • Window of persistent column metadata

When you use the narrow column or unchecking the column heading (after a right click on a column in the metadata header) I found that when I, for example, crosses of the film, and then return to the metadata of the column has reappeared; is there a way to make the bridge do not forget to the decision of the user that I put in place after that I have navigate away from and then back to the metadata area?

with the inclusion of the right click option close

Columns (see list) is the designed bridge so that they remain closed when that

the option retained, or is the software written so they reappear when

    Navigate to this workspace?

First I find (from the first time, it appeared some time ago) the

Metadata workspace next to useless for my workflow (the column Description

is not able to be added, or or the rest of the info except those that are

in the list), so I never use. Like you, I expected to be able to customize

and the safeguard of this space but I'm sorry to say that I also discovered that

    It is not possible.

Fence columns and save the new set as a custom workspace in fact

not what she should do, reappear the columns the earlier closed - in my very

surprise - on the right side.

So let me rephrase the earlier statement that this workspace is useless for

my workflow, it seems totally useless

So let's say you're in bridge - Metadata workspace (cmd f5) using the list view

Cmd + F5 is only the fifth workspace in the line, if you like me created

has custom and driven to the left in the row of work areas that

orders corresponds with the 5th online but I do not understand what you mean

and once again, as you always surprised by this unexpected behavior.

say the light Table (either said by the way it refuses to remember the size of the icons I)

have defined and keeps returning to a tiny thumbnail by default).

Here is a difference, I can resize and next time, it's always the same size

as with set. However making more large previews needs more time to cache

before it is accepted as correct inches, maybe it's your solution, wait a

little more time until the disk will not wildly more and your computer

fan went to rest after having worked hard to bridge...

It is also strange that the use of the icons in the light Table workspace you

Also get metadata workspace and the other icon gives you the metadata more

(including description). It seems to me that someone has begun to create the

workspaces by default for 1 bridge and after that, no one had time to watch

home again. Hope that Bridge CS6 version will be a huge improvement for

adjustable work spaces, for Bridge CS5 they spent all their time on

speed and stability (with a very good result, BTW) and maybe they can

focus more on fine tuning for the next cycle...

"not what you do, not what the software is designed to do."

I'm afraid that with this summary hit you the nail on the head...

In the meantime, you can use the odd workaround to rearrange the order by dragging

the tabs, you use less toward the end and it will stay until you recover

    the default workspace.

And you should also know that almost all of the tabs in the metadata Panel are also in the

Panel filter. Click on a number to provide or criteria in the filter Panel watch

all files meeting these criteria in the content panel

I have to admit that I'm perplexed at this behavior, it seems ridiculous

the two options are available, but once, or the other is chosen both are ignored

one is a special discount to this workspace.

Therefore, you might want to add a feature request for this (see the link on this)

Forum main page for this). Although the bridge QE visit regularly this page they

of course take a look at the section request feature

You are not the first to this wish, but most people ask

It is, the more chance it will be done!

I have a long-standing desire for more work area clean with creative ability

at least one additional column (now the max 3) and also be able to divide

a two column panel above shows always the entire column.

I'm trying to remove some XMP data from a WAV file in the Waveform Editor, and the documentation says to use the Menu 'Options' on the metadata Panel:

Adobe Audition help. Display and editing of XMP metadata

However, my metadata Panel (hearing CC 2015) is not a Menu of Options, just the menu Burger in three bars, which allows you to close the Panel, dock/undock, etc (see attachment).  Obsolete documentation or something else?

    Audition - Metadata Panel.png

    > I don't think that the explanation of the hearing help file is incorrect.

Well, I'm not agree at some level:

    1. The docs say "in the metadata Panel, change the text or adjust the values according to your needs.»  This isn't really the case.  I can't edit a lot / most of the fields (ex: "Content analysis" menu group only allow you to select or edit or clear all values).
    2. The icons used in the docs are outdated, as the specified icon to the such Option Menu exists.  This one, for example:

    > Otherwise you will have to use something like Adobe Bridge metadata or a third party editor to permanently remove metadata AFAIAA properties.

Yes, it's a bit what I thought.  Thanks for responding.
