• How to hide the Submit button in the TEB?

  Using Cap 9, with the last update.

  I added a 'text area' group to a slide. After validation of the entry, I would like to hide the whole group. I call it a group because you get the field and the Send button.

  I can't hide the field because I can give it a name and then refer to it in my Advanced actions. But I can't see the button submit as well, so I can't hide it.

  Did I miss something? Is there a work around known for allowing me to hide the Send button and the text input field?

  No, it's an object built in, which means that you can not solve, because there is no correct ID. In addition, you can add States either. I tried that as well. Embedded objects are very limited.

  I have however a workaround. It depends a bit on the used theme, but the Send button is often a text button. This is my workflow

  1. Because you cannot change the style of a button text, I replaced it with a transparent button.
  2. I did this totally invisible to the user transparent button: fill opacity = 0%, line width = 0 and remove the button caption (label).
  3. I created a text caption or a shape with 'Submit' and dragged under the TEB in the timeline panel. It is not necessary for the output SWF, but it's for HTML output. This text container has an ID and will be visible because the TEB button is completely transparent.
  4. When the user clicks on the button submit, I trigger a successful action that will be:
     1. Hide the text container (Submit)
     2. Mask of the ETB

  If you do this several times in a project, you can create a shared action.

  I would like to have a button captioned that a user can select or not, so I could go get his State selected on form data collection.

  In InDesign I just use a standard form checkbox control and change the graphics for the selected and unselected state.

  I can't find a good method in LiveCycle do similar. The best I came up with that is to have a box hidden beside a field of button and have the box store the State of the button.

  I don't think, a button does not have a selected state that you can link to a value in the data collection.  The hidden field is what I would use.

• Change the fill color of button in Captivate 7?

  I'm sure that when I used 6 Captivate and I created a button, there is an option in the properties pane to allow me to change the fill color of the button. I use 7 Captivate now, and I don't see this option. Under the 'Général' tab, it allows me to change the type of button, caption, make transparent, or allows me to see the button widgets. They remove the possibility of simply changing the fill color of a button?

  I notice that with the edition of FMR, you cannot insert buttons, and others. But is it possible to have interactions with FMR, even a next or pause button...? (apart from a palybar)

  Update,

  There is actually a way of interactivity achieiving with video on slides and it is the CP5 was 'Insert slide Video' in CP6 is just the menu video, insert video with this option, you can place buttons, captions and almost all other objects on the same Blade (or spread 1 video on mulitple slides)... Thanks to those who made me look differently and dig more) :-)

  Pretty much anything you want using any type of interactions :-)

• "cpCmndCC" closed captions don't look right (Cp5)

  My Ministry is dealing with several ADA 508 issues at the moment. A problem is that the way subtitles show when reversing on 'cpCmndCC '. The colors, the fonts are correct, but it is reduced by over 50% and left-aligned. If I disable then re-enable CCs using the "CC" button captions appear correct. This occurs in an IE8 and preview of the Cp5 project. What can I do to appear correctly?

  In my view, that it is a quirk which occurs if you choose to enable the CC automatically from the beginning. If the memories are good, you need a little more time before you run the command to display the CC. Perhaps insert a small and very brief slide as the first slide. Trigger the variable a bit more far and things should be good.

• Closed captioning line break

  Is it possible to add newlines to captioning in Captivate? I was copy and paste my text from Word and adding line breaks there. But sometimes you just need a straight jump track and do not want to use the word.

  Yes.  Open the properties of the slide to the slide containing the CC that you want to change, and then click the Audio tab.  Now, click on the button captions and a new dialog box will open containing your text CC.  This is where you can control the timing of your subtitles as well.

• How to stop FF to show police hurt in some Web sites?

  Hello. I had this problem for some time and I finally decided to try to do something...

  What happens is, the police text / on some sites I visit is really hard to read, and given that the same pages look good in Solution Explorer, it seems that FF is somehow entering and using the wrong font.

  I use FF17 on Win XP SP3, but I've been seeing this problem on previous versions of FF as well.

  If ff is closely spaced so that means usually a font that supports ligatures is used.

• No subtitles NETFLIX with BDPBX18

  Recently, I buy a Sony BDPBX18 and activated my NetFlix account. I also have Netflix on my Wii, but I can't get the subtitles on NetFlix, when using my layer of Blue Ray. I can with my Wii or computer. On the remote control, the button captions has no effect and there is no screen option that I can find. That is what it is?

  Unfortunately watching a Netflix will come not with subtitles on the BDP-BX18. Netflix has control over what devices will be able to display their titles with subtitles.

• Removing plot a chart legend?

  HI - another beginner question:

  Following the tutorial, I created a graph. The graph has a small box to the right to go a legend for the different plots. (I would like to put a picture, but looks like that I do not have permission to do so).

  The purpose of the chart is to trace thousands of points on a Cartesian plane. I got this job (sort of) with the PlotPoint() function. When I run the program, however, many quickly organized points exceeds the capacity of this legend (and won the start programme).

  So: can I get rid of this legend somehow? On a side note, I am inefficient with this approach? Would it not be better to collect the points table and use PlotXY instead?

  Regarding the choice of the route of functions: I would not draw 1000 individual data points, but use it rather PlotXY. Alternatively you can consider using a graph of the band instead of a graph, which allows you to add a data point after another

  I'm trying to put in place a form of PDF document for a customer using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.  I have several fields of the date where I am wanting to use the router form Date Picker Widget (that has been downloaded and installed).  It works perfectly fine when it is just a page.  However, I use a model with a script that creates a copy of the first page activated by a button - ideally to allow users to create many pages however they want before any shipment.  The key code is as follows:

  The problem starts when a new page is added.  If I try to click on the datePicker on the second page, it appears on the first page next to the very field that was copied.  And if a date is enabled it is entered in the field on the first page.

  Looking at what goes wrong, I found several things.  First, the aspect of naming in the copied page creates all objects in calendar with the prefix 'P1.cvcIntake.fld' ('fld' is the prefix of the fields on form on the first page).  Second, go to the properties of the date picker control object, its name was changed to 'P1.cvcIntake.FR_00000_CALENDARBUTTON_fld. Start_date"and this code of the action is:

  FormRouter_PlaceCalendar (getField ("FLD. (Start_date"), 3, 'yyyy-mm-dd", 18.61102294921875);

  Obviously the name and the action code will get him to do what he does now.  Unfortunately I do not know what to try to fix things, that my ability to write code to Acrobat is probably just a bit better than the beginners.  It seems to me that I need to use a completely different approach for this part.  Does anyone have advice on how I might be able to handle this problem?

  It took a while for me to solve this problem, but there are even more time to post here (my apologies to all those who are looking for a solution for it before now).  Anyway, the real thing for me has been to discover that I didn't have to explicitly numbering ratings after adding new fields (such as ' # ' + this.pageNum)-it turns out that the numbering of appropriate rating is handled automatically.

  While I don't know the real pros out there might be able to find lots of ways to handle some aspects better, here's the result of a great many hours of research, trial and error, and persistence.  Given the help that I received from this forum, I would be very happy if I could make a contribution that helps anyone with this problem.  If so, I'd be happy to hear from you!  In any case, if anyone has any comments or questions please let me know.

• Need help for the button to trigger on the text caption effect

  I'm very new to Captivate (only my second week), but am familiar in other Adobe programs. I'm trying to get a dynamic object that I made in a button to trigger an effect on a text caption. I scrolled the forums here and tried various things of the advanced actions for just using the drop down menus in the property inspector and nothing that I tried gives me the result I want.

  Here is a screenshot of what I'm working with.

  

  What I want to do is for the arrows for the buttons (and they are currently). When the slide appears first I don't want that image and the arrows visible. So when the user clicks on the arrow, I want the effect I chose (spiral) that will be triggered with the corresponding text.

  Looks like my property for each caption Inspector (the names are different for each)

  

  And I also tried to write a few advanced Actions that follow as well as tutorials that I found online, and nothing gives me what I want.

  When I preview the slide I can see everything on entry and then when I click the button to apply the effect. I rechecked the advanced actions and usually when I try these nothing happens at all.

  Is - it there anyway that I can get that works this way, I'm wanting. It seems that it should be simple and I'm right on it.

  The shape of buttons are all pause at this moment, it's OK.

  I just tried it out and see what you mean. The text is there from the beginning, and that shouldn't be the case. you expect it not to appear when the button is clicked. I have never used this spiral effect myself, but since you have no control over it, I mean you can't see where starts the effect at all, there is no visible path you have with the other effects of the entry. Either, you need to create a custom, effect whose path begins with text outside the scene, or a combination of an Alpha to + a standard entrance effect.

  Tried the first one with a simple left to a straight path. I edited the paths so that they all start at the same position horizontal and end at the same horizontal position. So happy with the leaders and Guides that we finally got in Captivate, they are very useful for this type of design:

  No, you need a programmer. Make custom buttons (using the buttons on the form, which can be placed on the slides or model of time during the rest of the project) is no longer so difficult.   I created my own buttons for play, stop, etc the output. But I don't know how to create a button to display closed captioning.  I tried a few hours but I give up. What should I do? :
