by using software of Tivo desktop 2.7 in Windows Vista Home Premium

Lately, I've been with Tivo desktop 2.7 compatibility problems and Gallop of windows media. After you have installed the office 2.7 which is the latest version of the Tivo software, I find that I can't look at my media center tv. I found that an AX codec is not compatible with media center. The codec is a codec of Tivo. I don't have the chance to write the name of the codec. Anyone out there has any adice or suggestions on how to handle this? jim0

Hello

This looks like a common problem with Tivo desktop 2.7 and Media center.

If you have Windows Vista Ultimate or home premium versions, or if you use TiVo Desktop Plus, it is possible that either the MPEG-2 codec isn't properly record or that another codec has been installed and Windows Media Player is giving preference to the other codec.

Check the codec selected for playback: select 'Properties' from the 'File' menu after clicking once on the video file and note the value for "codec" video  With the key, it should be "Main Concept MPEG - 2 Video Decoder".

Here are extracts that were taken from section of the TiVo Support under category of reading problems. Take a look at who they listed troubleshooting steps.

http://support.tivo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/196 .

The Tivo forum has its users posting the same problem with media center application. This problem mainly because of the Media Center services are disabled. Link below includes the steps that you can try to solve your problem.

Please go through the above steps and let us know if this helps.

Kind regards
Anthony.
