By using the contents of the character (not the format) in a variable?

Hi, all you experts Frame.

In Microsoft Word, you can create a header that contains the STYLEREF field, and "call" any text defined by any style, including character styles. Therefore, you can have a glossary with the term "set" with a character style and this allows to present the expression in the header of the document (re: type dictionary page headers). The advantage of this is that you can have a very simple layout for a glossary (no table, heads aside, etc.) and still have headers of type dictionary.

In FrameMaker, it seems that you can't use a paragraph format in a variable that you use in the header of the document. Is this OK, or you can use a variable to "call" the content defined with a character format?

For example, let's say I want a glossary which is formatted as follows:

Terms in Glossary: a term that appears in the glossary. (when a character style, for example, GlossTerm, is used to make the term "BOLD", and the paragraph is a normal body.)

Can I get the term in the page header using a variable (or any other simple method of FrameMaker)? If this isn't the case, then I will use a table w/para. format for term, but is not first choice of the customer.

Please note that I don't want to enter into any debate on the merits of the FrameMaker vs Word. I just want to know if there is a simple solution to this framework.

Thank you very much

Alternatively, the contents of the <$marker1>and <$marker2>of the building blocks of the two markers h/f. You should always fill the markers. But, if the contents are already labeled with the character, and then using the find tag and saw the markers Panel open and set for header/footer $1 or $2 marker, the content would be automatically displayed in the markers Panel. All you have to do is to hit the "new marker" button to fill the marker at this stage. The entire process can be automated with framescript.

The alternative (and the most typical way to do this in FM) is to change your current structure of the glossary and use paragraphs run-in, where your glossary term is in a paratag and the definition is located in another paratag.

  • AF:convertDateTime converts the year 19xx when you use the format of year 2 figures

    Hello

    I have a page with a single inputText field with an oracle.jbo.domain.Date as a value and an af:convertDateTime as a date converter. date converter has a secondary ground of "mmddyy". the problem is that when I type a date using the secondary model, and year to date is after 49, then af:convertDateTime photos 19xx as year-round; not 20xx. It works up until 1950. between 1950 and up to 99 it converts in 19xx.

    I have read a document that 1950 is used by default by oracle.adf.view.faces.converter.DateTimeConverter to convert strings to date, but this can be changed in a document called adf-faces - config.Xml. I looked for the document but could not find it. Can someone tell me where is the document or if it has been replaced by something else?

    This is where I found the information: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28967/appendixa011.htm#BABHCEJE]

    This is the code in the page:

    * < af:inputText label = "Label 1" id = "it1' autoSubmit ="true"partialTriggers = value =" #{pageFlowScope.MyPb.date "it1"} "> *.
    <!-af:convertDateTime fails year after 50-> 19xx
    * < af:convertDateTime pattern = "MM/dd/yyyy" secondaryPattern = "MMDDYY" / > *.

  • Date show invites by using the calendar and presentation Variables

    Hi all

    That's what it takes...

    I need to create a two prompts (from_date and to_date) on a date column so that I can filter the data by using a condition. This is how I do

    I created two guests (edited the formula) and passing values to two variables var_from and var_to presentation. In the report, I limit the query on assistance between motor coaches for both the presentation variable. Everything works fine but the problem is I need display var_from and var_to in my report also.

    I'm referencing variables like ' @{var_from}' and ' @{var_to}' but I get two columns as white. I don't really know why I get empty values for these two columns only when I am able to filter my report with success on the basis of the date values in the guests...

    Just to metion... in my database, I have values in m/d/yyyy format only. So I am able to use the calendar successfully

    Any help on this would be much appreciated...

    Thank you
    -Ronny

    Ronny,
    Drafts of answers do you see? ID wait, but on the dashboard when you set filters, you should see values that crosses?
    You can extend the syntax of the variable closely and provide a default value, so when you work in the answers you can see what it looks like,

    something like @{var_from} {January 1, 2010 ""}

    Also you can reference variables in the title, the subtitle or the narrative views if you want.

  • in the format text for variables

    I'm a quiz of vocabulary in flash application design, and it draws to determine the definition of a Word when it is used in the context. I have the code to communicate with php and mySql that returns my question 3 variables work.
    question_start / / the text of the sentence after the word vocab
    target_word / / the word
    question_end / / the rest of the sentence

    Here's the line of code that assigns this to my text field:
    [code]
    question_txt. Text = variables.question_start.concat ("", variables.target_word, "", variables.question_end);
    [/ code]

    It works fine, but I want variables.target_word is displayed differently than the rest, either in italics, bold, different color or whatever. I tried to change the database:

    < i > < /i > Word
    the italic tags are not interpreted, they come with him. I think not (using AS3 and php5) how to get only one word in italics.

    I know that I can create a text field for just this word that has italic set to true, or put another text field that says that "the definition of < Word > is:" above my radio group, but I really would prefer to find a way to incorporate the italics in the sentence. "

    Thanks to anyone who can help
    p.s.: I was looking for the right tag display the code, but have not yet found

    I have not yet took the leap to AS3, but in AS2 I would convert it the TextField to a htmlText field, then you can apply tags to style, I think it would still be viable in AS3, use the html button, after selecting the domain and then code something like:

    Hello

    Pool use in your init block, you had to choose a connection pool to use for the query, so the code to be used in an init block isn't OBIEE LSQL but it is true SQL based on the database of your connection.

    So it depends on if your connection pool to connect to Oracle DB, SQL Server, or another type of database for the syntax to use in your query for date calculations.
