byte order mark

I saw asked at another time, but he has not actually answered. In dreamweaver when you include php in a Web page files, such as creating a temple, unicode automatically inserts these byte order marks. In preferences, you can uncheck an option that includes the byte order marks, but when they are disabled, they still manage to appear, causing random spaces in your formatting. This is a problem because it substitutes for the CSS and the characters are hidden until you view your page in a browser or in Live view mode. If anyone can answer this question it would be greatly appreciated.

I started, ensuring that coding was correct and that the Nomenclature were not included, well. I do thank you for trying to help me.

I am the acquisition of the Lumenera USB 2.0 camera images (16-bit format). When I use the transformation of 'image to the table' IMAQ I get all negative pixel values. I think that the problem is related to the wrong byte order (big vs little Endian). No idea how to solve this problem?

  • How to manage the padding issue & bytes - ordering when you change the resource (PiPL) file in windows?

    Hi all

I just started programming sdk photoshop. I noticed that the resources provided by Adobe Guide recommends to develop dialogs using Mac ground language and converting it into window using the CNVTPIPL resource file. EXE. If you use a windows resource editor, padding and byte-ordered issue must be handled by the programmer himself. Since I'm not sure what is the architectural differences between a PC and a Mac, can someone explain to me exactly how padding and byte-ording problems are handled under the windows resource editor? It would be good if there is no concrete example.

    Thanks for any help!

You really shouldn't edit resources directly if you can avoid it.

Simply modify the .rc files or Betty and recompile.

    Hi all

I have a very general question regarding the order of byte to a dll.

I have a dll that was compiled on a little endian machine. I want to use this dll in my application and my machine is big endian. So, in my application, before sending the data to the dll, I need to convert these data in little endian?

Even without the overthinking things, you have a 50% chance to get directly on the first trial and 100% chance to get directly on the second try. Why not just try both? Probably you get a result that is faster than the time it took to wait for answers here.

  • BUG: Split then join reverse byte order - sometimes

I created a simple to serialize an array of bytes I32 and fell VI on this interesting bug. This code runs in 32-bit SP1 of LabVIEW in 2014, fully patched. Save the parts two attached and run TestI32ToByteArray.vi. Note that the 6 and 7 at the end of the table are reversed. If you explore the data around, everything looks good except the string split on the last low word is reversed. Any ideas?

  • Problem reading from a configuration file that was edited in Notepad

    Hi all

When I try to read a configuration file (which was edited from Notepad) using OpenG (read INI Cluster) I get no output function. Debugging for the question I tried to read the same file using read from text file function. The result I got is as follows:

See here: Config file "byte order mark"

  • b and characters appear when reading from a text file

The image shown vi opens a text file from hard drive with ' Open/create/replace the file' and 'reading a spreadsheet file.

Then the vi displays the text in the respective indicators.

In these two indicators, there is a y and b that appear as the first characters.

It's not exactly a y and b. Two points above him there and the stem of the b blocks down, a script not anglophones.

In Word and Notepad these characters appear. The first character is a zero, as I wrote it originally.

The text file was initially created in Excel and then saved as a unicode text.

Where are these funky letters? and how do I get them to leave?

Also, it seems that the text of these two indicators add a blank line after each line. That does not appear Notepad or Word either.

There's your problem: unicode.  You can see this quick phone: Config file "byte order mark"

Yes, by saving in Unicode format, you have a few extra bytes that know most of the text editor to ignore.  But LabVIEW gives you just the raw data.

  • How to save a playlist as UTF-8 without BOM *.m3u8?

How can you save a playlist as *.m3u8 UTF-8 without BOM (byte order mark)?

A few songs on my playlist appears in the clip because they contain characters such as e, to, e

I did a search on this forum and found the solution that saves the playlist as *.m3u8 UTF-8 without BOM (byte order mark), but I don't know how to do this.

Can change me the extension (by adding the '8')?

I use Mp3tag and it doesn't have the ability to save the playlist with the extension .mp3u8, and I can't find where I could check the options 'BOM' and 'UTF-8 '.

    Thank you very much.

I managed to find the solution (see below).  For the benefit of third parties, I also do a summary of what should be done to use successfully. Playlists m3u with the Sansa Clip when you just drag and drop instead of use the feature of "synchronization" of iTunes or Windows Media Player:

(Assuming that you use Mp3tag to create the playlist)

    1. in the Sansa Clip, go to settings/Usb mode, check 'MASTER '.

    2. I think that you will have to format the drive, then copy again your mp3 in the drive

    3-open Mp3tag

    4 - go to Options/Export

5 create a new configuration of export and name it "M3U8 Playlist," relative paths

    6. then double-click it, then is paste the text below:

    $filename (m3u8, utf - 8) #EXTM3U
    $loop (% _counter) EXTINF: % # % _length_seconds, artist % - %title%
    % _filename_rel %
    $loopend)

    7. you can create this 2nd export the configuration if you want to, if ever a new firmware requires an absolute path (?).  The name: "M3U8 Playlist, absolute paths.

    $filename (m3u8, utf - 8) #EXTM3U
    $loop (% _counter) EXTINF: % # % _length_seconds, artist % - %title%
    _path %
    $loopend)

    8 - uncheck "write BOM".

    9. change the directory to where are your mp3

10 select the mp3 of playlists

    11. Richt-click, choose "export...". »

    12 - select "M3U8 Playlist, relative pathnames"

    13. This will create a file with the extension "*.m3u8".  It's your playlist.

    14. place in the folder music to your Sansa Clip, NOT in the folder selections (like strange and illogical could seems).

  • Playlist confusion about encoding (UTF-8)

The following playlist does not work for me (content see [empty]):

    playlist1.m3u:

    #EXTM3U
#EXTINF:434, Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67: Allegro Con Brio
    Lubov Orchestra\Beethoven - Symphonies No. 5 and 8\01 Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67_ Allegro Con brio.mp3

Notice the accented 'i' in 'Brio '.

Now the following playlists, using UTF-8 encoding, all * work:

playlist2.m3u (UTF - 8 encoded, always with the ".m3u" file extension):

    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:434, Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67: Allegro Con Brazil - o
    Lubov Orchestra\Beethoven - Symphonies No. 5 and 8\01 Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67_ Allegro Con Brazil - o.mp3

playlist3.m3u8 (same #2, but with the extension "*.m3u8"):

    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:434, Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67: Allegro Con Brazil - o
    Lubov Orchestra\Beethoven - Symphonies No. 5 and 8\01 Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67_ Allegro Con Brazil - o.mp3

playlist4.m3u8 (with the extension "*.m3u8" and leading Byte Order Mark):

    'i' #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:434, Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67: Allegro Con Brazil - o
    Lubov Orchestra\Beethoven - Symphonies No. 5 and 8\01 Symphony No. 5 in C minor opus 67_ Allegro Con Brazil - o.mp3

[I think that the success of #4 is new with 01.01.15; I think it failed with firmware earlier.  Note: I had to fix UTF-8 sequences above to make them appear on this web page as they do in my text editor.  The actual byte values for the 'i' are accentuated x 'C3AD'.]

I am pleased to see that UTF - 8 taken in charge with the extension *.m3u8, but shouldn't the .m3u extension means the file is not * UTF - 8 encoded and assume the ISO encoding?

Solved: it turns out the faulty playlist was created by MP3Tag and was written using ISO encoding when the "rocket" wants to playlists in UTF-8 format.  I will recommend is no longer using MP3Tag for playlist generation (unless all titles are in line with the (English) characters of 7-bit ASCII).

  • Query HTTP GET returning always with '? ' at the beginning

    Hi all

I did experiment with the display of HTML content in a BrowserField (5.0) two different ways:

    1. With the help of browserField.requestContent (url);
    2. Retrieve the HTML of "url" using a HTTP GET request and then displaying the HTML retrieved with:
    browserField.displayContent(response, http://localhost);

I would use the method #2 because I want to be able to cache the HTML source in a persistent storage. However, for some reason when I use the #2 method, the HTML returned by the HTTP response contains a '? ' at the very beginning of the response/html:

    ? Founded in 2008, ...

I concluded that the problem is not with my .html page.  The question mark seems to be introduced during the HTTP request/response.  However, when I use the same method #2 to a different URL, say from google.com, the source is returned without an exclamation mark.

    Any ideas?

I'll just be brief here, because I think you might be capable of that worked for yourself and therefore save me time...

I suspect that you have a BOM - Byte Order mark, which is used by some Web sites, search wikipedia for more information.

Anyway, you really want to convert html get UTF - 8 and then give the string to the browser field, because it is not converted into UTF - 8 correctly.  So I suspect that you can only receive input html in the form of bytes, including the Board of Directors and pass directly through to the BrowserField.

  • Coding tables and external character

Oracle 11.2.3.0 STD. Ed. ONE, 64-bit

    Oracle Linux 64-bit 5.6

To quote Lloyd Bridges during his move to plane, "I chose a bad day to quit sniffing glue."

Apart from the translations of the ascii-ebcdic in my IBM mainframe days, I never had to deal with problems of encoding character before, so I'm not even sure what I'm looking for here.  Question by one of my best developers.

Creating an external table to read a textfile from outside of the organization.  First sign of trouble was when the developer tried to select in the table.

using SQL Naviagator (no and Oracle product) the result looks like this:

Using SQL Developer, the result looks like this:

Looking at the raw in hexadecimal mode UltraEdit file, I see that the first two characters of the file are x'FF ' x'FE ', and each character normal, printable is followed by x '00'.  If this first row first column above (from SQL Developer), with "E m a i l A d d r e s s", in the file itself is as follows (hexagonal channels)

    FF FE 45 00 6 d 00 61 00 69 00 20 00 41 00 6 c    (etc, etc)

Read "Handling character encoding different patterns" at https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/ldr_control_file.htm#SUTIL1079, but do not make sense.

Guess I don't have enough of a frame of reference to start there.

The rep "implementation" of the company that provides the file tells us that it is "UTF-16 Little Endian"

All entries, details, comments, solutions welcome.

    Hi Ed,

The first 2 bytes, what you see is what is called the "byte order mark" or BOM (which indicates the Unicode file "endianness").

    Given the 'E' is hexadecimal code 0 x 45 and Unicode 16-bit little endian format is used in the file, the 2 bytes 'E' (0 x 0045) becomes 0 x 45 0x00 in little endian (or just 45 00).

    UPDATE1:

1 removed the previous comment (s) on inclusion BIGENDIAN and DATA IS... Options-ENDIAN (see doc link below if you want to include these for your environment).

    2. including 2 items in the specification of the external table enabled it works in my test environment:

-Characters of the STRING SIZES ARE in

    -CHARACTERSET 'UTF16.

3 note: no changes of parameters SQL Developer was necessary. This has also worked as you want plain old SQL * more.

    Reference documentation:

    https://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/et_params.htm#SUTIL012

Excerpt from the specifications, with what I used to test:

    ...
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL (
      TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
      DEFAULT DIRECTORY ext_data_dir
      ACCESS PARAMETERS (
        RECORDS DELIMITED BY NEWLINE
        NOLOGFILE
        STRING SIZES ARE IN characters
        CHARACTERSET 'UTF16'
        FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
        MISSING FIELD VALUES ARE NULL
        (
          [ snip ]
        )
      )
      LOCATION ([ snip ])
    ...

I used Notepad on a Windows machine to record my simple test file as Unicode to the BOM is present and characters are Little - Endian UTF16 (i.e. the file-> save as-> Encoding: Unicode).

Am I missing other setups/configurations that could cause this?

You forgot the most important part of the error message. "Output started at..." tells you where the production has started, guiding you to correct the error.

The most common cause of this error is a space outside of an include file PHP tags. Most likely guilty is one or more new lines after the closing PHP tag in Old4thDB.php. Remove the closing tag PHP in this folder will be probably solved the problem.

Another possible cause is using the BOM (byte order mark) on a PHP page. Make sure that the check box for the BOM is deselected in the Save dialog box.

Starting the virtual machine has been tried several times earlier when I received the error message to tell the parent disk had been changed since the child was created. I looked at the resolution and had a go at fixing.

I downloaded the vmdk files to find the problematic descriptor file it corrected and then download the a back fixed to the data store. I then removed the VM of the inventory and then re he added before attempting to start it. He says now the specified file is not a virtual disk. Unfortunately, I didn't know that he was still working on a snapshot file and had been for some time. It was a former VM test that I had played a little bit with all learning on VMware, but unfortunately he had a few files on it which is no longer, I have backup ups for and I could really do with recovery of them! The base file and delta file are always on display in the data store and I can re - use the base file in a new virtual machine but I need the data from the snapshot if possible file. Not sure if it can be manually engaged at the base (I have a copy of). I'm new to this depth of troubleshooting and according to research I realize it is a great chance, the data is not recoverable. Having said that if there is no hope at all then I would try or at least have someone who knows what they're doing a go help before you tell me everything is lost! I'm not really bothered to get the virtual machine running again, but must be able to copy some files in the C drive.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you

I can't tell you if the data in the virtual drive itself can be retrieved by the attached hard file. However, it seems that you have used an editor who added a BOM (Byte-Order-Mark) at the beginning of the file, which made her an invalid for ESXi.

Select the drop-down list next to the button control record and select the option "save with encoding...". ». The Advanced Save dialog options, select "Unicode (UTF-8 with signature)" option and click the OK button.

How can I go about fixing this? I don't know where these files reside indeed like all I submit is an APPXBUNDLE file.

    Hi Rhome,

It looks like that you use a custom window in your Windows application and custom store files are not encoded properly. You must use a text editor to re - register all your showcase custom files so that they are UTF - 8 with the byte order mark. Then repackage the files customized storefront in a zip, re - download App Builder and submit your application.

One publisher who can do that is to notepad ++. When you change the file go to menu "encode in UTF - 8" encoding, and then select Save file. You will need to do this for each folder in your custom storefront.

    Hello

Just a thought, when I had the same problem, it seems to be a BOM (Byte order mark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) in the xml file, which is the first character in the xml file, so the file was not to be a valid xml file. Remove the XML of the BOM fixed my problem, however, I didn't spend a lot of time in setting using B2B, the seller (the sender of the file) fixed the file and started sending without BOM. So, my job was easier.

The character is not visible in any XML Editor, however, he was visible in JDeveloper. I used a tool to identify and remove in the course of trials until the vendor fixed the file, the tool is called file nomenclature detector,http://www.bryntyounce.com/filebomdetector.htm
