[Camera RAW] Is it possible to adapt the algorithm of auto lighting?

I find auto to be a decent starting point to adjust exposure and generic lighting, but I find that the algorithm is incorrect:

1. the algorithm always puts the white on the edge and generates black/white clipping. Auto should never allow that.

2. the algorithm is more focused on the right exposure settings, rather than evening the entire image to make a curve smooth color.

3. I think I wish I could say just the algorithm "Okay, its good and all, but I want each time for the algorithm to be a little less exposed.". I don't like the lighter images, unless I go to this effect. I love the deeper images, and I find that too much light makes the entire image... flat.

Is it possible that I can change the 'Auto' button to choose a different algorithm, for example, less light or more light?

Is it possible that I can change the order of precedence of the auto, focus on the configuration of other parameters before you adjust the exposure, or focus on the lighting curve smoothing, rather than put the lighting in the same area?

I wish there was a way to point to something and say the program, "this point, this is where you need face lighting the most for auto.» If this area is bad, its automatic failure on the curve of the car. »

No, it is hard-coded in. However, you can apply the car in a different way. You can shift/click on the individual settings to only set Auto for these adjustments you want to make.

Normally, I shoot with the 7dmarki and have never had any problems.  After troubleshooting my error message 'cannot open IMG1111 because it's the wrong file type', only the options have been updated plugin raw from the camera, to buy the latest version or uninstall and reinstall.  First train to the plugin to update because it was a leased device.  Thanks again!

Thanks MichelBParis!  I didn't see where he said to 12 items.  I downloaded the free DNG Converter last night and not had much luck.  It is not recognizing that I have all files in the folder at all.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong!

    To all

In Bridge, in starting to copy files from Adobe Camera RAW to jpeg or tif, error "the file cannot be created" - can all someone please advise? (No phone Tech Saturday?)

Thanks for the quick responses today from anyone in the community,

    -Mark, Portland Oregon

Please provide details: you are not trying to change the file type by changing just the extension, are you?  That won't work of course,

Either you try to run some type of script?

To change a file type, you have TO open the file in Photoshop and do save as.  That can be automated.

  • Will Adobe Camera Raw DNG Converter 7.4 or the work version 8.7.1 on premium design CS5.5 Adobe on a MAC OSX Version 10.7.5 Lion, I recently acquired a new X100S of Fuji camera that is listed on 7.4 Mac download, I can't open the Raw of RAF FRO files

Will be Adobe Camera Raw DNG Converter 7.4 or the work version 8.7.1 on premium design CS5.5 Adobe on a MAC OSX Version 10.7.5 Lion, I recently acquired a new X100S of Fuji camera that is listed on 7.4 Mac download, I can't open the files Raw of RAF of the camera in photoshop CS 5.5 or will I have to spend to CS6 and it will work then?  Thank you very much, Paul

I'm afraid that the answer is the same as your other request. It is not a question of the difference between Photoshop CS 5.5 and the Design Premium version. This is the version number. And Photoshop CS Design Premium 5.5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to 6.7. The DNG Converter is always your best choice if you're not ready to upgrade your Photoshop.

But then I realize I have not read your question closely. The DNG Converter does not work with any program. It is a separate stand-alone program which is used only to create copies of your DNG (digital negative) raw images. You can use the DNG Converter as your software download, conversion of images as they are transferred to your computer. Then, you will be able to open them with older versions of Camera Raw that are compatible with your version of Photoshop. Some people fear that the DNG Converter means a step further. But if you use it in your download software, I think you will find that it can streamline things considerably.

When you configure the DNG Converter, make sure that a compatibility option that is compatible with your version of Camera Raw. Also, take note that the DNG Converter will prompt you for a FILE containing raw images. Choose the folder, but do not open it.

  • How Camera Raw and various profiles to manage the Transition to overexposure

With all the attention that I had to pay to profiles lately, I've been opening many images with colors vivid blue (where my recent post on trying to get better blue color).

One of the things I noticed is that the transition to overexposure seems to be treated VERY differently depending on the chosen profile.

Of particular interest is an image that I shot recently to a stage where some blue lights shone on the crowd and in the goal of my Canon EOS - 40 d of.  I was surprised how differently the transition towards overexposure is based on the chosen profile.

Not including one of the profiles provided by Adobe manages this transition smoothly at all, showing a few transitions strong - which explains why I had so much trouble with the color of the sky.

Some examples follow (they have all been converted to sRGB for viewing through a browser).  Specifically, note the area around the blue light at the top right.

Adobe Standard profile such that supplied with Camera Raw by Adobe:

    AdobeStandardProfileBlueOverexposure.jpg

Camera Standard profile such that supplied with Camera Raw by Adobe:

    CameraStandardProfileBlueOverexposure.jpg

Profile of landscape of camera, like that provided with Camera Raw by Adobe:

    CameraLandscapeProfileBlueOverexposure.jpg

Very good 40 d profile "sRGB Standard of the DPP" Vit Novak gave me a few days earlier, based on measures of how Canon DPP manages the colors:

The format of JPEG in camera:

This change in color when blue/cyan is intentional, also because blown blue colors are rendered around 190 degrees tinted sRGB, so transition should be smooth. But in the case of sRGB profile, it's suddenly somewhere near half of LUT (according to saturation), where the nonlinear values sRGB reached 1, while Adobe RGB, it is much more smooth. Looks like it's cut into sRGB

About highlights and possible appearance of the hard core it's the Canon seems a built-in LUT that extends above the 1 brightness value, in order to cover the sensor output after whitebalancing, where R and B can be greater than 1 (because the R and B channels is less sensitive and they are multiplied with WB R and B multipliers). DNG profiles do not offer this capability - above 1 everything is cut prior to calculation of LUT, so I adjusted the calibration for the different process, but it can not be handled properly. So whatever I do, it won't be the same in this region (and there may be additional logic in the camera). But ACR has recovery slider, which compresses the upper region to fit into the LUT

This topic is quite complex, really

  • Is there currently a Camera Raw plugin for Photoshop CS for the Nikon d-600? tried to download version 7.3, but did not work

Is there currently a Camera raw plug taking in charge the d-600? I tried to download version 7.3, and it did not work!

You have photoshop cs (photoshop 8) to 2003?

If so, what operating system are you using?

In addition to the upgrade to photoshop cs6 or by subscribing to the creative cloud, you can probably use Adobe's DNG Converter to convert your nikon D600 naves in best dng, which should then open in photoshop cs.

You must have the 2.4 for DNG camera to work in photoshop cs raw plugin.

  • The color of love Palette selector. Is it possible to adjust the algorithm? What is the btw algorithm (he's looking for more distant pixels? some kind of quantification?)

    Hi hued3751123!

In "Colors", you should be able to manually select which areas of the image to draw. If the swatches are moving too quickly, tap the screen and who must freeze the image. From there, drag the color charts of the area that you want to remove the color of. You are, perhaps, by using the tool "Looks"? If so, return to the main menu and select "Colors" in the toolbar.

Regarding the algorithm, I'm not sure that I can share this information

I can bring up the menu to harvest two ways:

    1. left click and hold the button for a second or so on the icon of the culture.

    2. right click anywhere on the image in the mode of culture.
