  Hi, I hope this question is not too basic. Adobe told me that my camera needs Lightroom 6.6 and and 'Minimum Camera Raw plug-in version required = 9.4'. I downloaded and installed 6.6. However, on my Mac, I downloaded the pkg CameraRaw 9.6 and followed the installation instructions. He said "Finished ' etc... Now, when I go in the plug-in Manager and add, I can't find where is the new plugin.   Lightroom 6.6 is not affected by the camera raw plugin. This technology is integrated into the program of camera raw. Unless you use Photoshop CC 2015, or the latest version of Photoshop Elements, the camera raw plugin is not something that you can use. If you have installed 6.6 Lightroom and your camera is on the list of supported devices, that's all you need. You use Photoshop CC 2015?

  When you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements installed then the installation program will automatically put the plugin where it is supposed to be. But if you don't have a program that supports camera raw then there is no interest to install.

  This means that the 12 elements is too old updated to 8.6.

  You must have at least PSE13 (PSE14 is now at 9.4)

  If you do not wan't to pay the upgrade, you can use the DNGconverter mentioned in this faq. You download this application free and independent (not a plugin); It can batch process all of a folder of your raw files to DNG format raw that your 12 elements can read and modify.

  This is incorrect, you can download ACR 5.7 plug-ins for Photoshop CS4, allowing you to open. Ships of your D90. (ACR = Adobe Camera Raw)

  No need to use the DNG Converter.

  If you have windows, you should be able to find the similar ACR for window 5.7. Google is your friend.

  I would avoid using View NX from Nikon for download your ships. Many people have reported files corrupted when using this method.

  You also mentioned about the lack of icons. Have you tried to use Adobe Bridge?

  All ships have a built-in preview .jpg and bridge can certainly not see these previews.

  You can directly open files NAVE of the bridge in ACR. You just need to first download and install ACR 5.7.

  Normally, I shoot with the 7dmarki and have never had any problems.  After troubleshooting my error message 'cannot open IMG1111 because it's the wrong file type', only the options have been updated plugin raw from the camera, to buy the latest version or uninstall and reinstall.  First train to the plugin to update because it was a leased device.  Thanks again!

  Thanks MichelBParis!  I didn't see where he said to 12 items.  I downloaded the free DNG Converter last night and not had much luck.  It is not recognizing that I have all files in the folder at all.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong!

  I tried going to help > updates, but that only brings up the cc apps. I don't have Photoshop CC. On my old PC by going to help > updates, he brought up Adobe Application Manager, which worked perfectly, but it doesn't work on my new PC.   No, you pushed PES 11 up to the limit. You could move on to PSE 13, or you can download the free adobe dng converter and use it to make the DNG files that your version of ACR can understand.

  Nothing worked until I managed to speak directly to Adobe support. They recommended to install the latest version of Camera Raw Installer 8.6. It has not helped to open NEF files immediately but he fixed an error of 6.7 'update failed' updated Camera Raw! After updating to 6.7 all goes well, see my d800 naves. Cheers, Sergey

  The camera RAW plug in doesn't work anymore since I bought a Canon Eos 700 d.

  Unfortunately there is no camera raw update for PES 10 which will manage the Canon Eos 700 d.

  You can use the 7.4 dng converter to convert the dng files copies which should then open in ESP 10.

  You might also consider upgrading to PES 11 or try lightroom 4.4

  That is right. The D800 Nikon NEF RAW requires ACR 6.7 or higher and you must be at least CS5 to use ACR 6.7.  You must download convert DNG 8.6 and create DNG files for NEF files using CS4. Camera Raw plugin | Compatible cameras

  You need PSE12 to read your CR2 files. Otherwise, download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the universal Raw format files and Adobe will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for uses in the software of the camera factory)

• Need help to update / using Camera RAW in Photoshop to 8.6

  I use Photoshop CC 2014.1.0 (20140730.r.148 x 64) and my latest version of Camera Raw in Photoshop is 8.4.1.200. (I can see it by going to help-> about-> camera raw plugin)

  My version of Lightroom is 5.6 (x 64) and the camera raw in Lightroom is 8.6. So basically I have the latest camera raw, but it is not used in Photoshop CC.

  My main problem is that using Lightroom and choose "Edit in photoshop CC 2014" I get a message saying:

  "This version of Lightroom can require the Photoshop Camera Raw plugin version 8.6 for full compatibility."

  He also said I had to go to help-> updates menu in photoshop to get the last orders, but my installation of Photoshop is to next day.

  If anyone knows how to change the raw version of camera used in Photoshop CC 2014 to 8.6?
