Can I restore my OptiPlex 360 settings without reinstalling Windows?
I have an OptiPlex 360 running Windows 8.1. I'm not the original owner, and the previous owner has left a top Windows password. Is there a way to bypass the password without reinstalling Windows?
I tried the following:
- Shift + reboot: all the useful options on this screen requires either a password or a reinstallation of Windows. I don't have an installation or a recovery disk, but I can get one if necessary.
- F2/F12 during startup: I have not found all the options to restore the factory settings.
- Installation of Windows 10: I tried to burn the disk Windows 10 for a DVD image file and start from that, but I didn't get the error message "boot device available."
Factory settings can be restored in the Dell boot menu, or should I ask this at Microsoft Support Forum? Do I need a recovery disk?
Thanks in advance.
The OptiPlex 360 has not supplied with Windows 8.1, it had to be a level of detail. You will need to clean Windows Installer, but given the fact that you don't have the Windows 8.1 key detail you can't simply clean reinstall Windows 8.1.
If you can get the Windows 10 Insider 10130 .iso image file, you can use this upgrade:

Can someone give me instructions on how to reinstall Windows Vista Home Premium?
Re-install Vista Home Premium
Microsoft gave me this web address, they said you could provide me w/step by step instructions on how to reinstall my Vista Home Premium... looks like my windows crashes once AGAIN...Hello
There are several methods to reinstall Vista.
This can help you (download files and make your own DVDs).
Vista ultimate is available. Read the information in the lower part of the message on how to use it for other editions of Vista:
http://www.heidoc.NET/Joomla/technology-science/Microsoft/57-Windows-Vista-direct-download-links
And here are instructions on how to burn ISO disk images:
http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/isorecorder.html
The download links and information on how to make the ISO file, and then create the Setup DVD above are at this link:
"How to download a Vista ISO and create a Setup DVD or USB"
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/301852-Vista-ISO-download-create-installation-DVD-USB.html
"How to create a USB of Vista Installation key '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/181538-USB-bootable-Vista-installation-Flash-thumb-drive.html
___________________________________
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:
How to change the Boot order in BIOS:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm
"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Them or us ask the right sequence of key.
___________________________________
And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.
Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.
If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.
___________________________________
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can borrow and use a DVD Vista Microsoft (selling retail or OEM System Builders License), which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
The COA sticker is either or in the battery compartment on the underside of the laptop.
With a desktop computer, it's on the side, the back or the top of the computer case.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as well as 32-bit and 64-bit editions different DVD lights.
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

Can I restore my computer to factory without a disc?
I'm having a problem with my computer. I would like to try fixing it by restoring it to its factory settings. I'll try just restore to a previous point before the problem started, but the restore point, I thought I had disappeared appearently factory is my next option. Here's the problem: my computer came preloaded and I did not all discs for her. So what I need to know is there a way to update my computer without a disc 1.
Thanks for any help
A backup or an image is not the same as the recovery to the disk
If it is not clear whether you mean by backup diskettes of recovery to the game or simply a windows backup. The two are completely different
Restore points may "disappear" due to problems of system or using third party maintenance utilities

Can I edit partitions of hard drive without erasing Windows?
original title: formatting of disksI have 3 partition. Vista on c. other OS on D & E.I don't want to use D & E OS disk and I need disk space. Can I Format D & E drive without affecting the drive C (Vista)? the attributes are C-boot, page file, crash dump, primary Partition, E-Logical drive, D-system, active, primary partition
Hello Petervn,
1. What are the operating systems you have installed on other drives?
Ideally you can format readers that you dΘmarrez not create a disk space. Since you have Vista installed on the C drive, it would not effect if you partition the other readers. However, you may need to do at your own risk. I suggest that you back up all data and create a system image on your computer before formatting the other readers.

Is there a way to change the video settings before reinstalling windows?
I have a screan broken on my laptop, but due to a problem with the BITS and other services associated with windows update. Is it possible to put BACKS to send videos to my S-Video output and keep it this way when performing the clean install?
Hello
Are you able to nothing appears on the screen?
When you perform a clean install, all your files, settings, and programs will be erased. You cannot send video files to the S video output via a command prompt. You can
try to copy the files and send them to an external hard drive using the command prompt.See this link for help:
http://social.msdn.Microsoft.com/forums/en/Windowssearch/thread/6e5eb2ba-ad29-4719-94b9-c99d38ce7697You can apply the same procedure to copy the video files on an external hard drive.
