Can't download & install Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7 ultimate N (32-bit) edition.

Hello

I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate N (32-bit) on my laptop. I know that Media Player is not included.

Since then, I tried to download WMP 12 on the microsoft site. I found that only the 64-bit support and 86 bit feature pack downloads are available. After trying to install both in any case, I get messages indicating that they are not good versions.

It is possible to download a Windows6. 1-KB968211 - x 32 version? It seems a little strange to not have one available for this version of Windows 7!

Thank you for your time.

Hello

on a 32-bit window, you must install this:

Windows6. 1 - KB968211 -x 86 .msu

  • How can I clean installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using a upgrade disc?

    Originally, I had a Windows Vista 64 - bit o/s office.

I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit o/s

The first time I ran this 'upgrade', I made the mistake of selecting the option UPGRADE instead of using the CUSTOM option.

For some time since I've done the 'upgrade' I got BSOD problems including caused by video and WebCam drivers.

This is why last week, I took the plunge and decided to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using my UPGRADE disc (the disc is not FULL version)

    I selected CUSTOM

I saw, I had two partitions:

    Disk 0 Partition 1: Win_RE

    Disk 0 Partition 2: CDrive (c :))

I couldn't find an option to delete my partitions and perform a new installation.

I ran this and finished installing fine but did not format my drive and it change named my windows to windows.old. Things seem to be ok on my PC, now that I've done this, and I don't take BSoD right now.

However, I was told that I should be able to achieve a COMPLETE clean install delete partitions to force the OS to reformat and recreate the C: partition.

    The menu:

    Discount

Load the driver (I have no idea what is this option)

To make changes to partitions, restart Windows from the installation disc

I could not click on an option to delete/reformat my partitions and thus abandoned the process.

I then let the disc (forgive my ignorance) and restarted the PC. I dropped in the BIOS and set to boot from the DVD drive.

This did not do anything to bring up the WINDOWS SETUP option. It would simply start Windows after that, I suspect, he couldn't find the exe file to start.

Thus, while everything seems to work fine, I'm frustrated that I can't run a clean full install like what I'm doing doesn't work.

If someone is able to give me advice on how I can get the installation routine to show this option which would be more useful.

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

If you say that you have downloaded video clips

There are many programs that can do conversions...

(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup260.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the last screen)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup260.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Hi Graham,

Windows Media Player 11 is included in Windows Vista Home Basic, family Premium, Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise Edition.

    For more information, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player

Windows Media Player 12 comes without a doubt with lighter and brighter user interface, but also several new features with a built in support for many video and audio formats popular. Unfortunately, Windows Media Player 12 is currently not available for download for Vista.

The Windows media player 12 will be offered by the Windows updates once it is available for Windows Vista.

    Thank you for the update.

    Please provide the information:

No attachments or downloaded files will open with Windows Media center?

It seems that the default program to open downloaded files is defined as a Windows Media center.

    Method 1:

You can try to start the article Fixit and check if it helps.

When you run an .exe on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7 computer file, the file may start another program

Important: The above link also contains manual steps to change the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

    Method 2:

Try also try to set the default program to open files.
