  • Cannot find initialization code for the ESW switches files.

ESW 500 Series firmware 2.1.16 version requires Boot version 1.0.0.7 for 8 ports ESW models and version 1.0.0.4 start-up for models 24 or 48 ports, you may be to install or upgrade the startup code to ensure that the appropriate versions are used manually.

To download the firmware and code files for ESW startup switches, go to www.cisco.com/go/esw500help, click on the " resources " tab, then click the link Firmware. Need a Cisco.com login.

Cannot find the boot code to the listed ADDRESS.

    Hi Brian,.

I followed the link you mentioned and selected the firmware and searched around and found the startup code.

  • Have the valid serial number, works of the trial but activation stops with "cannot find CS5 on this computer.

Bought and installed Contribute CS5 after changing computer/Windows 7. Have the serial number valid which is accepted on the activation screen, but he says that he cannot find CS5 on my computer and lists CS3 and CS4. The trial version works and I have been going this route, but now I'm out of the trial uses... help please! Through one another session of phone marathon with Adobe for a different number of series/installation problem is not in my plans of work. BTW, it is only installed on this computer.

Looks like it's eligible in product research.  Did you buy an upgrade?  You have a version earlier than the entry serial number?

  • How to import a TXT file in my list of firewall rules?

Good then I exported a list of firewall rules in a txt file. I then copied on some firewall rules. Then I saved the file txt and I wonder how I can re - import the txt file. Please note that I don't know of import policy...

UH I thank you for responding, but apparently you misunderstood what I meant... When I go into windows firewall, there is an option to export the list of rules I want to know is how to re - import this list of rules in because there is no other choice... If so how do I do?

Since I couldn't find a solution that I found something different that also works. I found a .bat file that you can put in the folder in which you want to block the program and it crashes all the exe files in this folder and all subfolders. You can even choose a fix before custom firewall rule... If any other person having this problem follow the instructions, I provide below:

Instructions (found online modified by me)

Create a .bat file, named "addfwrs.bat" without the quotes using italic text, then follow the additional instructions:

    off @echo
REM FILE OF ORDERS CREATED BY CHARLES DE HAVILLAND 20/02/2012
    CLS
If '%1 'is' ' GOTO: norulename
    RULENAME SET = %1
ECHO creating/starting of firewall rules for all files with the rulename of 'RULENAME '? % *.exe
    ECHO.
    ECHO.

    pause
    Echo.
    FOR /r %% in ("*.exe") Do (@echo %%d KB
    ("NETSH advfirewall firewall add rule name =" "% RULENAME-% ~ nxG" dir = program = "% G" action = 'block' enable = 'yes')
    FOR /r %% in ("*.exe") Do (@echo %%d KB
    ("NETSH advfirewall firewall add rule name =" "% RULENAME-% ~ nxG" dir = program = "% G" action = 'block' enable = 'yes')
    Echo.
    ECHO done.
    Echo.
    GOTO: finish
    : norulename
Echo error! -You have not specified a type Rulename - Addfwrs 'Rulename '.
    Echo.
    : Finishing
    ECHO batch finished...

    Additional instructions:

Firewall Windows 7 works fine, but it's not easy to set up with several (very long) programs.

I watched for centuries, trying to find a way to block several files .exe to Windows 7 only once; It seems that the only method was to create my own batch (windows script) file.
I've added below for anyone to use / modify for their own purposes.

Run the commands below (addfwrs.bat) file, will create inbound AND outbound firewall rules that block all .exe files in your chosen folder and subfolders to access internet.
    Very useful.

    To use:

    (1) place addfwrs.bat in the folder in which you want to block .exe programs (it crashes all the programs exe in no matter what subfolders if you can place it in a folder without any exe it blocks)
exe in several subfolders both programs)

    (2) now run CMD as administrator.

    (3) copy the new directory (eg. c:\Programs Files (x 86) \YourProg\) where you put the addfwrs.bat file

    (4) paste it into the directory with "cd" CMD and a space before the directory (example: cd c:\Programs Files (x 86) \YourProg\) and press ENTER.

    (5) now run the batch file by typing: addfwrs.bat "rulename" example: addfwrs "BLOCK_PROGRAM_NAME_HERE".
(Make sure there is no space in the rulename of the firewall rule, so use underscores as spaces.)

N.B: It is important that you add a rulename firewall, so that you can identify the rules when adding to the firewall at a later date.

    (6) follow the information on the screen, he will advise you what rules he is creating.

    (7) check the Windows Firewall for new rules listed and you can then delete the addfwrs.bat file where you put it (it is necessary even if you can keep it somewhere for later).

Quite.  Hope you find it useful, I certainly have!
    Enjoy!

N.B: The new rules contained in the bosom of your firewall (In/Out rules), change as and when you need.

  • VmWare Esxi 4.1 HP ML350 "cannot find image.

There is apparently a problem with the optical drive in the July 10 release support, HP of Esxi 4.1.

    Iso in questions is: 4.1_July_2010_ESXi_HD_USB_SD_Image_Installer_CD_583772_005.iso

When you try to install this version of iso on a HP ML350 server with an optical drive manufactured by LGE and dated May 2010

installation fails with a "cannot find system error or by the image.

I got lucky to have several of these servers HP ML350 of recent fabrication available and I was able to determine that is a

Install ESXi 4.1 was attempted with a former player specifically TS-H353 manufactured February 2010, it installs successfully.  As long as this DVD player was used to install the iso above, everything worked correctly regardless of when the rest of the server was made.

In my humble OPINION, Vmware/HP needs to update Esxi 4.1 version to correct this hardware incompatibilities or compatibility list needs a caveat on this problem with the optical drive.

It should also be noted that when the player is put in a server with a front Esxi 4.1 install in place and working, the optical drive does not appear as a host\Linux device in the virtual customer.

Please note that I know that I have installed from USB or SD card, while that would have solved the problem of the installation, it only would have not corrected unable to mount the optical drive from the virtual Center host device.

I have attached the scans of the optical drive label.

We have exactly the same problem!

On all our new ML350 G6, we cannot install ESXi 4.1 HP (583772_005.iso) image on CD.

No idea, how we can solve this problem without use of external CD-CD-ROM-drives?

  • Cannot install VMware ESXi 4.1 "cannot find the image of the installed system.

Started in iso ESXi 4.1 downloaded, burned on a CD, CD, go to the screens, press F11 to install.  Immediately get the following error:

    -

    The installation operation failed!

The installation operation encountered a fatal error:

Cannot find the image of the installed system.  This is due to the image being not mounted correctly or the CD-ROM not supported.

The material is a system of handcrafted with Intel DQ35JO Council, latest version of the BIOS, Intel E6850 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, 2 SATA drives.  I know this isn't on the list compatible but is a 'white box '.  I installed ESXi 3.5 on it in the past and got it working, and I saw other success stories with this Board/CPU.  Yes, I have activated the virtualization mode in the BIOS and powered down/up.

    Here is what I tried:

-Redownload VMware-VMvisor-Installer - 4.1.0 - 260247.x86_64.iso to ensure that it was not corrupt (2 copies, against perfectly)

--Also tried another drive (IDE) CDROM

-Created a bootable USB using uNetBootin 4.7.1 and booted from it

-Switched SATA setting in the BIOS from AHCI to IDE

I get the same exact error.  I searched here and everywhere and don't find any reference to this error.

Help - all do you offer for my next step?

Have you had a previous vSphere installed on your system?

I had the same error on my 'white box' (in fact, it is black).  I used to run esxi 4.0 (u2) on my Acer X 3300 (6 GB, Quad Core AMD Athlon II).  Controllor internal SATA is not supported, but it allows me to use the box for normal windows task and ESXi is sitting on a SDHC 4 GB flash card.

When I started my freshly burned ESX4.1 cdrom, I got the same error.   I thought that the fact that maybe there was an existing install on my destination drive (the flash memory card), and that the CD could not perform an upgrade.

So, I tried the upgrade path (first trying to utility of the host and the .xml error message).  After reading the manual, I did the upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 using the device of vMA and I must say that esxi 4.1 works great on my white box.

Then I suggest that you try upgrading and see how far that gets you.

Good luck (and a beautiful weekend)

  • ESXi 4.0 Dell T105 "cannot find the boot partition.

Dban Nuke used to wipe my hard drives (two of them).

    Unplugged the secondary hard drive.

    Installed ESXi 4.0 (declared success).

Machine starts, starts in ESXi 4.0, starts to load, then:

    "Cannot find the boot partition.

Others have suggested to set parameter SATA AHCI controller. Not possible in my BIOS. I 'ATA Mode' and 'Off '. "Off" turns off the entire controller and my hard drive is not recognized.

Others still suggested to install on a USB key. Wary of such a hack...

Help, please. There is very little out there on ESXi 4. Even a pointer to VMware documentation with a list of error messages and their meaning/solutions would be helpful (unable to find such a list myself).

I had the same problem that others are with the start-up for the drives. I went with the USB boot and it works very well because it has an internal USB port, it works even better because I'm not burn an external port. I use an older version of BIOS that does not start USB ports have enough fast for the key USB is recognized from a cold start *bummer* but not a big deal. Once this is done, I'm off the coast and run very well.

I would recommend going this way until someone comes up with a better alternative, which I would be interested in doing.
