cannot make the background transparent

so am following online tutorials

method 1 says to use the magic wand, other says use the Magic Eraser

use PS elements on PC

load up to jpeg - I want to save this bmp to use as a button in captivate

method 1 = make a layer, click the magic wand click white continuous space click on delete. background will transparent = vΘrification. Save as bmp.  Load in captivate or opened in the image viewer and it has white background :-(

method 2 = make the layer and add new layer (layer 0 and layer 1) put the photo layer upward.  Repeat as above click and delete - layer will checks = transparent. Save as bmp open and there is white...

So it is very disappointing...

What is missing here - I can't bear to follow another tutorial youtube and get the same error

Are the tutorials from YouTube showing registration in a BMP file?

Your methods are almost there, but saving in BMP is the fault.  When you import BMP format anything transparent turns white, or maybe of the same colour as the upper-left pixel of the image.

Repeat the process and Save in PNG, or PSD, import in the library and drag the new file on the stage. (It IS a two step process and save a new version does not overwrite the file of BMP in the library or on the stage.)

When you export, these elements will show what's behind them, even if it's the Cp slide background.  But you will not be able to see what is behind them on your Office.

  • How to change the color of a scanned document writing and make the background transparent

I'm a newbie using Photoshop elements 11 and tempting - without success so far - to edit a document, I have scanned so I can upload it to a custom fabric printing service. I already scanned a handwritten recipe in color .tif format (which seems black and white, because the original is written black on white background). I also resized the image of 14 "x 23". I need help is:

    1. I want to change the color from black to red writing (specifically in the hexadecimal code cd0303).

"2. I also want to add a border of 2" wide solid color in the same red around the 14"x 23" the recipe image (so the final image will be 18 "x 27".

    3. I want to make the background transparent instead of white recipe and to make sure that the background remains transparent when I download the final image to .png format printing service so that only the red writing and the border will be printed on the fabric.

I would appreciate directions to do these things. For reasons I don't understand, when I created a file empty and set the color of the background transparent, then tried to make the changes I want, somewhere along the way the background changes to black.

    Thank you very much!

    Try this:

    1. Open your scanned document and do not forget that there is good contrast. The native scan may need help.
    2. Duplicate the background layer, then turn off the visibility of the background layer by clicking on the "eye" icon. Work on the background copy layer
    3. Download the magic wand out of the toolbox tool, tolerance set at 32 (may have to experiment with this value), uncheck the "contiguous"... Left-click on a substantive area white. Press DELETE on the keyboard. Press CTRL + D to get rid of the dotted moving line.
    4. Set your foreground on cd0303 color chip
    5. CTRL + left click on the thumbnail of the layer with the writing, then edit > fill selection > foreground color
    6. Press CTRL + D
    7. Go to Select >, then change stroke (outline) selection. Race position inside, fixed width of race based on
    8. Remove the background layer, and then save to the file format which preserves transparency.
  • How to make the background transparent in EP 14?

Have a picture to copy onto another image. How do you get the transparent background? Is there a plugin for this?

Is there a help line just for the EP? Sought a transparent background and found Q & A the PS full, Illuminator, and other Adobe products.

To answer the first part (make transparent white):

    1. change the background to a normal layer layer by double-clicking on it in the Palette layers and by changing the name. Simply accept the default name "Layer 0". Use the different selection tools to select the white part. In this example, I used the magic wand with the uncontrolled contiguous option and clicked on the white...

2 remove the selection, replacing with transparency.

    3. save the file in a format that supports transparency, such as TIFF, PNG or GIF.  JPG and BMP do not support transparency.

As for the second part (the text does), please send a screenshot showing your PSE working area and pallet layers open when you added the text.

Two ways to do it.  We need to make a picture of 1 x 1 saved as a PNG with transparency and which defined on the background and repeat.  This will work in IE 7 & up and all other browsers.  The other way with CSS transparency that requires a few lines in your code depending on the browser used - http://www.w3schools.com/Css/css_image_transparency.asp .

  • Import EPS and make the background transparent

    Hi all

Basically, I'm a n00b with Illustrator.  I have a logo EPS (downloaded from here: http://www.allfreelogo.com/logo/federal-bureau-of-investigation-fbi-logo.html) and perfectly, it is important to Illustrator.

However, after I resize, when I do the "Save for Web and Devices", it keeps creating my GIF file with a blank despite I asked transparent background.  Is there a way to do that is transparent?

I'm sure it's a small thing I'm missing because I do not know Illustrator.  Thanks for any help.

Perhaps there is a white object in the background. What you could do, it of take the eyedropper tool, click on the white area of the image and click the transparent button in the color palette.

Eliminating the white box can be done with precision using the mixture control if the Style layer.

    1. open the file and if the layer is locked, trash the lock.

2 Cmd + click on the new icon layer in the layers panel to apply a layer below the image.

    3. return to the upper layer and double-click it in the layers panel to bring up the layer Style.

    4. in the section mixture if at the bottom of layer Style, move the slider of the gray-scale top of page from right to left until the white area becomes transparent. It is a very small movement.

5 layer > merge down and save the psd file.

    Hello

Yes. Over time edit use the color tool and select transparent (the "T" symbol in the upper right corner of the color selection dialog box) to the background color. At run time, use the property of "text color: text color: BG ' control of the chain.

  • How to make the background of a transparent logo on a slide?

This seems to be the doc would be in 7 Captivate User Guide, in "properties of the images and the flight path images":

    Image

Transparent background Select the color fill icon. All occurrences of a particular color of an image can be made transparent.

    ...

    However, steps to reproduce:

1 Ctl + sh + m inserting image (logo, white background a lot).

    2. double-click on the image to open the property inspector of the image.

    3. under the image is as follows:

    cp-propinsp-image.jpg

4 I opened what seems to be the color picker on the right and select white.

    5. I click click the eyedropper on the left (which, when I mouse over it, has the ToolTip, "Make the color transparent selected."

Expected result: the white background becomes transparent.

    Result: white background remains white.

I am barking the wrong tree? What is the correct and effective way to make the white background of a picture transparent?

    Thank you

    Jeff

Let's just say that interface designer user Adobe wasn't in a good mood that day.

If you notice closely, there is a semicolon between the eyedropper icon, which indicates that this icon is just a "label". Next to that is a button which you should click. A click, you get the color scheme which has also the standard choose fill color. Select the fill and click on the area of the image that you want to make transparent.

Is another alternative for this, save the image in PNG format and import it into Captivate. It's hassle and in my experience is cleaner.

  • Is it possible to make the background invisible in a desktop flash application?

    Hey there,

I'm currently trying to create a small Flash desktop application that works a bit like sheep-scmpoo (scmpoo - cute little lamb / sheep on your desktop - YouTube). A screenmate with some animations and a movieclip linked together in as3.

Now, my problem is that the animal animation should look less like it really moves on the desktop of users, since I've found no way to really place it.

I already put it in mode full screen, which eliminates the borders, but I can't find a way to make the background invisible/transparent. In web browsers, this seems to be quite easy, but it works for desktop flash at all?

And if yes, how can I do?

    Thanks for the help
