  If you use an Acrobat XI subscription, then you are eligible to use an upgrade to Acrobat DC without paying any extra.

  Sara, problem solved.  FYI-I went to Google tool bar/internet reception/security/choose medium security / clicked on allow reliable messaging users / restarted the computer and success!  Put finely pfd to download and print.  I tried this before but did restart.   Please provide this information to all users of Adobe Reader XI. Since the update to the latest version of Adobe Reader (11.0.9) last week, we are unable to open a PDF with Adobe Reader. An AcroRd32.exe * 32 process is initiated, but the document will not open or view. Finally, we suffer a system crash. Open any other PDF document (not stored in archives management system) using Adobe Reader is fine. Documents can also be opened in the system of management of archives using Adobe Acrobat.

  My player program free adobe has recently become very slow and does not quite lately.  I use PDFCreator more for printing.  When I tried to print a PDF in PDFCreator Plus file today (as I did years) when the drive has been opening files very slowly, he changed all of my Adobe PDF files for files of more than PDFCreator.  It allowed me to switch back, but now I can't open any existing or newly created files.  I have thousand of pdf files.  I have since loaded Foxit as I run two companies and can not operate without access to my pdf files.  I would use Adobe yet, but have to know what to do to regain the ability to use the program and open my pdf once more.  I use Adobe Reader free with the downloaded the most recent version 11.0.07 May 22, 2014.

  I have Window 7 OS.  I went to uninstall via the control panel and on the list, I clicked Adobe Reader.  The options were to uninstall or change.  I clicked on the change and it gave me the option to repair.  I have repaired and restarted my computer.  All played well again.

  If you want to save a pdf file open in Safari on your machine, use the Save as option in the player window. Simply click on one of the buttons below screenshots to save a pdf file to any location on your computer.

  To summarize the question, if you had opened a PDF from the Internet in a browser plug-in, you must use the backup feature in the plug-in, but not the Safari file > Export PDF or file > save as...
