Cannot open a temporary file Access Denied

I use Windows 7 64-bit. In recent weeks I have had problems to open some files downloaded from the internet. Here are the standard files from known reputable sources. The most recent is Firefox setup 28.0.exe. (I thought that my browser Chrome could be the cause of the penalty)

Others are fdminst.exe, Virtualbox - 43.4 - 91207win.exe and Avast-browser - cleanup.exe.

I click and get the usual message run or save. I click on Run and get the error message '' Cannot open File C:\stuart\appdata\local\temp\filename .tmp'. The message has sometimes 7Zip under the title name. I have never use 7Zip and that you have not installed it. The error messages vary a little - even for two attempts in the same file. But are always on the same sometimes with Access Denied.

There are no other users.

I have a virus? I use AVG and also periodically Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, but they found nothing.

Finally, I downloaded other files and opened without any difficultyy.

Can anyone help?

Being that the usual 'temp' directory is different for each user, a possible workaround solution would be for you to create another user on a computer that has administrative privileges.  Then log out of your normal user account and connect you to your computer as the new user and try to do some of your facilities while connected as the new user to the administrator.  It * must * use a brand-new directory clean 'temp' to proceed with the installation.  I hope that it will work.

Another thing: on my computer, there is a folder "C:\Windows\Temp".  It is possible that this is the directory that he tries to use instead of the usual user profile temp directory.  If you have this folder, you can click on it-> properties-> Security (tab) and check that 'Administrators' have full access to this directory.

  • Cannot open the project file with write access.

I saw that this problem has been reported before, but have yet to find a solution.

I have my project file in an external hard drive.  When I plug the hard drive to another computer and want to save it, I get this message:

"Cannot open the project file with write access.  The file may be locked, or you don't have permission to write to this location.  Select Save as... »

I don't want to register as because other projects refer to this file and also my file is still going to be ruined.

FYI two computers use Windows 7.

    All solutions?

Right-click on the folder in Question and select Properties. Select tab security make sure you that you then add everyone to the list of users. Do you this by selecting edit and then add. Type in all members of the section of the object, and click ok. Then select all the user and check full control. Press Apply and we'll adjust the permissions for the folder and subfolders and files.

  • File access denied: you need permission to everyone to make changes to this file

Hello.  When I try to delete a file on an external hard drive on a network, I get this error message:

"File access denied: you need permission to everyone to make changes to this file."
I tried to take possession of the file, but there is no security or any other option to do.  Here's what I see when I click on properties:
    In general, details, previous Versions
Under "Details", the owner is listed as "Everyone".  At the bottom of the box, there is a link "remove properties and personal information."  If I click on that I have two options: 'Create a copy with all of the properties deleted' or "Remove the following properties from the file."  If I select "owner" and click ok, nothing happens - the owner is always listed as "Everyone" and I can't delete it.
    I am running windows 8.
    I am the administrator.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Step 1: Open the file properties

Step 2: Open the security option, and then click on allow list of user options and select your user name.

Step 3: Select allow and any other option. Then, closed.

Step 4: then open the file again. Now you can remove it.

    Hope that it will workzzzz...

  • There was an error opening this document. Access denied.

    Greetings,

When I did my taxes last year (March 2012), I downloaded PDFs of the IRS.  Form 1040 was an accessible file for writing, and I filled the need.  This file was saved on a Vista on XP machine.  A few months ago, I upgraded this pc for Windows 7 SP1.

Today, I'm about to do my taxes for this year.  When I double click on Form1040.pdf of last year, I get the following error message:

There was an error opening this document.  Access denied.

Interestingly, I can open other files pdf, as the form 1040 Instructions.  I don't think I have my Form1040.pdf password protected.  The reason I think that it is not password protected is because I'm not be prompted to enter a password.

I copied the file in an old detached machine XP (XP Home Edition, version 2002, SP3) I have and it opens fine.  He did not ask for a password.  I have printed copies of forms of year last of this XP machine, so this isn't an emergency for me, but it's slightly annoying that I can't understand what is wrong.

I have Adobe Reader XI version 11.0.2 installed on two machines (the Windows 7 machine and the old XP machine).

To sum up, it was created on Vista, I can't open it with Windows 7, but I can open it with XP.

Normally I would consider loading the file in question, but in this case, I hope you agree that maybe it's a bad idea!

Tips to make it work on Windows 7 would be appreciated.

Access denied means that there is a kind of permission issues.  Check the permissions for your user id in this file.

    Hello

I'm sorry but most of the posters, which I am part, who come here do not believe in using Tuneup Utilities, registry cleaners, etc. to improve performance or solve problems.

    They are completely unnecessary.

  • Get the Error Message When you try to reinstall Vista: Windows cannot open the required file: E:\Sources\install.wim

I'm trying to reinstall windows vista for the following reasons:

    1. I have SQL Server 2008 installed on my computer.  I deleted some files a long time ago and it screwed something and I couldn't reinstall.
    2. I had partitioned my hard drive for vista half and half SuSE and I deleted who and when I did, I think I deleted another partition - my recovery partition (E:\?).
    3. I need to clean my laptop.

When I try to start the installation of a disk and I put in my product key, I get the following error:

Windows cannot open the required file E:\Sources\install.wim.  The file does not exist.  Make suure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.  Error code: 0 x 80070002.

Let me know if you have any ideas how I can fix it.  My next step was to recreate this E directory and download the install.wim file and re start the installation.  I could not find the file install.wim well.

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

I checked the link you provided.  What you downloaded was just the Vista recovery environment.  You cannot actually re - install Vista with that and if you blew your recovery partition unfortunately you may be out of luck.  You blew your partition containing Vista runs so the SFC will be of no help either.  I wish I had better news for you, but I don't see any way o get on without a Vista DVD.  I have good news for you if.  When you get your HP drive if you have problems with the installation, we will be able to help you with that.

Portable Hi down tried restore none tried to install the new copy off vista prem with no joy only error 0x8007000D comes WINDOWS CANNOT OPEN THE REQUIRED FILE of joy

    Hi jamesgillwn,

    1. when exactly you get this error message?
    2. what disc do you use to reinstall?
    3. What is the exact error that appears when you try to start?
    4. at what point of the installation you get the error message?

After researching the error 0x8007000D code is essentially due to file corruption and a problem with the drive itself.

First check if you have scratches or dust on the disc and clean the surface and try again.

To check if the disk is wrong, you will need to copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive and try to install using that.

Try the steps from the following link:

Error message when you try to install Windows Vista by using the DVD drive on the computer: "Windows cannot install required files".

Note: When you perform the installation, you will lose the data, make sure that you need to backup your data before you perform the installation.

  • Just after I turn on the laptop (before that turns on Vista) I get "cannot open volume for direct access.

Just after I turn on the laptop (before Windows Vista turns on) the following message appears "cannot open volume for direct access.  What this mean and how can it be solved?

    Thank you

    Eddie

    Hi EddieLopezA,

    ·         Which version of Windows Vista is installed on your computer?

    ·         You have antivirus software on your computer?

This problem may occur if another utility or service, for example a virus check program or a program disk monitoring, locked the partition before you try to run the Chkdsk.exe or Autochk.exe utility.

I have some steps that may help you.

Method 1: I suggest you to turn off all third-party applications and check if you have a similar question.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open the start search box, type services.msc and click OK.

    2. in the Services (Local) list scroll the service concerned (for example auditor of virus or disk monitoring tool).

    3. right click on the service and select Properties.

    4. change the startup type to disabled for all applications 3rd - party that could be the cause of the blocking of Chkdsk problem.

    5. click OK/apply.

    6. restart the computer.

Method 2: If this does not help, try to change the registry value and restart the computer.

    1. click on the start search box, type regedit.

    2. in the Publisher of the registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, go to the following subkey:

    \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session manager

3 change the Boot entry run of:

autocheck autochk * /r\DosDevice\C: (or other)

    TO:

    autocheck autochk *.

Note: Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.  If you want to edit the registry to fix this I urge you to back up your registry before proceeding.
