  • Order Windows 7 Home Premium requires me to enter if I want ISO 32-bit or 64-bit. What is a ISO and who should I chose?

Help. in the middle of the download command and don't know the answer

ordered the upgrade from windows vista to windows 7 Home premium. order requires me to enter if want to ISO 32-bit or 32 - bit. don't know what ISO extension. should what version I choose?

An ISO file, often called an ISO image is an 'image' of a CD, DVD, or BD set. The entire contents of a disk can be perfectly represented in a single ISO file.

ISO image files are often used to distribute large programs on the Internet, due to the fact that all the program files can be perfectly content in a single file - the ISO file.

The most common way to use an ISO file is to burn the ISO to a CD, DVD or BD disc file.

Once you download it burn to DVD. Click on the above "burn the ISO on a CD DVD or BD disc file" for instructions.

Go to: Control Panel, system, here you will see your Type of system, either 32-bit or 64-bit operating system.

  • Upgrade Vista Basic Vista Home Premium with the old product key.

When I bought my laptop, it came with Vista Home Premium installed. I had to wipe my HD and reinstalled Vista using the diskette provided me by Dell, but the version they gave me was Vista Home Basic. Is there a way to upgrade to Home Premium with pay them for it because I bought the license when I first bought my computer?

Contact Dell on them giving you the wrong recovery disk...

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Upgrade 7 ultimate from Home Premium

I have Windows 7 Ultimate on my desktop through Windows and I had it installed on a laptop (same method).  This laptop was abandoned and replaced by a new machine and Home Pemium.  I want to go to the ultimate, but Windows Anytime Upgrade will not accept my product key.

    Hi ZigZag3143

My new computer has the Home Premium a OEM but my main machine has been updated, leaving a license for the new which is a portable computer (mobile device).

I currently have the Starter Edition and my laptop has 1 GB of memory, CPU Intel N450 @ 1.66 Ghz and 250 GB HARD drive. Can I have a good return and activate the Aero theme? Thank you!!! :)))

Not quite sure about the activation of the Aero theme, but you should be able to run Home Premium. You can use the Express Windows upgrade option in the control panel to troubleshoot. You can also use the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to help determine the capabilities of your netbook.

I am trying to download a free software an official link from Microsoft, it is called Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I had a failure of extraction. • Cannot download anything in vista Home premium

I'm not able to download anything with my vista home premium. I have windows defender and windows firewall. How can I fix this so that I can download the drivers I need.

    Hi Stanley,

    (1) download the files\drivers which web browser do you use?

    (2) you get an error message?

    (3) remember you to make changes prior to this problem?

Disable the security software and then check if the problem persists. Follow the steps mentioned in the link below

    Disable the antivirus software

If you use a non-Microsoft security software, you can check the documentation provided with the program to achieve this.

Important: Re activate security software once everything is done.

You can activate the port in the Windows Firewall, see the link below

Open a port in Windows Firewall

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-a-port-in-Windows-Firewall

Note: What are the risks of allowing programs through a firewall?

  • Cannot restore backup image Vista Home Premium Vista Ultimate

So recently my house was broken into and my laptop stolen.  Fortunately, considerate thieves left my backup hard drive external, I used my destination for Vista Ultimate backups.

Advance of 2 weeks and now I have a new laptop.  It has Vista Home premium installed. It is deplorable that I must pay for 2 because Microsoft OS assumed that I am a software pirate and does not give me an OEM OS disk, but I also use a version with fewer features.

But I'm better.  Soon I discovered that my non "backups" are not all files that are not some base document/text/music files.  All my encrypted volumes that have my REALLY important files were not considered sufficiently specific to save Vista, probably because their extension wasn't .txt, .doc or .mp3.

Fine.  In fact, I did disk-image backups.  As recently, you mind, but at least most of my stuff should be there.

And, I can't restore my own disk-image backups because Vista Home Premium does not support.  Great, not only bought Vista * double *, I'm not allowed to retrieve the files that I recorded with a BONE that I bought and supposed to be always clean, but only in certain intellectual property of Kafka-esque fantasy land.

I tried the 3rd party virtualization software to try to start the image (.vhd files). No go.  Can someone tell me how to recover my files?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ixne,

We will not be able to recover an ultimate Image on Home Premium. However, if you have a backup of your entire PC, then you can try to do the same thing in Windows Recovery Mode.

Starting with the DVD of the operating system, once you see the manufacturer of the screen, Tap "F8". Choose the option "full restoration of the PC.

Hope this helps with your problem.
