  Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

  For the record, I found the answer myself. It is within an article that lists as scheduled tasks in Vista. The KB is:

  I recently bought the PC above from Dell, so I could turn the video that I had made of my travels in DVD.  However when I connected my camcorder (samsung VP-D323) via USB to the PC and loaded the software provided with the camera, Vista didn't recognize it. (The software had already worked on XP on another PC). He says that the drivers have not been installed.

  I contacted Samsung and they gave me a link to download driver. What I did (it's in a WinRAR file - I do not know what it is).

  When I connected my camcorder to PC computer recognized that a new device has been attached but when I go into Windows Moviemaker, he said that he could not find a compatiable device. I checked everything I know (which is not that much) but am a little lost.

  I read on another forum that I should buy a firewire port, but I see on my PC there is no slot for a firewire cable.

  What can I do to download my video without spending a fortune? The new software, a new camera can I or some other news download driver or Add on?
