Canon ImageRunner for Mac

Hello

We are a small arts organisation and want to acquire a used Canon ImageRunner 5051i or possibly a model 7065, according to availability.

We're all using Macbooks, air or Mbps on El Capitan. We have a wireless network and also an Airport Extreme (which we currently do not use but would like to).

We would like to know if it is possible to:

(A) network ImageRunner printers on the network through the Airport extreme wireless

(B) if the printer models are compatible with our Macs - I read the other threads where people have had problems, usually with PS kits being installed (?)

(C) if one of the machines is more appropriate than the other, then would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your help

Simon

Printers are just network devices, so they will work ok with your Airport Extreme. The key factor is if Canon continues to support printer drivers for these devices is multifunctional and if they are web managed, or require a Windows PC dedicated to this purpose. You should also strongly consider the Postscript/PDF option on those devices too. Remember to update the Canon firmware before updates software on the Mac side. Do not exclude the Konica-Minolta Bizhub products industry for the purposes of comparison.

Model 5051i:

  1. Fax driver is supported for OS X 10.11
  2. Canon of Macintosh PS PPDs for OS X supported by OS X 10.11
  3. Canon PS for OS X printer driver supported by OS X 10.11
  4. Printer driver Mac CUPS URFII/UFRII LT taken care of through OS X 10.9
  5. Printer driver CUPS/URFII Mac taken in charge through OS X 10.10
  6. PostScript (office) for Mac OS X supported by OS X 10.10 printer driver

Model 7065

When you select OS X 10.11: there is no download recommended for the OS version you have selected.

  • How to upgrade the CameraRaw file in my version of Photoshop - CS5.1 for Mac?

I have Photoshop CS5.1 for Mac and I am trying to edit a my Canon EOS 70 d raw file, but I get the message that the file CameraRaw is obsolete. I also have the standalone version of Lightroom 6 and he accepts the file raw OK so its file CameraRaw version should be OK. If it is not possible to download the CameraRaw version I need is it possible to transfer from Lightroom?

For the camera, you need to Camera Raw 8.2 or higher. While LR 6 can handle this camera, CS5.1 cannot. You can use the converter free for DNG save in a compatible Camera Raw file for Camera Raw 6.X.

MS Office 2011 is still supported by Microsoft.

I works fine on my MacBook Pro mid-2012 13 "run macOS Sierra.

I upgraded to El Capitan, and it did not affect MS Office 2011.

All you have to do is to install the updates for MS Office 2011.

If MS Office breaks all what you need to do is reinstall Office 2011 but it will work with macOS Sierra.

  • We can establish a common partition for Mac OS and Windows Boot Camp

I'm new to Mac, so please excuse my ignorance.

I have a MacBookPro 11 mid-2015 with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM.

I have Mac OS X El Capitan and that you have installed 10 Windows using the Boot Camp utility on a 150 GB partition. I wanted a common partition on exFAT which could serve as a repository for my data either of the OS. My intention - 150 GB for Mac OS - 200 GB of data - 150 GB for Windows 10. How can this be achieved?

Earlier, after the Boot Camp, I reduced the Mac OS to 350 GB partition to 150 GB and released 200 GB. Formatting this turned me expensive because it stopped my Windows to start. Repair it was a waste of time and effort. I draw the hard Windows on a Mac is sensitive to changes in the partition.

In addition, is using Virtual Box better than Boot Camp? I don't have as much virtualized environments.

    Please advice.

You can connect an external drive of ExFat formatted. The OSX and Windows can read/write on a disk formatted ExFat.

A virtual machine has its advantages, as does a Boot Camp facility. A virtual machine allows the simultaneous OS, any necessary initialization to change operating systems. Data can be shared between operating systems more easily. Computer such as memory resources are shared in a VM for applications environment to run slower.

Installation of Boot Camp allows Windows to run in native mode by using all of the system resources, so apps will go faster. But to change operating systems, a reboot is required. It is more difficult to share data.

  • is it possible to create something GarageBand for Mac and share with someone using an iOS device to be able to add and send it back?

OK, here's the deal. I have a friend who is interested in working on musical ideas through GarageBand. He has an iPad Pro (not sure 1st or 2nd gen). and I use my 6 + or 1 Air iPad iPhone or a MacBook Pro. didn't matter that the one that I use because it can't open them with the iPad Pro, even if he sent it to me first. I am only able to open what it sends to my MacBook, although...

Is this possible? Very convenient to add titles and the return device to added again and so on? One might think that these devices would be able to work this way with each other.

    Thank you

GarageBand on an iOS device cannot open GarageBand for Mac projects, but a mac can open GarageBand compatible for iPhone/iPad projects.

So, you might send your friend only mixed audio files. Your friend should add the sound to the Music.app on the iPad Pro and then add the new joint audio tracks in GarageBand. It is quite complicated, because you need to merge the titles added your friend in your original on the Mac project.

  • Mac crashes when you bind iOS Keynote remote control to Keynote for Mac

I'm having a problem with Keynote for Mac.  When I try to connect the Keynote remote iOS, Mac freezes for a few seconds and then this black screen feeling that says "your Mac was stopped due to a problem... "I tried 10 times and have had success with it once.  I don't know what I did different that around the time, but now it does nothing.

Here are some details of version / unit for assistance:

    I tried using an iPhone 6 (MKQ52LL/A) with iOS 9.3. ? connect to a MacBook Pro 15 2013 (MacBookPro11, 2) with MacOS 10.11.

I tried again to the same devices running the latest OS, iOS 10.0.1 and MacOS 10.12.

  • Using facial recognition on Photos for Mac (Sierra)

It seems that iOS synchronize recognition with Photos of the faces for Mac, nor between iOS devices, which is disappointing.

However, the face recognition function seems to be a great improvement in the identification of faces (maybe wrong, but it does not use the faces generated by manual detection).

I'm working on how this happens when I leave the Mac from one day to the next.  He says that the faces are profiled in the Photos app is not in use and that the Mac is plugged.

Does this mean that the Photos app must be closed and the trendy Mac and open? Or if the app can be open (but not in use) and closes the Mac?

    Thank you

The Photos App not running is my understanding

  • My book for Mac "preparing backup".

    Hi all

I've updated to Sierra this morning and since then my WD My Book for Mac has been slain in the backup of the preparation for about 10 hours. My backup before the upgrade went through without a problem. Is the amount of time the backup takes to be expected with the upgrade or it's just stuck in limbo?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello, Huss417!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. Congrats on the update to Mac OS Sierra! It's a great new operating system. From your post, I'm seeing that you have problems with your Time Machine backup since the update, even though - he was slain on "Preparing" for a lot longer than expected. I know the importance of these backups and want absolutely to make your passes by. I'd be happy to help you!

  • PowerPoint for Mac bar vertical scrolling does not work in the Sierra

I have downloaded Sierra, open a PowerPoint for Mac 2011 version 14.5.4 and immediately noticed that the vertical scroll with my mouse does not work. They're only going to 'up' (for example, slide 14, 13, 12, 11, 10) or will be stuck between 2 blades.

I unplugged and replugged my mouse, turned PPT market twice and rebooted my MacBook. No change.

I know it's early days and these are the pains of growth with the new OS, but I use PPTX constantly.

    Any tips are appreciated.

Have the same problem. I don't know that this isn't a mouse problem because it happens when I use the touchpad as well.

  • I still use the Microsoft Office for Mac 2008. I want to upgrade. Can I switch to Office for Mac 2011 (still available? or do I have to get Office for Mac 2016?)

"I'm still using Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 Home & Student Edition). I want to upgrade. Can I switch to Office for Mac 2011 (still available?) or do I have to get Office for Mac 2016? I use WORD and have a large number of documents created in my genealogy.

Office 2011 always works, even with El Capitan. If you go to the office 2016, then you can only buy the annual subscription $ 99.00 / year. Office 2011 can be found for $139.00.

If you do not require 100% compatibility, you can use the Free Officefree software.
